  1. If the Republicans do take the House and Senate while Trump loses, it'll prove that their craven pandering (such as the excuses made for him above) to this criminal, amoral, un-American scumbag who is uniquely and obviously unsuited to any public office is one of the greatest self inflicted wounds in the history of politics. Given that so many Americans do take the simplistic view that it's Biden's fault the economy has been so tough, they really could have nominated literallyanybodyelse.com and taken an easy win.
  2. It's stunning how shallow your view of economics is. Trump inherited an excellent and growing economy and didn't do anything to destabilise it too badly until Covid hit. Biden inherited a global crisis and dealt with it better than most of the rest of the developed world. But what does Trump want to do now? Strongly inflationary policies involving huge price hikes on all consumer imports and the hits on US exports that will inevitably follow.
  3. Let's try something else from this election, not something that an indeterminate Roosevelt might have said 100 years ago. Luke Meyer was Trump’s regional field director for western Pennsylvania. Online, he was the white nationalist Alberto Barbarossa and a co-host of Richard Spencer’s podcast. A Trump campaign staffer was unmasked as a neo-Nazi, virulent white supremacist - and after being outed confirmed that all the things in Trump's speeches that sounded a bit Nazi were put there by other Nazis. "“Like the hydra, you can cut off my head and hold it up for the world to see, but two more will quietly appear and be working in the shadows,” Meyer wrote. “Slating Trump to speak at [Madison Square Garden], putting ‘poisoning the blood’ in his speeches, setting up Odal runes at CPAC, etc. In a few years, one of those groypers [white supremacists] might even quietly bring me back in, with a stern warning for me to ‘be more careful next time.’” And Brent is the only person in the room still struggling to figure out why he wasn't working for Harris.

    Trump

Pennsylvania has taken Musk to court to block his random $1M giveaways to people who sign his voting pledge on the basis that it's an illegal lottery. His defense? "Oh don't worry - it's rigged!" Elon Musk’s lawyer says $1m-a-day giveaway winners not chosen at random
  5. Leaving aside this is the same shit you pulled with the ‘Hillary is more evil’ without ever saying why (you just really hate women I guess), my one favourite thing about the end of this election season is that Trump is so dumb he thinks he invented IVF.
  6. GOP affiliated pollsters have been creating jerry rigged polls with far more pro-Trump results than average, so when they lose certain battleground states they can point at those results and say ‘hey look! We were up by 5 and then lost so it must be rigged!’ The man is a cancer on the nation and he is metastasising.
  7. Trumps attorneys were just getting spanked in court while trying to bar a county from accepting mail in ballots handed into county offices - which they are absolutely legally allowed to do. Ever since the hanging chad fiasco the IS attitude towards counting votes is really, really fucking strange. The idea that it’s ok to create arbitrary and complex rules for filling out ballots then disqualify any vote that doesn’t exactly meet them is back-asswards crazy. The process of casting a vote is not a damn aptitude test, the system is supposed to be designed to simply find out which candidate more people want.
  8. Let's revisit this concept after Harris wins.
  9. Sure, but that’s because you just don’t pay much attention to reality.
  10. But luckily, not many are that fucking bad.
  11. Don’t worry, I’ll be your protector. I’ll protect you women from these condescending liberals. I’ll protect you from them whether you like it or not.
  12. While the State Attorney General is threatening to prosecute them with the full force of the law if they interpret it ‘correctly’? That’s not rhetoric, he would do it - exactly as the conservative politicians who wrote the law intended.
  13. No, that’s not true. The baby was still alive, but guaranteed to die. The hospital would not do anything because it would still count as an abortion, the mother was not yet sick, and they didn’t know where the line in the sand was. That is a deliberate feature of the law. The whole point is to make the limits so vague and the potential punishments so harsh that doctors would self sensor to the maximum extent, while giving state courts cover to leave the law in place because it doesn’t specifically say it’s that harsh.
  14. Is there a list of all the things Trump can’t do now he’s a felon? Like, he wouldn’t be allowed to get a job collecting the garbage at a school but he can be in charge of the department of education. He couldn't get a job as a janitor in a court house but he can be in charge of both the DoJ and the appointment of federal judges. And I bet 90% of his supporters would kick and scream against any attempt to allow other felons to find gainful employment after serving their time.
  15. Yes, we all know how important it is for you to avoid seeing anything that might make you think.
  16. Indeed not! Boeing would like to stress that they are quite capable of compromising on fundamental engineering merit in the simple pursuit of increased profit margin thank you very much.
  17. Yeah, the Dems really fucked up by nominating FDR again this year. What's that you say? He's been dead for a generation and you're only talking about him because you have absolutely nothing to back up your insane accusation that Kamala Harris is more like Hitler than Trump is? Yeah dude, it's really obvious. BTW, FDR wanted to join the fight against Hitler long before Pearl Harbour but damn near every Republican in the House and Senate refused to support any military intervention. So there you go - proof by your standards that the modern Republican party supports Hitler.
  18. The fact that all of your references are from 100 years ago proves that you know it isn't. You know that modern day neo-nazis will vote republican if they vote. You know that Trump is the candidate who embodies fascist rhetoric and policy. You just invent this wonderland nonsense soyou can justify supporting him anyway.
  19. It's not really clever enough to be interesting ; ) In the meantime, here is modern American fascism at work. Ballot drop boxes set on fire and hundreds of votes burned in Washington state
  20. There's been a major scandal in the UK over the last decade since the tabloid press were caught using all manner of illegal methods to break stories. Phone hacking, bribing police, stealing medical records, you name it. All the editors (including snivelling weasel Piers Morgan) avoided prosecution by claiming they never told anyone to do anything illegal and never checked on journalists' sources so couldn't possibly have known what was going on. Right - they tasked their employees with publishing the most secret details about the lives of politicians, celebrities and even crime victims and made it crystal clear that no-one would ever check how those details were obtained... so it's not their fault. A nod's as good as a wink to a blind man.
  21. How much does that sound like Fox, Trump and Putin? How much does that sound like the right's fetishisation of strongman leaders today? How much does that sound like the Maga movement begging Trump to be a dictator on day one?
  22. That's a very roundabout way to admit that your earlier slur against Harris was utterly false and that you know the fascist sympathisers are entirely on the modern right, but I suppose it'll have to do.
  23. Good to see you on the liberal team. Kindly explain to your right wing colleague where he made his mistake, he might listen to you.
  24. Right, but Jonah is like you - a professional bullshit artist whose actual job it is to say anything that denigrates the left and promotes the right. It's pretty clear that TK meant a reference from some sort of actualy scholarly research. I'll grant you he screwed up by saying "or other" - which obviously allowed you to retort with 'hey this guy I found shouting at birds while fishing old boots out of the dumpster agrees with me so victory is mine!' but I'm sure you'll agree that is the proverbial sound and fury, signifying nothing. For bonus points, is the current Italian ruling party, in power today, that genuinely idolises Mussolini from the right or the left? Even if I didn't already know, I guarantee you I'd have guessed correctly, though apparently you wouldn't. Why is that?

    Trump

Like Muslim leaders in Michigan getting on stage with Trump. It's unfathomable. I get that they feel betrayed by the dems for doing nothing to help them, but to throw in with the crowd that actively hates them and has spent a decade publicly demonising them instead? There is some serious looking glass shit going on in this election.
