    Hello, I will be In Florida from November 4 through November 12. I'll be driving between Tampa and Jacksonville via Orlando. I'm taking my rig and I am looking for people to jump with somewhere in central or north Florida. Thanks!

    I am a parachutist that did my AFF training in Palatka. They named an award after me for drinking like a champ . I unfortunately will not be at the Hog Flop this year since I am currently living in Twin Falls, ID. You'll probably have a good time anyways!

    Surely there must be a freestander nearby that has similar height and landing areas. Why make your first A more complicated with guy wires for only 250 feet?

    I completely understand your feelings toward opening a new site, and it definitely would be an accomplishment. For me though it doesn't really matter whether I am the first to jump something or not, as long as I am not the last. The only reason I can think of why I would care if something has been jumped before is whether or not anyone is currently jumping it and has any insight on how to do it "responsibly" so it doesn't get burned.

    It is good practice to always double check the spot for yourself before exiting the plane.

    I don't understand why everyone was in such a hurry to exit the plane? In strong winds there usually is a need to slow down, in order to get better exit seperation between jumpers. Do not track up or down the line of flight.

    I'm going to try to make it to the boogie, but I bet the original Roaming Hogs won't be allowed to compete. We're just too good Spence, and you know they're scared!

    I suggest reading your local and State Statutes on tresspassing, and look for loopholes in the law. In my home state of Florida, I have been erroneously told that I was tresspassing more times then I can remember, since most people don't know the letter of the law (including the police).

    This morning I heard an ad on the radio for the Perrine Bridge Festival on September 15, 16, 17. Apparently its a big BASE jumping event among other things! Since the Royal Gorge is cancelled, is anyone coming to Twin?? I'm surprised I heard about it on the radio before seeing it on here. See you at the festival! -Adam

    New velcro rigs are being manufactured and available for purchase.

    I freefly my circa 1993 Racer with velcro. Some velcro rigs are not good to freefly, some are ok. My rig has excellent pin protection. Don't freefly a rig that has bridle velcroed to the outside of the rig; you want good bridle protection. Trust your instructors and your rigger, seek their advice and have them inspect any gear before you purchase it.

    I am in Playa Del Carmen right now, and I stopped by the office for the "dz" about a week ago out of curiousity since it is next to the ferry peir to Cozumel and I had some time before the next ferry. They told me it was tandems only, but my spanish is not all that good so maybe there was a miscomunication.

    It sounds like I'm going to miss out on another very fun weekend in Palatka. I am currently in København, Danmark, but I look forward to returning to Skydive Palatka and jumping with you all.

    The DZO and several of the regulars at Skydive Palatka are leaving to go to the Keys this weekend. Well, they are going to miss out on some awesome jumps back in Palatka. In addition to the regular free flying and RW, I'm going to buy a hoola hoop, and maybe we can launch another tube out of the Caravan.

    I don't remember Art, and I've never seen the video, so I think that means it never happened. Anyway, I have been recovering from a head injury with multiple fractures, and I am slightly concerned about the force of the wind in my face. By Friday I hope to have the doctor convinced that I'm good to go, but I am thinking a full-face helmet would be a good idea anyway.
