All the territory he possesses. All the natural resource wealth he’s stolen. Access to global markets restored so that he can profit from it. No reparations for his wholesale destruction and heinous war crimes. No security guarantee to stop him reinvading in 4 years time when he’s rebuilt his army. According to Trump, that’s the deal that’s on the table.

What would you normally expect a 4 year senator who served in the minority, with the opposition party in the White House, to accomplish? Not advocate, actually accomplish? Get real, dude. What makes you think you have any idea what floor you're on? Your claim is that incredibly drastic action needs to be taken right now or it's too late. But to me an anecdote about the fate of a 250 year old wartime currency of a start-up nation isn't a particularly good reason to think that the US dollar is going to impode tomorrow.

I’ve heard that view before and it’s an interesting view. The combat leaders they actually had in Normandy and beyond (Winters/Spears) were almost universally loved and/or respected by the men… so the rush to give all the credit to the guy who was a dick is slightly strange to me. But he’s not though, is he? The mass firings have zero connection to DEI, zero connection to performance. He’s ripping acceptable staffing levels out by the roots, period. None of your vague platitudes change how shortsighted, dangerous and ultimately counterproductive and expensive that is.

You claimed that spending has no impact on the economy but taxes do. You have no evidence for this and you are plain wrong. We both know you are wrong, because you just agreed with Bill that Trump’s spending cuts will drive the US towards recession. Everything else you said in the post I was replying to relies on the assumption that what you said about taxes and spending is true. It’s not true, you know it’s not true, so nothing else you said needs a response.
