  1. It gave me 17.6, what crap! Thats not fair. I am sure I can be up in the 20's if they took my skiboat and skydiving into account or had my 7.3 liter diesel truck with fourty inch tires listed. The most beautiful thing about diesel is that they don't test emissions on them. They "pollute" so much more than gasoline that its a pointless comparison. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. 2. I have a question. Being that I've always voted absentee, I wonder; does one just walk into a booth and vote without the vote being associated in an way with their name in particular? I.e. On my absentee ballot envelope my full name, address & signature appear. I wondered this the other day when it was brought up that, whether or not a person votes within their own party is unknown. This is how it happens in Oklahoma I assume its similar in other states that allow it. IN-PERSON ABSENTEE VOTING Voters may cast an absentee ballot in person at the county election board office from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Monday before all elections. For state and federal elections only, in-person absentee voting also is available from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. In-person absentee voters must fill out and sign an application form when they arrive to vote. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. 3. Or your entire state 14 states do not allow early or in-person absentee voting. (AL, CT, DE, MD, MA, MI, MS, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, SC, WA 15 states allow no-excuse early voting. (AZ, AR, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, LA, NV, NM, NC, ND, TN, TX, WV) If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. 4. I agree that a pre-nup is a must for somebody with assets that they care about. However, a pre-nup can not cover kids and unless the mother is a drug addict or something horrible, she will probably win in the event of a custody battle. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. 5. On 22 Dec my parents will have been married for 50 years. They're going back to where they went on honeymoon to celebrate. I believe love can be forever. t My parents will have been 40 years together in Dec 18. My fathers parents unfortunately will not make their 72nd wedding anniversary because my grandfather just died 3 days short of his 98 birthday, less than 2 weeks ago. Strangely enough my marriage lasted just under 4 years but I have been with my girlfreind living together almost that long. I've have come to have somewhat of a neutral stand on marriage. There is no doubt in my mind that true love does exist, I see that very much in my grandmother's reaction to my grandfather's passing. But I hate the institution of marriage the American way. I do see it as a way for a man to put everything he may have worked for his whole life on the line. A future bride could come along act wonderfully and then 3 years into the marriage change completely, destroy the marriage, take half of his property and most likely his kids (if they have any). What I am saying that that given that the American court system is so generous to the female divorcee, marriage from the male standpoint is a bad risk. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. 6. Not necessarily a reply to you, Steel, but to the "let's drop a nuke on North Korea" argument. I have a serious problem with this, especially considering my parents along with many other family members live in a northern suburb of Seoul and you can drive to the DMZ in about 30 minutes from their home. It's like dropping a nuclear bomb on Tallahasee and expecting the folks in Gainesville to be just fine and dandy. Not the most practical solution if you care at all about innocent lives. I haven't heard a single politician bring up the proximity of North & South Korea when they discuss the idea of nuking PyongYang. The two countries are located on the SAME FUCKING PENINSULA and it's about the size of Utah. Does this only occur to the people that actually live in Korea?? Thats certainly a valid point. But just as well, I don't think that we (the U.S.) needs nuclear weapons to destroy North Korea, (in the event that they were to Nuke us first). We didn't need to use nukes in Afganistan. 7. We bombed them when they were loaded with wacko Kamikazees that were attacking us. They have become very civilized since then and therefore have learned how much better their life can be for their citizens through hard work. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. 8. Then in 10 years, we'd have to disarm Japan and go through all these threads all over again. I disagree. Japan has the second highest GNP in the world, second to the U.S. They don't have it because they were lucky enough to have oil. They have freedom loving, capitalist minded people who have worked hard to get it. I just don't see them becoming a threat to us in the near future. I see them continuing as peaceful allies. I haven't researched it to confirm but I would bet that before world war 2 they weren't even in the top five GNP's. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. 9. Yeah I heard that this morning and thought it was somewhat scary because of the possibility that a city in the U.S. could be taken out in the event of North Korea dropping a nuke on it. But its funny that he is making this threat, because imediately afterwards, we the U.S. would wipe North Korea off the map. I am still thinking the best solution is to arm Japan and let them take care of the situation. I am sure they won't hold back. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. 10. So your point was that your personal attack did nothing more than display your ignorance and therefore should be ignored. Ok atleast we agree on something. 11. No you missed it, by a response, I don''t mean clicking reply, I mean actually addressing the post. But when someone is so assinine that they are posting nonsense. There should be no response to the content, as I did. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. 12. You should be happy with that!!! Their inclusion raises the average IQ of Hispanics by 5.6%!!! PROOF!!! Some people are so intellectually thought provoking that they deserve a response. Others are the exact opposite. Thats why there isn't much to say here. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. 13. I agree its good to get down to detail. But lets be honest do you honestly think that Mayans and Aztec don't have more in common than Aztecs and Spanish. If you prefer, I will use the term Amerindian and include the Cherokees, Seminoles, Incas and so on. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. 14. I am not getting what is funny about that. Are you suggesting that its not accurate? If so are you saying that there are more Spanish/European descendents or less? Even if you disagree with it by 5, 10 or even 20%, still the overwelming majority of the people there are either completely Aztec or mixed with Aztec and yet they would still prefer to call themselves Spanish/Hispanic than Aztec. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.
  15. Most Mexicans I have ever met display some signs of European ancestry. Why is it that non-white lineages trump white ones? I am not sure what you mean by non-white lineages trumping white ones. Anyhow, only 9% of Mexicans descend entirely from Spain (are Hispanic not partially Hispanic or completely Aztec) and they are the well to do Mexicans that tend not to leave. From the CIA world fact book. Ethnic groups: mestizo (Amerindian-Spanish) 60%, Amerindian or predominantly Amerindian 30%, white 9%, other 1% https://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/geos/mx.html If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. 16. They shouldn't have to - they're not. The old British Empire was, even centuries ago, all about multiculturalism. The English were English, the Indians were Indians, the Scotts were Scotts, Welsh Welsh, etc etc etc. The fact they had laws made by the same Parliament didn't change their national identities and there weren't any moves to do so. As for the language thing - go to India now. Everyone speaks English. It is the de facto lingua franca. It saves a billion people from having to constantly translate between Hindi, Urdu, Tamil, Bengali, Gujarati, Nepali, Manipuri, Punjabi, etc etc etc. Same probably went for the languages of Central and South America - over centuries the language of the ruling elite simply won out over the old variant mother tongues because it solved the communication problems which came with greater population mobility and international communications. I was not suggesting that they should. It gets on my nerves when I hear people who obviously did not descend from or even shortly live in Spain call themselves Spanish or Hispanic. However, the fact that so many of them do, shows that the hatred of their previous conquerers is not as deeply rooted. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. 17. I'll give you India as a good example in that they don't resent England as much and for that matter I will give you Canada too. But neither one of those two countries would ever call themselves English. As for Gibraltar, to be honest I didn't know of them being separate from Spain. But with 6.5 square kilometers in land and 27,928 population, they are about 1/7th the size of Guantanamo Bay Naval Base. Its really the size of a big tourist resort so it doesn't say much. 18. I was never hit. I was such a good non-confrontational child that I received nothing but praise. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.
  19. Ok but seriously language aside. Do you not see that the people who were conquered by the British tended to and continue to reject them more than the Spanish, French or Portuguese. That the British don't assimilate well by comparison. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. 21. Hey if the topic is about Chavez then, http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/ap/world/4243727.html I have never seen thousands of Americans at once come out in demonstration for any candidate. Thinking that the population is 10 times as high in the U.S. as Venezuela and that there have been mass executions of the opposition to Chavez, the fact that thousands still march against him says a lot. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.
  22. Spain was actually a lot better at it. The only reason that Britain took the lead in North America was because Spain lost the battle of the Spanish Armada. If you don't think Spain was better then think about this. Mexicans coming to the U.S. often refusing to learn English. They want special programs made for them in Spanish, "their" language. That is what is funny because for most of them its not their language. Before Spain came they were speaking Aztec, just as all the Amerindians across all the Americas were speaking their own languages before Europe came. But how many Cherokees do you find calling English their language or ever better, how many Jamaicans do you know that call themselves English or Haitians, French. When you put it all together what you find is that the British may have had some good ideas but were not very good and changing peoples minds. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. 23. I guess it all comes down to personal taste because I drink wine daily, go to wine tastings weekly and keep atleast thirty bottles in my wine chiller at home. I like bold reds, tolerate mellow reds and can't stand fruity reds. I recently was at a Benigans, ordered a yellow tail Shiraz and regretted it. When I get a good red bold,in which can taste the oak, I enjoy every last sip. But usually if its atleast red, its ok. This yellow tail Shiraz, I had to force myself to finish it. With beer I have gotten to the point that I don't even want it for free. Its not that it tastes terrible. I actually like dark beers like Guinness, Koestrizer, Eibauer or Erdinger dunkel. Guinness unfortunately is the only one from that list that can be easily purchased in the U.S. Still as a whole beer sucks. In order to catch a buzz you need to load up with a lot more calories. Then you find yourself running to the bathroom. And the carbonation has its effects as well. If I want to be having farting contests, I would rather it be because I ate some good fiber. Not because I just took in useless calories that are unnecessarily padding my abs and making me run to the take a leak. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. 25. You are right, Foley is obviously on the moral high gound here.... Coming from you, this is not a surprise.... Not Foley his fellow Republicans. Jesse one would think some people really can't seem to read and comprehend. But I know better, I can tell when somebody just knows they are wrong and rather than just admit it, they prefer to pretend to misunderstand. Did it take you this long to make that senseless statement? If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound.
