be carefull with this one... yes it can help if security is being ackward, but as I understand it, the pilot has final say on what gets or does not get on his plane So if he/she isnt keen on a rig going on as hand luggage, or even checked in lugguage, his/her word is going to be final... and I can see every one in the airline industry being extremely conservative and restrictive for the next months/years... I can easily imagine a security guy DEMANDING you open your container (both compartments)... leagally, you dont have to , but that means you wont pass security.. makes going to a skydiving holiday kinda hard... We've been cheching-in our rigs for our last few flights (USA to Europe and in Europe), and knock on wood, havent had any problems (wrapped in plastic bags in a samsonite hard case)... this way thee are less chances of being asked to open them. PS: I beleive all El Al (or something like that.. the Israel airline) has armed personel on board... perhaps someone with 1st hand knowledge can confirm? Remi Muff 914

Television reports shortly after the crashes said that at least six people had been killed, but the final death toll is likely to be far higher. The building, the tallest in New York, is a popular tourist attraction which houses financial services companies and the attack occurred at 9am (2pm BST) when employees and tourists would have already arrived at the building. It is thought that the aircraft were passenger planes, and one is believed to be an American Airlines Boeing 767 flying rom Boston. The first aircraft crashed into one of the towers shortly before 9am (2pm BST). Smoke billowed out of a gaping hole in the 110-storey tower, which was damaged on at least two sides. Just 18 minutes after the initial explosion there was a second blast as another plane hit the other tower. Flames shot out of the side of the building and debris rained down. A witness to the first explosion, Jeanne Yurman, said she heard a sonic boom then looked out of her window to see an explosion. "I looked out and the side of the World Trade Centre exploded as I looked up. Debris started sailing down, I couldn't believe what was happening," she said. Another witness, Todd Harris, who saw the second explosion said that it looked like the second plane was lining itself up to hit the building. Thousands of pieces of what appeared to be office paper came drifting over Brooklyn, about three miles from the tower, another witness said. James Winter, 30, a British worker living in an apartment close to the centre, said he had been woken by a huge bang at around 8.50am local time. "I was in bed and there was a huge explosion. The whole building rattled and shook," he said. "I ran to the window and there was smoke billowing from the south side of one of the towers. Everyone in my building was panicking and running around." It is reported two United Airlines passenger planes were hijacked shortly before the strike - one was thought to be a 737 capable of carrying more than 100 passengers. Another is believed to be a Boeing 767 taken from Boston airport, the FBI said. A 767 can carrying up to 269 people. The first plane smashed into the top stories of the tower, leaving two gaping holes in the side. Minutes later another aircraft approached, turned in the air and crashed into the lower storeys of the second tower - the footage was seen live on TV stations around the world. The second explosion ripped through several floors. More than 50,000 workers would have been in the building at the height of the morning rush-hour. A person who answered the phone on the trading floor at interdealer-broker Cantor Fitzgerald, located near the top of the World Trade Center, said: "We're dying," then hung up. There was screaming and yelling in the background. A follow up call was not answered. If confirmed as a terrorist attack it would be one of the worst in history. must have been a CReW rig.. lol DB: I've always been a bit twitchy about using the locking loop and toggle for anything else then what it was designed for... although I did stow my lines in a similar way a while ago (passing exess line through the loop in the riser where the links connect to the canopy lines)... I now have had some elastic fabric sewn on the bach of the riser to stow the exess.. much cleaner in my opinion... Remi Muff 914

Hi Justin, lets keep it objective: my helmet rocks, all yours suck.. j/k I jump with a Z-1(the early model, not the one with the more protected hindges). Real easy to open and close the visor, unlike what I've seen / tried of the Oxygen (tough to open IMHO); Real good visibility (the others are good too I beleive); Poor customer service from the manufacturer (some dealers have also told me they have had troubles with Parasport Italia) as they never answered my emails when I was shopping for a helmet; Confortable fit. To sum up: really like my helmet (so does my wife... I'm talking about her own helmet, you pervs...) Then again the Extreme-Bass-Fishing helmet might be even better... Remi Muff 914

I'm gona be a great party-pooper here and say dont waste your time on a custom canopy.... A rig, yes (not so much for the colors but rather then the fit, so migh as well have colors that go very well with what you like). Why not for the canopies?: why wait for weeks and pay more then ordering something dealers have on stock and may be willing to sell for less to move their stock... Also, ther are lots a second hand mains out there with minimal use that represent a great bargain... I know its fun playing around with the color swatches (been there!), but its even better to save a few 100 bucks.... PS: none of the designs you have got purple, so I dont like any of them.. lol Remi Muff 914
