Does anyone know of a link to a video of George Bush's AFF jump? I think it was for his 75th birthday. I seem to recall that he bumped his head exiting a skyvan. I'm usually pretty good at searching things out but I can't find the video of the jump. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

You might check out this thread and consider contacting the guy that started it. He is building a canopy so I imagine he has lots of measurements you might be interested knowing http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4822192#4822192 "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

This site http://scrisc.com/ seems to have pretty good deals on equipment. I am looking for comments both good and bad about these guys. I know nothing about them and their site has nothing on their "About Us" page, it's blank. Are they good people to deal with? What's your experience with them? I hadn't heard of histotoxic hypoxia so I did some looking and found this. I hate that coffee is on the list http://dhss.alaska.gov/dph/Emergency/Documents/ems/assets/AirMedCourse/EMS-F_Chapter4.pdf - Smoking (due to high baseline levels of carboxyhemoglobin)— 3 quick cigarettes or 1–1.5 pk/day = 2,000 foot physiological altitude. - Alcohol consumption (due to histotoxic hypoxia)—one ounce of alcohol = 2,000 foot physiological altitude. - Coffee (secondary to the stimulant effects of caffeine)—5 cups = 2,500 foot physiological altitude. Absolutely true. I need to look more closely at this pic... looks like they're wrong http://www.performancedesigns.com/images/galleries/malfunctions/content/side_by_side_large.html "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

Fair enough, not a problem at some DZ's. I was thinking of a situation where a DZ mentions toggle colours as part of the training. Oh we talk about toggle color for sure, lots. But what I've noticed is that when I am running the students through malfunctions they are focusing on the canopy so much they just never notice the toggles are the wrong colors. "Never" maybe an overstatement but after a full season of using those pictures maybe one or two students noticed and we teach a lot of FJ. Yeah, after all that work they did to get the shots, too bad about the toggles on main and reserve! (Don't know about everyone else's gear, but I'm more used to Yellow for main, Red for reserve, rather than the reverse.) Actually the students don't tend to notice. Their focus is on the canopies. The toggle color is more of an annoyance to me than a problem for the students. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
