  10. So the list is now: Lets see if I can guess the major points now: - we're winning - the insurgents are on the run - the new government in Iraq is great - the new government in Iraq needs continued support - the battle against terrorism must be won - we're winning the battle against terrorism - the battle against terrorism needs continued support - Social Security - borders and immigration - dependence on energy and alternate energy development. - the Iraq Constitutional issue - the trial dates of the prisoners held at Gitmo - accusations of abuse at Gitmo and elsewhere Is that it? Is the list complete? Add your own

  12. Well, maybe technically, but 78RATS is a well-known regular here, and his rant seems to have some underlying point or something. I think we can give him a little leeway... I don't think he was talking to you or me personally. Don't worry I don't take anything here in SC personally
  13. Referencing another post from today that many commented on, doesn't this fit the definition of trolling. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

  15. Got to agree with you. from this site http://www.factmonster.com/spot/sharks1.html In the U.S., your chances of getting killed by lightning are 30 times greater than dying of a shark attack. Bees, wasps, and snakes kill more people each year than sharks. Drowning, heart attacks, beach accidents resulting in spinal injury, sunburn, cuts from stepping on sea shells, dehydration, jellyfish stings, and traffic accidents going to or from the beach are all far more common than shark attacks. In 1996 in the U.S. there were 18 reported injuries and deaths from shark attacks, but 198,849 injuries from working with screws, nails, tacks, and bolts; 138,894 injuries from ladders; 43,687 injuries from toilets; and 36,091 injuries while pruning, trimming, or edging plants. Between 1959 and 1990, 5,528 people were stuck by lightning in the 22 coastal states (excluding Alaska) and Puerto Rico, with 1,505 fatalities. During the same period, there were 336 shark attacks in the coastal waters of those states, with 12 fatalities. In 1987, New York City reported the following number of people bitten by dogs: 8,064; other people, 1,587; cats, 802; rats, 291; squirrels, 95, raccoons, 11; ferrets, 7; skunk, 3. There were 13 shark injuries reported nationwide the same year. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

  23. I wear all of that plus an alti on my wrist. I like the chest alti for tracking (an old favorite, I've had it 28 years) and friends like it for RW cause they can see it. My wrist one is what I look at in freefall. Edit to add: I wear a jumpsuit all the time because I have to wear a brace from a skiing accident and I want to reduce snag points - plus I need everything I can so slow me down
  24. Normally the cross post police would be all over you on this but since you no intelligent answers to the posting on Bonfire I'll bet they let this one live. Sorry I have no good informaiton to provide on total numbers. The generally accepted number for Canadian skydivers is between 2,000 and 2,500 depending on the year. So pick something in between and call it 2,250 active skydivers in Canada. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
