Ah, no. That should say ‘does not mean’. sure it’s a typo but I’m surprised you could t figure that out from the context.

You know, apartheid hold-out Eugene Terrblanche’s best friend in the world was his black butler. There’s a thing about anyone prejudiced that they always find exceptions in the people they get to know. Because prejudice is irrational, right? Women are just as smart and capable as men, black people are as smart as whites people etc etc. Anyway, no-one said Trump is a misogynist because he doesn’t employ women (I have no idea what his record is in that department), he’s a misogynist because he sexually assaults them and brags about it, and because he sold their rights down the river for political favour.

Since you’re unable to say why you disagree I’m going to stick with it. Righties are not better able to recognise what’s going on in the world because they won an election. Being competent at propaganda and understanding reality are two completely different things. Otherwise you’d be saying that this year righties understand logic and reality better than anyone else, but four years ago they didn’t have a clue what was going on, but 4 years before that they knew everything about the world, but 4 years before that they had no idea etc etc. doesn’t make any sense. No, that’s a stupid assumption that seems to be a projection of your own view of Ukraine as simply a plaything for bigger global powers. I would prefer we support them properly until they decide. It would be the opposite of pragmatic to assume, as you do, that they would definitely insist on fighting right up to the inch of the previous borders. Maybe they would, maybe not. Taking Crimea back but losing some chunk of the current occupied territory might be something they can live with. Taking enough softer, less well defended Russian territory that they can trade it back for the parts of Ukraine Russia has been digging into may be another option.

Nice dodge, but which is it? Did you get fooled by someone else selectively quoting Putin or did you selectively quote him yourself to try and fool us? More to the point it really does sound like he prefers the idea of talking to Trump than fighting Harris, doesn’t it?
-
'Oh get over it, we've always been misogynists' is not the defence you think it is.
-
Brent: [Says something]. Other person: That's not directly relevant because of factors a, b, c and z, Brent: [Says exact same thing again] And checkmate!
-
Cool, but you instead voted for the people who push for doing the absolute opposite. You voted for the person who said the police should first beat the shit out of those people before taking them to court to be ground down even further. While whining that it's really the guy who says all other suspects but him should be batoned in the face who is being harshly treated.

More like she said she said she said (and he said it's exactly what he usually does) vs he said.

It didn't originate from the system though, did it? Prosecutors didn't conjour it out of thin air, did they? It originated from a female victim who has told her story for it to be judged on its own merits and in the context of everything we know and have seen alleged from multiple indpendent sources about Trump's repeated behaviour. Pretending it just came from 'the system' is nothing but a salve for your conscience. Which is fair enough in a sense - it really should need salving. You've looked every survivor of sexual violence in the USA in the eye and told them "You know what darling? I just don't give a fuck." Anyway, on another note I'm sure you'd agree that the entire US prison system should be redesigned to be far kinder to prisoners, with shorter sentences, more support and services available to them while inside and no prohibitions on potential employment when released - since most of them are just innocent victims of a dishonest system. And what about that CRT and the 1619 Project? Turns out they were absolutely right - the system isn't fair and justice isn't blind. If it can so maliciously and unfairly prosecute Trump in the full glare of the media spotlight then it would be the height of stupidity to claim it doesn;t do the same to black people no-one's looking out for.
-
Clearly, they do. People not in power don't get their own hand picked Judges and Justices giving them immunity. When have you ever in the history of American justice seen someone charged with just one count when 150 would do? Nice to see that you agree that he should have been charged with a crime because he did a fucking crime though. Not sure where it leaves your point.

He is the power that be's. Galileo wasn't the President of Italy and he didn't appoint the head of the Catholic Inquisition because he was just a scientist. Socrates wasn't the Archon of Greece and he didn't appoint anyone anywhere in the government because he was basically a really annoying tramp. This entire conversation is fucking insane.

There is not one single person in the USA who is a more strongly embedded member of the establishment than Donald J Trump. He was born into a billionaire family. He attended private boarding schools and an Ivy League college. He was President. His allies control congress. His daughter in law chairs the Republican party. He appointed the Director of the FBI who oversaw the raid on his property. He appointed half of the Supreme Court who invented legal immunity for him. He appointed the Judge who was hearing and out of nowhere dismissed his most serious case. But sure, he's exactly like a black man fighting for civil rights in the '60s. What in the seven blue blazes of Jesus, Mary and Joseph the fuck are you talking about?

Uh, yeah exactly, that 'vast' 0.7% is doing some really heavy lifting.

Right, it is indeed liberal philosophy because it makes sense, unlike what you are trying to peddle. The viewpoint changing from the righties on here as soon as the results came in is hilarious. Before the election not one of you who said Trump would win said that the result would be down to anything but 'the economy, stupid' and that it would be in spite of all of Trump's antics. Now the result has come in and you're all shouting 'see, MAGA is right about everything and the entire liberal philosophy is doomed!' It's absolute bollocks. Not sure where all of it came from, but whatever - how about more land than they had before the current invasion? https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2023/02/22/ukraine-crimea-russia-putin-red-line-00083857 https://www.atlanticcouncil.org/event/the-case-for-ukraine-retaking-crimea/ So there's two options here - first, you saw a simple quote and didn't bother to look beyond the way it was fed to you, or second, you know what Putin actually said and you're lying about it to save face. Putin said that the leaders of Western liberalism who are currently trying to defeat him have pushed things to a dangerous line. About Trump, he said things like "He behaved, in my opinion, in a very correct way, courageously, like a real man," and "What was said about the desire to restore relations with Russia, to bring about the end of the Ukrainian crisis, in my opinion this deserves attention at least," So on this subject please do what liberals do and make your points based on what reality actually is, not what you would prefer it to be.
-
Vast? That is some take. Is it basic maths or the meaning of words that the Army doesn’t teach you?
-
Yea, that is an Orwellian take. Trump has the best policies for business which is why the corporate world supports Harris. Harris has corporations and media on her side which is why Trump has the world’s richest corporation owner and media boss in his administration. Yeah, sounds legit.
-
You mean conservative minds just won the election by promising the unachievable and uncontrollable. Convincing people that reality is not what it is does mean that you have changed reality into what you say it is. Tough to say that when full scale military aid and a gloves off permit to the Ukrainian military hasn’t yet been tried. They’ve been fighting with two hands tied behind their backs this whole time and have had truly remarkable success. We’re just getting them started with access to something approaching a genuine western style combined arms capability and the rug will be pulled out from under them by your champ. Not to mention the current stalemate is a direct result of the months long pause in arms supply by MAGA Mike that allowed Russia to dig in, re supply and launch their current offensive. Remember that juuuuuust before that happened their was so much real optimism about Ukrainian progress. They were in the verge of completely isolating Crimea. Now the Right have deliberately made it so much more difficult for them to fight and you’re pointing to the results as proof they can’t fight. It’s insulting. It means you were obviously talking bollocks when you said Putin didn’t want Trump to win. Unless you honestly think Putin would rather keep fighting a well armed Ukrainian military with the Dems in power than be gifted the enormous win you have just described with Trump in power. Again, does that logic really make sense to you?
-
Oh honey, you think people aren’t watching your videos because they can’t?

Just making it not an incredibly arduous mission to vote would be a major improvement. Let alone the voter suppression efforts involving purging the voter rolls, the effort involved in going to vote on Election Day in many places in the US is utterly insane. People turning up at 11 in the morning and casting their vote in late afternoon. In a lot of big cities if people haven’t postal voted they’d need to take an entire day off work to go and vote, and poor people can’t afford a day off. That’s a heck of a way to discourage a certain type of person from voting. Its fucking crazy and utterly indefensible. I’ve never waited in line more than a couple of minutes to vote.
-
And given what’s just happened - Dem strategists must be right?
-
No, if Putin says he prefers Biden it doesn’t mean anything at all. Putin’s public statements are completely untrustworthy. That’s so obvious it’s very embarrassing that you missed it. We can assume Putin supports Trump because Trump and the rest of the MAGA movement support cutting off weapons supply to Ukraine and pushing for a peace deal that involves Putin keeping all the territory he has seized. A peace which would last until Putin has rebuilt his forces enough to launch his next attack. Needless to say - that’s a much better outcome for Russia than if Harris was elected and MAGA Mike was no longer speaker. Trump has called Putin a genius and very savvy for invading Ukraine. He’s regularly called him a strong leader, he’s called him a better leader than the US President. He gushingly compliments Putin on a regular basis. Someone saying he his smart enough to remember that his government runs widespread election disinformation campaigns across western democracy and therefore he shouldn’t only tell the truth does not really compare. That’s because logic should be used as a way of understanding what is really happening in the real world. The world in which all of Trump’s public statements on Russia and Putin as well as the actions his acolytes in Congress have already taken make his election a far better outcome for Putin than if it had gone the other way. If we were instead using logic to twist the world into appearing to be something it’s not - y’know, like righties do - then sure, Putin loves the Dems and wanted them in office because he really enjoys the challenge of fighting a well armed and supported Ukraine. Does that logic make sense to you?
-
How much have you actually heard the Dems talk about woke, though? Not the right wing media screaming that everything is woke, but actual Dems saying woke things? As SkyDekker points out though, who knows what you or anyone else s talking about when you say 'woke' anyway. Last year the BBC revamped the cast of a long running quiz show to try and appeal to a younger audience, and one of the changes was to replace the female host with a middle aged, working class white man.... and the right wing media whined that they were going woke. Go figure. You've just spent 6 months telling us it was the (supposed) state of the economy that would do that. Were you bullshitting then or are you bullshitting now?
-
Yes, you must be so excited at having played your part in making history. The very first convicted criminal, known rapist and leaker of nuclear secrets to foreign nationals to be elected President. You'll be taught about in schools for decades to come.
-
In the first Trump campaign they said the best thing about him was that he was so rich he wouldn't need corporate donors and that's why he's so different and great! In this Trump campaign they cut out the middle men and invited the worlds richest corporation owner directly into the inner circle of the administration in exchange for his support. And the MAGA people said yes! That's exactly what makes you so different and great!
-
Doesn;t make any sense though, does it? Politicians on the right tell people to vote right wing. Right wing media tells people to vote right wing. Republican politicians don't like people voting Democrat like Dem politicians don't like people voting Republican. The only difference is that most or all Democrats are capable of accepting that people did in fact vote Republican, while many Republicans will go to their graves claiming that the Democrats who voted against them don't even exist.
