Because he publicly disrespected his employers (weight-lifting in his driveway while suspended the 1st time) and demoralized his entire team. If the Eagles didn't make a stand with him to make it clear to everyone that they won't tolerate that, that just makes them a future target for other prima donnas to pull the same shit. It's all about respect. obviously, but their choices are cut him now, or keep him on the payroll without playing for the rest of the season and cut him in the off season. -
How did you tell your parents you were having a baby?
Lindercles replied to Anvilbrother's topic in The Bonfire
i told my parents on april fools day, and then laughed. but my sister, who's actually having another one, was pretty creative. my brother in law had always said he was going to buy a boat when they had their second kid, so when my sister got pregnant again they made a shirt with a picture of a boat and a due date and dressed their 2 year old in it when they went and visited my parents. it took my parents a while to get it, but it was pretty neat. -
[jealous] sounds like a great time [/jealous] I've got a big family in San Antonio, which is only about an hour away. So we all get together for thanksgiving and then do christmas in our smaller nuclear family units. this year thanksgiving is at my parents' house, so i get to get there early to help cook. YAY! but this year, thanks to my new government job, i'm getting paid to eat thanksgiving dinner and play golf and watch the UT/A&M game on Friday.

really the only reason for just letting him go is to save face. it's possible that others players may see them screw him and not want to play for them in the future. and if they do cut him they get brownie points for being professional and considerate. in other words, they wouldn't cut him to do him a favor, they'd cut him to do themselves a favor. -

Don't count Dallas out yet. They're tied for their division lead (way ahead of washington and philly) and are on quite a win streak. I'm not saying they're going, i'm just saying it ain't over til it's over. -

now the question becomes, do they deactivate him for the rest of the season (he's still on the team and getting paid, but not playing) or do they just let him go so he can get picked up by another team and play the season out. On the one hand, they'd be out some money (about a million), and lose face, but they'd really get to screw him. On the other, they could just let him go and get it over with. He deserves to get screwed, but is it really worth it for the organization? -
will you be sleazing out of work early today?
Lindercles replied to SpeedRacer's topic in The Bonfire
Nope, out at four, just like every day. -
No working for me. I'll be getting paid to play golf. Thank you cushy government job!

the emails say that they've logged your IP on some illegal websites and that they want you to answer some questions which are in the attached file. of course, the file is an exe, which should be a giant red flag for most people

exactly. which is why i almost fell for it. but i'm sure it's worked on lots of people.

http://www.cnn.com/2005/TECH/internet/11/22/email.scam.ap/index.html Someone's been sending viruses via email pretending to be the FBI and the CIA. I've gotten two already. I'm relatively computer savy and I almost fell for it (frankly, who doesn't do a couple of illegal things online these days?). If you get one of these, DELETE DELETE DELETE

I'm guessing most texans don't give a crap about us freaks in Austin.

Ok, no one can deny that the Big XII is down this year, but that's no reason to count it out altogether. Let's not forget that the Big XII has been one of the powerhouse conferences of that last 10 years, and while it may only produce one or two contenders each season, it's perennially a strong conference top to bottom. This Texas team may have had a bit of an easy trip through the Big XII this year (with 3 top 25 opponents), but it cut it's teeth on much harder teams. They didn't get to be this good playing powderpuffs. And the Big XII will be back, let there be no doubt.

i'm assuming these numbers are just the last digit in the final score....?

There is no, "at least." Would you say the same about a woman's moustache? That shit's gotta go. Oh, and, um...
