I know EXACTLY how you feel. Our dog had something similar, the vet called it "Garbage Gut" Took 3 days of IV antibiotics and fluids and she was just fine. Still, she was pretty damn sick and it cost us almost $400. And he couldn't come up with a better diagnosis than "Garbage Gut" (we still kinda laugh about that - for $400 you'd expect at least something in latin)

Sorry - But I will be unemployed in 28 days and counting. Anybody need a skydiving safety engineer?

Help..Floatation gear question
ERICCONNELLY replied to paulagc's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Check with local marine supply places. There are a whole variety of pull to inflate type vests that could easily be worn under a rig. All that I know of use a CO2 cartridge. Here's one example from stearns (maybe the same one that SQ1 has) http://www.smith-root.com/store/6382.php -
From the CDC: That is greater than the fatality rate for skydiving which we all agree is a risky sport. Pregnancy is not without risk even in the Grand USA Edit to add source: http://www.cdc.gov/epo/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/00054602.htm

Thanks for the photo Mike. Bob looked old then even...

Just saw Bob on Saturday in Toledo, missed the oppurtunity to jump with him again. He's still a HOOT! Just wanted to bump this thread since I talked with him on this leg of his NW tour.

So this is what Wuffo's do....

Now that IS a HIjack (unless we get photos!)
-
He often comes to the DZ with me to chase rabbits while I jump. If you are ever in Toledo, let me know and I'll be sure to bring the hounds along (we have a very laid back DZ) Red

Most of these questions aer a matter of personal taste. I would caution against wearing goggles under a full face helmet as they can fog up. I use a full face for RW and a open face with dark tinted goggles for flying camera. but that's just my personal preference. Try B4 U Buy.

I used one for a year or so before I got a protrack. They work well, as others have said you get one warning altitude. These are a simpler design, with less electronics. Basically they are a tunable diaphragm that you set to trigger the BEEP at a given pressure (altitude). They will continue to beep as long as they are at that altitude. I had one jump where I had set mine warn at 3000 for a 3-way. Once we started climbing (we got to about 5000) the clouds moved in and we had to decend to get under the clouds. So, to make a long story of it – we ducked below the cloud deck and flew jump run at 3000 ft. My ditter kept going and going and going, for about 3 minutes as the pilot flew around trying to find a suitable “slot” in the clouds to drop us out. Not really a problem with the ditter, just a funny story that still makes my cringe at the thought of listening to BEEP BEEP BEEP for 3 f*n minutes. edit to add BTW I paid $25 for mine with dead batteries included. New batteries cost about $5

So my kid likes to watch me jump out of airplanes. Is this OK? Seriously, it is BS, and was only done to make the rest of the tax cuts easier to swallow (Hey - I'm getting something so it's OK if the other guys get something too.) But, since it's too late for the folks in FL to figure out how to read a ballot, I will spend my $$ on new gear for my now non-wuffo wife. E

I've seen this photo before. As stated it's a artists rendering (read photoshopped) pic. I don't care HOW strong the flaps are - That tail looks scary close. I don't think I would want to stand up on that wing. Anyone actually done this and lived to tell us about it?

Me on my front porch. (Well, it was taken from a little for away, but trust me, I'm there!)

Programmed - no doubt about it. Here's another photo taken at 13 months. Now b4 anyone calls CPS let me state - That was MY beer and he was just bringing it to me. (He's also very polite) Look at that photo and tell me he's not a born sky puppy! -

Right on.. My son (at 18 months old) has been at the DZ since he was 2 weeks old. He now wears a protec, goggles and puts on his backpack, then walks around with a practice rip cord saying ARCH-REACH-PULL. Pretty damn cute -
Vic is the MAN! If he goes over your rig, you know it's good. All the work he's ever done for me has been really 1st class and I don't doubt he looked inside my cells. After all, I did give $$ for it. Red

And I can't get Seattle TV! (normally not a bad thing)
