Included what?

Trump has explicitly stated on numerous occasions that he will ignore any protections the constitution gives to the people against government action. He says he will use the DOJ to harrass his political enemies. He says he will use the army against his political enemies. He says the police should beat up suspects. He says immigrants should be deported without due process. Why are proudly supporting the trampling of people's rights, while complaining about the granting of rights, when you claim that your point is that rights should be safeguarded?
-
Except it is, because we live in the real world where the decisions of 'very right' partisan assholes in black robes have real consequences for real women. People are dying and being maimed, because it is about abortion. Yeah, they removed a right that does exist. Good to see you're realising your error. Well, they magicked up the right for a president to do whatever they want and be legally immune from the consequences. So they have already created the opportunity for the President to run roughshod over any of your rights, even if they tell him he can't, and there's nothing that anyone can do to hold him to account.

He's wrong. Putin doesn't for a moment believe any of his rhetoric about NATO being an aggressor that threatens Russia's borders. He's a far more astute political operator than that. He does care about NATO eroding Russia's sphere of influence (or rather, previous vassal states defecting to NATO and the west of their own accord), but that's a very different thing. Who?
-
Oh yeah - nothing speaks to an authoritarian zeal for control over the populace more than, uh, creating rights the government is not allowed to infringe. Now the people who decide to remove those rights - clearly they are the ones who truly love and cherish your personal freedom. Im glad we had this little chat, Mr Orwell.

Elon Musk, Trump, Security Concerns for America
jakee replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner
He says he’s going to put RFK in charge of medicine, drugs and vaccines so yeah, there are no limits. Clearly the message is that the only concern of a Trump presidency is to serve himself and his loyal backers and there will be zero fucks given about anyone or anything else. -
Billy had his psychological issues and money troubles for years and years and years. He had his gun for what, 3 months before using it? Correlation doesn’t imply causation but it winks very heavily in its general direction.
-
Who? Of course he doesn't. The only two people here who did were banned long ago for being completely mental.
-
You are right about the baked in russian view of history. Honestly though, I think the notion that Putin's actions in Ukraine stem from a genuine fear for Russian security owes more to Kremlin propaganda than what is actually going on.

Remember that political bribery is legal now - so you could aim to clear a lot of Judge’s salaries in one term. Then as a guaranteed route to the SC - gravy train, baby.

Margaret Sanger’s contribution to progressive politics was to campaign for women to have access to contraception. Thank you Brent, for confirming that no matter what lies they tell the current Republican movement does indeed view access to condoms and the pill as a socialist evil to be stamped out as soon as possible.
-
So you’re just going to skip straight over the demonstrable stupidity and ignorance of the quote you posted and just continue to pretend like you’re some kind of authority?
-
But remember, it's those damn sneaky Democrats who are gaming the justice system. When has a corrupt quid pro quo ever been quite so blatant?
-
The funny thing is that at exactly the same time Brent is arguing that Fascism is Socialism, Winsor is arguing you should vote Fascist to prevent Socialism, and they will both back each other up without a hint of irony.
-
Maybe stop telling people to vote for him then.
-
Which makes it doubly odd that the lesson you're taking from history is that people were right to vote Nazi to make sure the Communists stayed away. If nothing else, your willingness to sacrifice yourself for the greater good is commendable, I suppose.

What makes you say that? Let's look at reality vs just one of your claims here: On 2 May 1933, Nazis stormtroopers raided trade union buildings throughout Germany. Union leaders were abducted, imprisoned, and tortured. And union assets and properties were seized. Independent trade unions were replaced with a Nazi-controlled German Labour Front, which served as a propaganda tool for the regime and its hate-filled ideology. The Nazi ban on free trade unions not only deprived workers of collective bargaining and representation, it also removed a bastion of democracy and freedom that stood in the way of the Nazis’ total control over German society. It was an early step in their rule of terror and antisemitism. https://www.tuc.org.uk/blogs/ninety-years-nazi-ban-free-trade-unions-lessons-remain-relevant-us-today It would seem like you don't have the first clue about politics or history. I mean for fuck's sake, it's even in Niemoller's poem - "Then they came for the trade unionists And I did not speak out Because I was not a trade unionist" What possessed you to write something so ignorant and so wrong?
-
Oh sure, because y'know, absent the Nazi angle it's a totally normal and politically acceptable Republican thing to complain about how shit the US military is against the obviously far superior European armed forces.
-
What PA do you imagine you've been the victim of? Did any of those actions happen before Franco and his pals started a war? Regardless, what the actual fuck does it have to do with Kamal Harris, outside of right wing media convincing gullible idiots that she's a Marxist? So... post war West Germany was better than East Germany which means people were right to vote for Hitler and that's why Kamala Harris is bad? Word salad. You are the best I've ever seen at saying absolutely nothing at all.
-
I’m not going to say I’m surprised that you are a literal Nazi apologist, but I didn’t expect you to let your facade slip far enough to actually say it out loud. See that is actually a great point seeing as Harris is a paid up member of Antifa and BLM. Wait, she actually has nothing to do with them and you’re talking utter shite as usual? Go figure.

Post trump Legal Actions, Including his Enablers
jakee replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner
"In addition to the Trump campaign fees and the New York apartment, Giuliani must also turn over a collection of several watches, including ones given to him by European presidents after the September 11, 2001, attacks; a signed Joe DiMaggio jersey and other sports memorabilia; and a 1980 Mercedes once owned by the Hollywood star Lauren Bacall." Y'know, Republicans are always so concerned about how any Dem politician manages to make more than rent money over the course of their career, and there was Giuliani using his position as New York mayor to solicit luxury personal gifts in the wake of the worst terrorist attack ever. What a guy. -
One good thing here is that they may have accidentally sabotaged their own get out the vote campaign. Because Trump fetishises wealth over principles, his GOP have diverted all their grassroots campaign funding that normally would have gone to local branches to coordinate their activists, to Musk’s PAC to run the entire national campaign. So instead of Republicans who believe in the cause going door to door, they’re paying (presumably) minimum wage temps to do it instead. And what do people left to their own devices at a temp job they don’t give a shit about do? They cheat! https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024/oct/22/trump-ground-game-door-knock-hack-gps Donald Trump’s ground game in Arizona and Nevada may be undercut by canvassers working for America Pac using GPS spoofing to pretend they have knocked on doors when they haven’t, according to multiple people familiar with the practice and a leaked how-to-fake-location video. The ramifications for Trump may be far reaching, given America Pac has taken on the bulk of the Trump campaign’s ground game in the battleground states, and the election increasingly appears set to be decided by turnout.

Fox coverage of Waltz has been the definition of toxic masculinity, and also a great example of how it hurts men. The Fox hosts (who lest we forget are a bunch of guys paid to sit behind a desk and wear makeup) say that Walz, who’s successful, a veteran, a football coach, a hunter, knows how to change his own oil and keep a classic car engine running, appears to be a genuinely nice guy and great dad, and even his damn dog is a rescue from a shelter… they say women will never like him because he isn’t an ‘alpha male’. Why isn’t he an alpha male? Because he waves funny and drinks milkshake from a straw. Think about it for half a second and this idea that there is a single, all encompassing standard of manly behaviour and body language that men have to live up to every minute of the day if they want to be worthy of female affection… it’s fucking insane. Imagine the pressure it would put on a young single guy who did believe them.

In what way exactly is that analogous to Trump threatening to deploy the army against his domestic political enemies?
