  1. Bwahahahahaha. Seriously, though, Good Luck with everything. {{{FastHealingVibes}}}
  2. I remember reading about this one last year. I think it hasn't recieved a lot of attention d/t the fact that it's both a gas giant and so close to it's parent star. On a positive note, I heard that NASA is reconsidering the cancellation of Hubble's next service mission (hoorah!). Now if we can only convince them to bring Hubble home and put it in the Smithsonian.

    Mydoom

For all the grief I get over using the whole norton suite on my pc, I've never had a virus.
  4. I'm still waiting for my copy of "fly like a pro" to arrive, the company I ordered it from didn't have it in stock, so it's taking longer than expected (which stinks cause I paid for the express delivery). Aside from that, I watch a bunch of the ones on the net that show either nice exits or nice landings so I can see how it looks when done properly.
  5. Where's the "I only have six jumps so I remember them all" option? (I really want this winter to go away, I miss getting my knees in the breeze )
  6. I blame Dean's "I have a scream" speech on too much coffee. (just trying to play fire extinguisher)
  7. Dyslexic Skydivers of the world, UNTIE!!!!
  8. Does she really practice martial arts or is she one of those movie style people? If she really does study martial arts, ay carumba! Course, if she doesn't, ay carumba! She's purty. I just have a thing for ass-kicking women.
  9. There are a few really good math tutoring software packages that you can get at a computer store. I have one on my pc that goes from grade school level basics all the way to college level courses.
  10. I have a grand total of six jumps, and sitting here thinking about it, I know I'll have some fear when I'm standing in the door whenever the weather here allows me to jump again, and call me wierd, but that seems like half the fun. I hope I don't lose that feeling any time soon.
  11. Good post! While I may not be a lawyer, I made the mistake one time of telling my neighbors what I did for a living (Registered Nurse). Now I tell people I'm a garbageman. Less questions that way.
  12. Didn't the Army do a study once that said a bullet would need to be something like three inches in diameter for consistent "stopping power"? Also, I think it said that to drop someone with a regular gun, you'd have to hit them either in the heart, the head, or one of the femurs. That being said, I'm a .45 cal person myself.
  13. I used to drink beer merely to get drunk. I filled myself full of those macro craptastic beers. Yuk. Now I drink beer because I'm starting to realize how wonderfully complex and yummy a well crafted beer can be. I actually enjoy the taste, the smell, how it looks in the glass, etc. I don't actually drink enough to get drunk anymore, I have grown tired of that feeling. As to why people smoke (assuming we're talking about those left handed cigarettes), I gave that stuff up a long time ago. It was fun when I was in college, but I've grown out of it .
  14. Duuuude, the ground, it's moving so fas(WHACK) Tower, I'm soooo wasted, how am I gonna land this thi(CRASH). No thanks. I don't smoke the stuff, I don't think I'd get in the plane if either the pilot or the other jumpers were puffing beforehand. What people want to do afterwards if they are going to hang around the DZ without driving home, I'm not going to try and stop them. And yes, I used to smoke the stuff a long time ago. Nothing better than a weekend star trek marathon and a few big fatties when I was in college.
  15. The best lessons to learn are often the hardest. I agree with Quade, let the kid take his lumps and learn a lesson. And not to be too much of a doomsayer, but what if he had caused an accident? The cop may have done him a big favor.
  16. Thanks, but I think I'll stick with this Trappistes Rochefort 10 I'm currently enjoying. (It's a beer, btw)
  17. Someone (I can't remember if it was one of my JM's or someone on this site) told me that practicing doing backflips in a pool would be good to practice before doing them in the air. I don't know if that counts as exercise, just my $0.02

  19. Agreed, I think I would have gotten more of the squirrels body and head in the pic, the darkness at the bottom of the pic is a bit distracting. Cool pic nonetheless, I think squirrels are awesome little critters.
  20. I'm just wondering, what's the difference between a regular canopy, a crew canopy, and those jalbert parafoil things? I'm not looking for detailed tech specs and whatnot, just a general sort of something-an-AFF-person can understand. The paragear catalog makes for wonderful "throne" reading, and I keep seeing those other canopies and was just wondering what the difference was. Thanks!
  21. I'm Super! Thanks for asking, silly buns!
  22. Farking John Travolta I refuse to watch anything that has scientosmologists in it. (Cause that farking cult very nearly caught me, $cientosmology is a scam)
  23. No one wants to date me! Edit to add: Kenpo? How cool is that? Of course, I'll stick with my Wing Chun, thanks
  24. If you want to get all quantum theoretical, no one can prove to someone else that they exist. I'm still trying to figure out if the entire universe is all a figment of my imagination . But when the weather turns warmer, I'd be glad to jump with anyone here in an attempt to prove my existance.
