  1. Celebrity Joepardy is just about the funniest thing ever. My personal favorite is the "Penis Mightier" episode.
  2. I would have to disagree with that. 99% of the people don't make a big issue out of most things. Unfortunately, it's the 1% that do that everyone hears about.
  3. I've had to go through diversity training, and I don't work in a predominately black workplace. There is a pretty good mix of everybody. The training was not really about differences between people, but was to encourage people to realize that everyone has a different perspective, and something that seems harmless to one person might offend another. For a boring corporate seminar thingy, it was actually pretty decent.
  4. Here is an interesting article for you to read. http://americancivilwar.com/authors/black_slaveowners.htm
  5. Many do. Laws apply to everybody, if someone doesn't recognize them, they can elect to get the fuck out. Ok, here is a simple question: How?
  6. I'll agree with that. Can you? Who's to say how much of that money would have been earning interest.? How do you determine who's ancestors were slaves, how do you decide how to divide up the money? I believe they do, but they're kind of dead. Dead people don't have much use for money. Consider this: Who's descendants are better off now: Those who were slaves, or those who remained in Africa? Edit: Damn Ron, I think I just posted everything you said.
  7. It'd be nice but I don't see it happening. Career politicians are the root of all evil.
  8. There have been several listed...But I'll recap some of them for you: 1. Insurance regulations. Some insurance companies will not cover you unless you have a testing program in place, or offer lower rates if you have one. 2. Regulation from "higher". Airline employees have random drug tests since they are required by the FAA. Trucking companies have random tests since the DOT requires it. Both valid reasons. And it still stands...If you hate them so much, don't do them, but be willing to be denied jobs, or fired from your present one. While I disagree with the random testing in general, if asked at my current job, I'd do one. I also do understand that some industries would have good reason for them due to the nature of the business. It's really not that big an an issue with me. As far as I know, drug testing has been done at my workplace only a few times, and only because there was reason to believe that someone was under the influence of drugs that were stolen from the building. So, all is well.
  9. If I'm late 3 times in 30 days without good reason I get fired, end of story. No drug testing done. If someone can't show up to work on time, fire them, on drugs or not. If someone can't do their job, fire them, on drugs or not. If someone shows up to work smelling like weed, test them to see if they were under the influence at work, then fire them if they were. I see no compelling reason to randomly drug test people that do not appear to be under the influence of drugs. It's that simple.
  10. Yep, the drugs are illegal, and I would gladly have a UA done if there were cause to believe that I was using them. Until there is good reason to believe that I am using drugs, a search or seizure (in the form of a UA test) is not allowed according to the 4th amendment.
  11. Doesn't mention drugs, but it is called the 4th Amendment. Something like this:
  12. It is my company's policy to send people for a drug test if they are involved in an accident, mainly for insurance purposes. It doesn't mean they should randomly test people all the time, and they don't, unless they have a compelling reason to. Lets imagine another example, without any illegal drugs (weed, coke, etc..) Have you ever taken any prescription drugs that weren't yours? Would you agree that if someone had a sore back or something and took some vicodin a friend had to help get to sleep one night that it wouldn't hurt anything? Wouldn't it suck to get selected for a random drug test a week or so later and get fired for something that had absolutely no impact on your ability to do your job? I don't use any illegal drugs, hell I rarely even drink. What I do in my house is my own business, not my employers, provided it does not impact my ability to do my job. Can I make it any clearer?
  13. What people do in their homes is their own business. Anyone that would show up at work under the influence and bitch about being tested is a f*cking idiot.
  14. Because I'm your employer not your friend. I dont know what you do at home. So if I want to know if your a coke head at home, thats how you do it with a UA. Why should my company know anything about what I do at home when it has absolutely no effect on my work ability? If something I do at home affects my ability to do my job, then address it.
  15. It's pretty much the same thing. If someone is asked to be tested because they appear to be under the influence, then it isn't a random test. There is cause to believe they are under the influence of drugs. Personally, I think it is an invasion of privacy. If someone comes to work under the influence, test them, fire them, whatever. If my employer feels the need to randomly drug test me every so often because they don't trust me when I told them I don't use drugs, why did they hire me in the first place? It's being guilty until proven innocent.
  16. Unless you don't have a 'script. The street prices are greatly inflated for all the drugs you listed. Making something illegal always has the effect of increasing the price. True, I didn't think about that aspect of it.
  17. I'm in no pain and I'm more of an Advil person, but do you happen work for the people that make Allegra? They gave out some lotion as a promotional item a few years back, but it didn't have a "name" and it was really awesome lotion - it had sea salt in it. I just want to know what it was, who makes it and where to find it. Judy I don't know who makes it, but I do know what you're talking about. When I worked in a store a few year ago, they had sent us some of that stuff. Allegra is manufactured by Aventis, if you give them a call, they might be able to point you in the right direction. Aventis Pharmaceuticals Inc. 300 Somerset Corporate Boulevard Bridgewater, NJ 08807-2854 1-800-981-2491
  18. Those are retail prices from a major US pharmacy chain (that I work for). I can give you the website with the info if you would like. Some pain pills can be very expensive, but the most common ones really aren't that much.
  19. OXYCODONE/APAP 7.5-325MG TABLETS $84.99 /60 Tabs (Oxycontin) MEPERIDINE 50MG TABLETS $27.29 /30 Tabs (Demerol) HYDROMORPHONE 4MG TABLETS $51.99 /100 Tabs (Dilaudid) MORPHINE SULFATE ER 30MG TABLETS $103.49 /100 Tabs (Just plain old Morphine) PROPOXYPHENE-N 100 W/ APAP 650 TABS $19.99 /60 Tabs (Darvocet) HYDROCODONE/APAP 10MG/660MG TABS $39.99 /60 Tabs (Vicodin) Unless someone grows their own, I think weed would be much more expensive than most pain medication. Personally, I wish the fed. gov't would just legalize the stuff and stop spending so much damn money trying to stop something they'll never be able to.
  20. When I was in High School (about 3 years ago) they sometimes had recruiters at the school. They would always have a table set up during lunch time, no time was ever set aside for them. They were pretty much just there to talk to if anyone was interested. It seemed to work pretty well. Personally, I think this is just a case of bored parents wanting something to bitch about.
  21. I've never been pulled over for something I didn't do either, and I've been given a citation every time. It sucks, but eventually I learned it was cheaper to slow down a little bit. Last time I was pulled over the cop had a clipboard with a sticker on the back with a big yellow smiley face that said "Smile: You're on Radar"...
  22. Ahh, Busa just doesn't have enough power fer ya on the street so ya gotta get a pipe?
