Heal up fast kiddo, and look at the bright side, when your ready and healed, the weather will be perfect, ie not 103 degrees, not 100% humidity, nice and cool with wide open blue skies. As soon as you can, you should get on out to the DZ, it helps when your injured. Get well soon . Coming soon to a bowl of Wheaties near you!!

LoudDan replied to Kuper's topic in Events & Places to Jump
I just got back from the swoop comp at Texel, you will not be disappointed. For about 13 Euros you can stay in the bunk room at de keveit which is where all the skydivers and staff go to eat and party. Jumps are a little pricey, 15 euros for hop and pops from 5,000 and 23Eros from 13,500. The manifest is a little wierd to figure out at first, but after a time or two there is nothing to it. The island is great, and the food around there is fantastic. Have a great time. Coming soon to a bowl of Wheaties near you!! -

OK OK OK OK So there are these two guys sitting next to each other on a plane, and they each have a nice shiner on their right eye. So the first guy comments to the second on the likelyhood of this event and asks how the second man got his black eye. The second man responds, "It was a Freudian slip, when I got to the ticket counter this morning, I was attended to by a gorgeous, big chested, female agent. I intended to ask for a ticket to pittsburgh, but slipped and accidentally asked for a ticket to tittsburgh, at which point the agent slugged me in the eye. The first guy exclaims in amazement, I got my black eye because of a Freudian slip as well. I was sitting at breakfast with my wife this morning, and I meant to say "Honey, please pass the corn flakes" but I accidentally said, "You fucking bitch, you've ruinied my life". Go figure. I was going to take a really quick stab at Mark for pounding some pipe, and trying to get his pole in a hole, but ..................... Sometimes you just have to realize that while clubbing baby seals is fun, every now and then you have to give them a sporting chance to get their shit together..................... Whilst you go find a bigger club . (Rent's not due till the first so this should be good) Coming soon to a bowl of Wheaties near you!!

I got laid while driving on the autobahn, 180 kph (about 110 mph). Not the smartest thing I've ever accomplished, but it seemed like the only option at the time. You know naked, horny girl, me, the open road, open zipper............

LOUDDAN = Coming soon to a DZ near you, and your question will me answered. Actually, I'm just loud, not to be obnoxious or anything, I have worked aircraft open-line maintenance for almost 12 years, my hearing is good, I'm just used to being in an environment where you must project your voice in order to be heard over the jet engines. When i get all shitty drunk, I just forget about the jet engines that aren't usually around. I have stopped a few people from walking into spinning props by yelling and getting their attention though, its my blessing and my curse. I live out loud, its the only way to be. Anyway Hans Paulsen and his wife Sandy dubbed me LOUD DAN. Coming soon to a bowl of Wheaties near you!!

Nate Gilbert Nationwide Sunset Tracking Dive Saturday
LoudDan replied to chutingstar's topic in Events & Places to Jump
We put together a two-pass tracking dive at ASC with 23 people. Mike G and Kenny Pugh organized everything beautifully, and Katie led us on the first pass. We honestly though we would have to wait until Sunday, but right around 6:30 all the tandems and students left because of the weather, at 7:30 the sky opened up for us, at sunset we were in the air with our brother again. It was beautiful, everything was just the way Nate would have liked it, towering cloud formations, a full load of trackers, and Katie leading us home. Right after the second pass landed, the clouds moved back in, and the sun was set. There were some tears in the landing area, but there were a few smiles too. After such a gorgeous tracking dive, you just knew Nate was right there with us..........smiling like always. Coming soon to a bowl of Wheaties near you!! -

I can't think of anything Nate would like more........ I'm there. Man I miss him.... Coming soon to a bowl of Wheaties near you!! -
Ian, I won't tell him that the trick is to make a hole in the ground, slightly smaller than the diameter than the PVC pipe, and then lightly tap the motherfucker in. I'm interested to see his response as I have already paid the rent...... Coming soon to a bowl of Wheaties near you!!

To know Nate Gilbert was truly an experience I wish everyone in the world could have felt. For skydivers he was pure inspiration at all levels, never a negative comment because all he wanted was for everyone to excel at the sport he loved so dearly. For those that knew Nate away from the dropzone, he was the same. Nate never had a negative word to say about anyone, and always wanted to make everyone feel welcome, and apart of the group. It didn't matter if we were going to a club in Atlanta, or Huddle house up the street for waffles, or El Nopal for dinner after a good long day in he sky, Nate was always getting people together, which wasn't hard because we were all drawn to him. My favorite memory of Nate is from when Katie and I were getting our "D" license requirements knocked out. Rick Bray was with us for a four way belly exit (yes I said belly). Since we were all freeflyers, Nate made us dirt dive the exit and the skydive probably 8 or 9 times. When it came time to exit the plane, we all took our grips, squatted in the door of the otter, gave our count, and just like that we were all on our heads in a four way round, and I was looking right across at Nate who just started laughing (I'll never forget that smile), which of course made the three of us start laughing. We got the dive back in some assemblance of docking, and everyone just laughed and smiled until breakoff. As proof the kind of majic Nate brought to every skydive, on the next jump (still working on D license skills) some how the three guys on the skydive all docked up and weighing in at somewhere around 600 lbs floated on poor Katie (probably 120 with gear on and soaking wet) who was laughing so hard she started carving around us. I remember being at El Nopal that night just going over and over how funny everything was, no one could figure it out, no one cared, everyone was smiling, we were just happy to be jumping with each other. Nate, I'll never forget you or the thousands of things you taught me on and off the DZ. I miss you bro, and I'll see you when I get there. Katie, Anything you need, anything I can do, please let me or one of us know. We are all here for. I'll see you in Michigan Tuesday night, TJ, Shannon, Jessica, Kenny and I are all coming up together. Stay strong, we love you. Dan Coming soon to a bowl of Wheaties near you!!

After spending the night at the hospital and leaving with hope in my heart, ...........getting the news this morning, .................the pain is imeasureable. For me not only was an amazing skydiver lost this morning, but a coach, a mentor, and above all else a friend. The hardest thing in the world was to see such a kindred spirit lie still, fighting with everything he had, but lying still. My heart brakes for Katie, Ian, Jason, and the rest of Nate's family, it's just not fair. I take some comfort in knowing that Nate went doing what he loved to do. I just miss my friend. What is that word that starts with a "J" in your last post? I've tried dictionaries in English, French, and German and have come up with nothing. I do want to commend you on your snappy come-backs though. With witty comments like those, who needs to spell correctly. You're my hero. Coming soon to a bowl of Wheaties near you!!
