The double standard is jarring though isn't it? Have you ever listened to rght wing talk radio or watched any Fox news opinion show? They are basically outrage factories. Every single day they need something to be scared of or mad at. Were you even awake during the Trump campaign? Foreign Communist Obama, Lyin' Ted Cruz, Crooked Hillary, lock her up! Even though he is a lifelong Republican, and he was appointed by Trump,* that's not enough to prove that he isn't part of the evil democrat conspiracy? So in your mind, Rush, only Devin Nunes who fundraised for Trump's campaign, served on his transition team and is one of his most loyal defenders, only Nunes is unbiased enough to carry out a fair and balanced investigation of matters surrounding the Trump campaign? Do you know how crazy you're being right now? Do you want to have an ideagasm?

All backed up by docs and interviews. Docs that you haven't seen and interviews that you haven't heard. The providers of the documents and the interviewees also contend that the conclusions of the memo are biased and unjustified. So why do you 100% believe that the conclusion of a member of Trump's transition team are entirely accurate and unnaffected by partisan support? Call me crazy but I'm pretty sure that Mr Mueller has both read some documents and interviewed some people in the course of his investigation. Probably a fair few more documents and more people than Nunes did. So why are you 100% sure that investigation conducted by a Republican, non-elected official, is being conducted entirely as a result of Democrat partisan bias? Do you want to have an ideagasm?

Just stop and think to yourself for a moment how ridiculously stupid that statement is. You can only investigate something you already know has happened... It's not so hard, Rush, just pick one. Pick one specific law that has definitely been broken... What was Flynn trying to keep hidden that he had been caught doing with the Russian ambassador? Do you want to have an ideagasm?

And the thing is, even if Nunes' memo is entirely correct and the FBI did abuse the law and mislead the court in gaining the warrants, is there any evidence that it was politically biased, or just something that regularly happens? Did they go in with a significantly lower standard of evidence than usual? Nobody knows, it's a secret court. Have they justified other warrant requests with similar third party dossiers? Nobody knows, it's a secret court. Have they received warrants to spy on Democrats using intelligence supplied by Republican affiliated or funded organisations? Nobody knows, it's a secret court. The fact that (if there was something wrong with the warrant request) it is being treated as a partisan problem is mind boggling. It's just a natural consequence of secret legal systems with secret oversight inevitably creating a broken system. Have none of these people read Kafka? Do you want to have an ideagasm?

What I don’t understand about the whole thing is that the FISA court is quite literally a rubber stamp institution. The NSA doesn’t need to tell the Judge who they want to listen to, let alone why. For the FBI it may be different but still, since 1978 and 34,000 warrants later only 12 have ever been denied, and most of those subsequently approved in revised form. It makes the proverbial prosecutor/grand jury/ ham sandwich anecdote look like a titanic struggle in comparison. So why on earth would the FBI need to lie to a judge and abuse the system to get the surveillance up? They’ll give the go ahead for whatever the hell you ask for anyway! Do you want to have an ideagasm?

Why are you saing "appointments" plural? For the first 5 years of his presidency Obama appointed ZERO people to position in the FBI. The office of Director was held by a Republican who was appointed by George Bush. For the last three years he made one - James Comey. James Comey the Republican, who delivered an anti-Clinton bombshell during the election cycle. Why do you think either of those people would be motivated to fill the upper levels of the FBI with Pro-Obama, anti-Republican agents? Frankly this need to be a victim that you have, which generates a paranoia that anyone not directly appointed by Trump must be politically corrupt and part of an anti-Trump conspiracy is really fucking disturbing. The idea that Trump will be vulnerable to scheming, Obama supporting saboteurs until he has filled every level and agency of government with his own apparatchiks and yes-men is incredibly dangerous. That's not what happened to Flynn though, is it Rush? Flynn wasn't charged because he said one thing today and another thing tomorrow - he was charged because he said something that was materially and provably different to what he had actually done. You do understand the difference, right? You don't need to have a fucking good memory to remember having asked the Russian ambassador to alter his country's policies only 3 weeks prior to being interviewed about it. You just need to be not senile. You do recall that even Trump has publically admitted the fact the Flynn lied, right? Not forgot, not mispoke, wasn't entrapped, but flat out lied. Even Trump. Rush, being questioned by the FBI is not a trap. It's what they have to do when there is reasonable suspicion that crimes may have been committed.The FBI didn't make him lie, he decided to lie to them - knowing full well it was illegal. You sure are a dreamer. Every time somebody is asked have they seen any evidence they all say no. Everyone's seen the evidence of what I just said. You've seen it. We all have.
