New video of Pentagon Attack to be released
justinb138 replied to Rookie120's topic in Speakers Corner
Drive your car into a building at 250mph. How much of that car wreckage do you think is going to be intact? There are plenty of those. Video too. How exactly is a building supposed to look when a jet plows into it at that speed? You mean other than all the information out there that proves a plane crashed into the pentagon? If you're implying it was a bomb that blew that section of the building up, I'm sure they could have found more cost-effective shrapnel than airplane parts. -
Yep!

The Rabbit.

3 S's? Snakes, Spiders, and Scorpions?
-
You need to come up further north where the nice creatures are. I've got a rabbit living in my backyard right now.

or just find some spiders (the big black and yellow garden spiders work the best) to keep the wasp & hornet population down.

Biggest Reserve that can Fit into a J4?
justinb138 replied to mattyblast's topic in Gear and Rigging
Those two sets of canopies are completely unrelated. The Smart 220 and R-MAX pack close to the same size as PD218R reserves. If it's even possible to get one of those in a J4, it's going to be a real pain in the ass. -

A Raven II is 218 sqft. It says it'll hold from 176 up to a raven II. -
Me neither.

The Silhouette (mentioned above), flies similar to a Navigator if I remember correctly. I've got one, but I haven't flown a Nav in so long I can't really compare the two. They don't have the resale value of something like a Sabre2, but they're much easier to pack. (And the waiting list for a demo is probably much shorter than most other PD canopies).

Rigger tabs/safety seal/plastic thingy...

I saw the doubled type 7 and thought Wings, but they use doubled type 8 on the chest strap, where the pic appears to have a type 7 chest strap. -
That video is quite possibly one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Edit: To clarify, I'm not talking about the crash video.

Hmm... there's a bottle of Millagro Anejo on the table across the room calling my name....

Info for those of you considering buying a motorcycle...
justinb138 replied to hexadecimal's topic in The Bonfire
It doesn't seem like people need an open stretch lately.... Hell, I don't even like driving my car on 635 anymore. Having nearly been run over by countless people who don't pay attention driving (cell phone, etc..), it just got to a point where it wasn't fun anymore.... -

Obviously you've never ridden in Dallas. -
That's why PD has a demo program. I've flown a few different canopies, and I prefer 9 cells. Some people like 7 cells better. Just try a few of each and get the one you like the best.

Probably, I didn't look that closely at the vid last night. Still, pulling stunts like that anywhere near a crowd in an airplane not designed for it seems like a really, really bad idea.
-
Yeah, and he's lucky he didn't kill a bunch of other people when the plane hit.

justinb138 replied to hexadecimal's topic in The Bonfire
Personally, I think riding my motorcycle is considerably more risky than skydiving, which is why I rarely ride anymore. If I lived in a more rural area, my views would probably be different, but with all the SUV's and people on cell phones driving, I don't think the fun is work the risk any longer. -
Help from Doctors (and possibly lawyers?) on here....

If they gave you all those pain meds in a few hours I don't see how you'd be conscious enough to walk out of the hospital... and Macrobid is for UTI's usually, so that's kinda odd. -
Brian Germain's Canopy Course
justinb138 replied to NoRules's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Uhh... That's Scott Miller's course... It'd be nice if we could get Brian out there too sometime though. -
AK-47's are a little cheaper. I'm gonna get a couple of AK's sometime. They look like fun! Walt They are.

I've heard very good things about the Kawasaki sport-street bikes lately.

Or a YZF600R, they're still sporty, but have a more relaxed riding position compared to the R6.
