  1. Actually John, YOU just defined his neighborhood as not nice, not him.
  2. If you did a little research you'd find that McDonald's had been sited Many times for serving their coffee too hot - at the boiling point, AND had been sued previous to this woman's injury. She was Not driving the car, her Grandson Was. The coffee spilled when she attempted to put cream in while the car was STATIONARY. She required SKIN GRAFTS due to the seriousness of the injury. Her initial award was reduced to a fraction of the original figure. When deposed, McDonald's officials said they KNEW the coffee was VERY HOT, but said their customers preferred it that way. Yep. The coffee wasn't just hot, it was dangerously hot, and they knew it. Also, I believe the amount she was awarded was the coffee sales McD's does in 1 day. IIRC, that amount was later reduced as well.
  3. It sounds like she has adopted the American lifestyle already.
  4. He should have respectfully refused it.
  5. The two with the holsters on the hip I would immediately assume were LEOs (especially if they were in Chicago). I would guess that the third would probably not have been a cop, as I've never seen or heard of a cop carrying a weapon in that fashion.
  6. Hmm. If the weapons were visible, I'd assume that they were LEOs of some type, depending on how the weapons were being carried. I find it hard to believe that any criminal in their right mind would openly walk around with a visible firearm.
  7. Maybe, but my point is this. Any kid dying is bad...Don't blame the gun (And liberals always seem to want to blame the tool). Its not the tool folks...Its a fault of the parents. A parent leaving a gun out is not different than them leaving a poison out. Yep. Unfortunately, our society has come to be one where no one will take responsibility for their own actions. It's alot easier to blame the gun than the parent because "guns are evil". There was a tragic incident a few months a go here in N. Texas where a young child was killed because they were run over by the car that the father was backing out of the garage. I believe that the family is currenty in a lawsuit with the car manufacturer and dealer because a rear-view camera was not standard on the vehicle (it was an option however). The fact that people will go to such extremes to blame other things before accepting responsibility for their own actions sickens me.
  8. But them dying by a knife, or club is OK? I see no difference in the type of tool used. I think his point is similar to the last statement you made.
  9. Kazaa lite is no longer available on the net (due to lawsuits I believe), but you can still get it. Just download the regular Kazaa and then use it to get Kazaa Lite.
  10. Well, you won't see any Stinger missles in bars in Arizona, they have laws against them!
  11. Even if they're used for hunting?
  12. I love larger vehicles on the highway (as long as the driver isn't insane or somtheing). It is kinda nice to be right behind a big truck when I'm driving my car. I can be running about 70-80mph and get 35-40mpg easily as long as I stay behind them.
  13. Do you recall how the people were carrying the weapons?
  14. sometimes but not always. That's what gets me about some of the pro-gun people here though - the sentiment I'm getting (whether right or wrong I don't know it's just what I'm getting) is that guns will solve the worlds problems. I disagree. It won't solve the world's problems, but it is a nice option to have when you need to defend yourself.
  15. Guy in a crowded bar pulls a gun and I'm in arms reach - I think I can effectively defend myself. What are the odds of you being within arms reach of every person in a bar that could pull a gun?
  16. True, but you can easily kill them with a knife. You could carry a baseball bat, but they're not too effective against criminals that don't obey gun laws.
  17. The courts didn't force their ideals on anyone. It's people like DeLay that got involved and tried to use the government to force their ideals one family in Florida.
  18. It it currently illegal for a bartender to keep a weapon behind the counter at a bar?
  19. ouch - that would hurt my ass. Probably.. But it would make the 6pm news a little more entertaining.
  20. riiiight, so now impotent posturing and political speech making is a damn threat I get it. So next time a friends looks ahead in traffic and says "that guy BETTER not cut me off", I'll be sure to take control of the vehicle and take him directly to counseling. Edit: We get stuff that strong in almost every thread in Bonfire and nearly every post in SC Next time you get pulled over for a traffic violation, make a statement similar to DeLay's after the cop is done writing the ticket, and see if he doesn't yank your ass out of that car.
  21. Agreed. I wish they would just shoot them, but I don't think the ACLU would be to happy with that method.
