Oh, this is soooo true. I've never had as much fun in bed as with my husband. We're always cracking up and not taking things seriously, just playing, exploring, and having fun. It's the best sex I ever had. And he damn well better agree. Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda

Hey, I'm marking today on the calendar. Paj just said I was right about something!!! Napalm was blatant murder. There was no one of consequence killed. Those that ordered the attacks at the time and the pilots that flew the missions knew it. The problem was not with the Japanese, it was with the emperor dude at the time who was seriously messed up in the head. I read a lot of history, and some of the things done in the name of war, by people of all faiths, is truly disgusting. Christian rules of engagement are happy thoughs, but never practiced. Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda

I read the entire rules of engagement thing and found it frighteningly warped. In a lot of ways. Using facts to support the arguement, by twisting things around. I'm definitely open to arguements along these lines, but I also want objective information, not taking history and geography and economics and bending the facts to fit the arguement. I detest the 'might is right' arguement that prevades this text. It used any way it could to justify US wars, and justify the winner of any war. History is written by the winners and is seldom the total facts. Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda
-
Does the winner really matter? Or the ethics? What about the constant barrage of napalm in Japan during ww2? More Japanese died that way than by Nagasaki and Hiroshima combined. We won, our country's ass was saved, but those that were killed were primarily women and children, the innocents. Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda

I took zero direct hits and bit 2 bullets. Apparently my beliefs about God are well thought out and internally consistent. Who knows if that is true or not. Sounds like happy horse pucky to me. Like astrology. Just about any interpretation can be read as true. Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda

I love the freedom from the jumble of thoughts that constantly run through my head regularly, freedom from the stress of work, from my long commute, and the constant interaction with other people. It is the freedom of being truly alone in the quiet of the sky. The freedom of having almost total control of my experiences in those few minutes. Jen Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda

This is like arguing that evolution is right and not creation without knowing crap about evolution (for the record, I do believe in evolution). Although I certainly agree with your stance, I also think that it is unfair to judge without at least trying to understand the other person's perspective. Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda

This is what bugs the living freaking crap out of me. What I believe is no one's business but my own, however a lot of patients have started beating me over the head with their Bibles, given me tons of prayers and brochures and lectures, without ever bothering to ask me what I feel about it to begin with. Before they even open their mouths, they decide that their view of the world and God is right, everyone else is misguided, and they have to be the one and only voice of reason. Hell, I had one guy try to convince me that after death, God put our spirits into robots. Go figure. Jen Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda

Florida Power and Light are FUCKING INCOMPETENTS

No one judged you. This thread was full of animosity from you, that's it. For all I know you are the picture of meditative peace and joy. I wouldn't know you from anyone else on the street. Hell, I've defended you more than once on this thread. Don't be pissy with me please. That is, well, really stupid. I get along with everyone. -

I did have a drug rep telling me what kinds of goodies he had in his trunk that day. Too bad he was a rep for eye drops Somehow I doubt that glaucoma meds would give PJ that kick we're looking for. Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda -

This is rather limited in scope and seems like you are not really stretching your brain cells here. Can you prove conclusively that you exist, that we exist, that everything around you is not a byproduct of your imagination or neurons? It is impossible. You can give hedgy supporting evidence, heartrates, etc. But you can never truly know for certain that anything is real and not neural noise or a big fat hallucination on your part. You can only go on your gut and what information you can garner. I may not agree with Christianity, but even I can see that some things are just not explainable in a sentence or two. Interesting quote. This I can wholeheartedly agree with. Wrapped in my husbands arms, both of us silent and still, absorbing the beauty of nature around us, feeling the sun on our faces or snow beneath our feet, that is when we are at total peace with ourselves and the world. Nothing goes through our minds but admiration of the beauty around us and not minds cluttered with everything else. If that is God, then yes, I believe in that. To me, at least, it is truly heaven and I could live all eternity that way. Togas and wings aren't my thing and halos would take way too much work to keep polished. Give me good earthy mud any day. Naaah, he won't be fired. Anchors are just faces, typically they mindlessly read the telepromter and don't do their own research. Granted he probably supported all this happy horse shit, but the blame will be pawned off on the background people if it is proven forgery. Jen Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda

I think that just about anything can be interpreted in any way that the person wants to. The Bible in its language and sometimes ambiguity is easy to construe in different ways. It's intent was not to prophesy who will win the election this year, it is a guideline to God (at least according to Christianity). I believe that it certainly gives details regaring the time of the end, as perceived by Christianity, but other than that, no specifics about historical details. To put this kind of post without supporting data and then refusing to read the thread is not exactly a valid way to address a debate. If the intent of this thread is to educate, please do so, give us the quotes so we can evaluate for ourselves. I do not believe that God has been insulted or blasphemied for the most part on here. Yes, the occasional ignornant post flies out, but even those who disagree with Christianity are typically respectful of the Christians on board here. Some of us are actively willing to learn more. One can never have too much information upon which to base their perceptions or decisions. Jen Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda

I can't believe this stupid thing is still going either. Of course, aren't I propogating that by wasting my time on this post??? PJ is anything but peaceful though. Such animosity. Can we send him an ebeer? Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda -
Because EVERY organ has the receptors for the neurotransmitters we are talking about (epinephrine, norepinephrine, etc), so they all get involved. Internal organs are rather stupid. They don't perceive sense or motion or change the same way the rest of the body does. So your body interprets it as best it can, the weight in the chest, etc. Jen Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda
-
Biochemistry/emotion affects respiration, heartbeat, vascular system digestion, anything along those lines. Basic body function organs. The chemicals released, epinephrine, seratonin, directly affect metabolic and respiratory and vascular function, not skeletal musculature. What you are feeling is your body's interpretation of these changes in pulse, blood pressure, heart rate (and regularity), respiration rate, vasodilation or vasoconstriction, etc. These things are not perceived the same way as skeletal muscle or skin perception. To some degree they are consciously controllable. You can regulate your breathing, which in turn affects heart rate. Which in turn gives the perception of 'turning emotion off.' For stress related GI issues, Immodium or whatever helps to decrease the GI response which also helps to decrease stress levels slightly. Jen Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda

Oooh, a typewritten shouting match. I wonder how that works? Or we could try a verbal thumb wrestling match (I'd win, I'm a really good thumb wrestler)? How about a verbal staring contest. Let's see who's emoticon blinks first... -
