I don't care how you look at the speech, it's a damn threat. And I wouldn't say that it's only his opinion (it's mine as well), but I'm sure that someone could start a Poll if you like.

Thanks for saving me the typing Bill.

Excecution of Iraq Chopper Shoot Down Survivor
justinb138 replied to Duckwater's topic in Speakers Corner
It's a possibility, but I guess I'm stuck in that "innocent until proven otherwise" mindset. While the people in the chopper may have been associated with the companies hired by the gov't, I still don't see how it would effect the event. I find it hard to believe that the company the guy worked for was ever a factor in the decision to shoot him. I think it was more along the lines of "He's American, kill him" as opposed to "He works for a company that hires mercenaries, and is a threat to our goals, kill him" I think the only reason where it could be justified is if he was a threat to the people that shot him. If he was armed, OK. If not, I find it hard to believe that anyone that was unarmed and injured could be seen as a threat. -
I think there are a few departments around here with a "no pursuit" policy too.
-
I did read the transcript of the speech. IIRC, a recent poll showed his approval rating was lower than 50%. It appears that a majority of the people in his district don't think he should be there either. It's the opinion of most of the American people. There was no reason that congress should have been involved. If you think there is one, please let me know what it is.

I'm sure there are some innocent people in prison, however, there are many many more guilty people there. The system isn't perfect (and you won't find one that is), but I think it does a pretty good job.
-
While it would be an effective measure, I'm sure it would deprive the city of the ticket revenue they have grown so dependant on. Unfortunately, it seems that there are many departments in my area that are more worried about "revenue collection" than actually pursuing criminals....
-
Where were you when you saw so many people with guns? Other than in very rural areas, I've never seen anyone outside there own home with a gun, and that's here in Texas.
-
It sucks, but it's true. I think the fact that the system sets people up to fail once they are released is the largest problem, and only leads to more crime.
-
Forget the paid trips, the jackass openly threatened federal judges for not acting on something they shouldn't have been involved in at all. That action alone is reason enough for me to believe he shouldn't be there still.
-
Would it taste better because you were wearing black skin-tight leather pants? Probably not, but it makes about as much sense as your comment.
-
but then would you be able to drink in your house if you had guns there? Eh, by carry, I mean in public. Even if it was illegal, unless you have cops randomly roaming through your house during the day, I don't think it'd be an issue.
-
It's excessive enough to be illegal. If it's enough to impair someone's driving ability, it's enough to impair their ability to make quick decisions with a firearm. True. But wouldn't making it illegal to carry a firearm when under the influence be more effective than banning guns in bars?
-
Nitric Acid? I wouldn't put that stuff anywhere near something I didn't want to destroy. Bad stuff that Nitric acid....
-
Why do you feel it is irresponsible? you don't see the possibility that even a trained CCW holder can get drunk and do something stupid? Please read the last posts I made. Bringing a gun into a bar isn't irresponsible or stupid. Bringing a gun into a bar/club/anywhere while under the influence of alcohol IS irresponsible and stupid. The bar isn't the dangerous factor, the alcohol is.
-
That's what I was getting at. Carrying a gun into a bar is no worse than carrying one into a store, etc.. It's the excessive drinking part that causes a problem, regardless of where it is at.
-
Why do you feel it is irresponsible? Many guns are under 21. Ah, true. They might get drunk and randomly start shooting people. Damn drunk guns.

I've installed door knobs that made more sense than some of your posts. -

Acutally, I did look at the website. They don't guard the mall, they may train the people that do though. You can twist it as far as you want, but they were civilians. -

At first, I wondered how you were so sure of that. Then, I remembered, you know everything. [/sarcasm] If you would actually take time to research something you might actually know that the company is involved primarily in police and military training. I know it must be difficult, and it probably isn't as fun for you, but it would be nice if you would actually base at least some of what you say on fact rather than the obvious anti-american mentality so apparent in the majority of your posts. -

No bike is "pretty much race ready" from the dealer. Unless you know of a dealer that will drill holes in the frame, wire the bike together, remove the mirrors and the turn signals prior to you buying it. I'm just curious as to what your definition of race ready is? By "race ready" I mean that there aren't many differences between the bike from the dealer and the bikes that are raced. I didn't mean that they were legal for track use. Sorry for the confusion.
