    Sex & First Date

Woman's ultimate decision- fair enough but ........ Are you less likely to pursue a relationship with a woman who "puts out" on the first date? --------------------------------------- If I was single and went out with a woman, and she found that I was so wonderful that she could never imagine finding somebody as great as me and she therefore decided to put out for me on the first date, then that would be fine. If the same senario occurred with a Tom, Dick or Harry that came before me, then the interest level would drop quite significantly. If before me no man had ever interested her previously. If she was a lipstick lesbian that had a wonderful figure whose only interest in me came because she decided I was so great that I was worth coming to the other side for. Having sex on the first date in this senario and her swallowing might be a reason to consider marriage. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.
  2. Credit rating isn't helped or hurt by how prompt you show up at work. Lots of reliable people have no credit rating, as they don't use credit. ---------------------------------------------- People could be reliable with work and unreliable with how they pay their bills. I understand this. However, I have found in my experience that reliable people tend to be reliable in all way and unreliable people turn out to be unreliable in most ways as well. =========================== You have to take on debt and pay it back to be allowed to take on debt. If you prefer to deal in cash instead, you're not part of the system. ------------------------------------- Yes this makes sense if we are talking about somebody who has an 850 verses a 700. But I don't believe that somebody without any previous missed payments is put starting with a credit score in the 500's. I also believe that an interest rate that high is the only rate that somebody whose credit rating is in the 500's can get. ============================== Or even if you are a good worker/business owner, if cash flow isn't adequete and you stretch to meet debts, those late payments ding the rating substantially. --------------------------------------------- A high debt to income ratio will lower somebody's credit score. Belive me I am well aware of this from personal experience. However, you only loose 30-50 points for a high debt to income ratio, if you are not missing or late on any of your payments. So this could not be a reason to get somebody who is in the mid 600's (beginnner level) down to the 500's (jackass level, that is not to be trusted) ========================== That all aside, the used car dealership makes much more money on the financing than they do on the car. And the rate offered is whatever they think they can get out of you. ----------------------------------------- Agreed! =========================== I think one shouldn't go to a new or used car dealer without a finance option arranged. Then if the dealership wants the action, they can compete. ---------------------------- Sounds like a viable option. You could just as well just know beforehand what kind of rate you are good for and walk out if they don't give it to you. If you know what you are good for it shouldn't be to hard to make it clear to the loan officer. When I bought my truck (which was used) I told the sales person, "yeah its a really nice truck but if you loan officer tries to fuck me on the rate you are going to loose the sale. When I walked to talk to loan officer, I said if you don't plan on offering me a rate under 5% then lets not waste my or your time and just say good bye. With five minutes he said ok I can offer you 4.7 % =============================== Sadly, they often make loans that don't allow for early payment, so rolling over the loan to a credit union isn't always an option. ------------------------------------- I know this used to happen a lot but I belive that its happening less and less as time goes on. There may be laws against a pre-payment penalty. I am not sure about this. ============================== And last, yes, there is a long history of redlining and dicriminatory rate practices in the financial world. So are you saying that they are picking on a group because they want to cause intentional harm to them or because they could get away with doing so out of general ignorance? If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.
  3. In the first paragraph there I see this statement. suggesting that they are either surviving descendants of settlers from an early migration out of Africa, or that they are descendants of one of the founder populations of modern humans. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.
  4. It definately looked nice from the outside. I didn't take it for ride to know how it drove. He did mention that he put down 1k on it. Its in the Dallas area. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.
  5. http://www.orac.net.au/~mhumphry/aborigin.html I think the Aboriginies of Australia might disagree with that.. --------------------------- Actually after I wrote that, I imediately remembered about the Aborigines, and figured I would see if anybody would mention them. Congrats. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Negrito or the Negrito of the Phillipines... ------------------------------------ Never heard of these, I try to look over the link in a bit here. Or the people of Southern India the Tamil's Dark skin and Black as in the nose shape, the Kinky hair and all I don't equade. That is just because they are very Dark Indians, it doesn't put them as the same blood line as Black Africans. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.
  6. I am not sure how you figure Amerindian is like Oriental. I see Amerindian more like Asian. Ameridian which is how the CIA classifies native Americans comes from the fact that Columbus thought he was in India and therefore called the natives Indians when in fact they were not. Later they became Amerindian as in American Indian. The reason, I see that like calling somebody Asian is because its taking many different groups and putting them together as one. An Amerindian could be an Inca, a Maya, a Cherokee a seminole, etc... I guess one difference you can point out is that you are not taking a member of that logical group and deciding to exclude them. But actually that is still being done with another term 'Native American'. When most people think of Native Americans, they are thinking about Amerindians in the U.S. territory. It doesn't really make sense to exclude the South or Central American natives from that equation, but it is done anyway. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.
  7. But I am not sure what I would classify it as. So, I hate mowing the lawn and pay this Mexican guy to mow it. Yesterday, I noticed that he bought a new truck (New to him, its actually and 04 F-150). I was talking with him (in Spanish ofcourse) telling him how nice I thought the new truck was, and asked him how much he paid for it. He gave me an odd answer. He said 14K, 20k after interest is included. I was like what was your interest rate, he said 19.9%. He says yeah I got it at, and name a local Ford dealer. This leaves me thinking for a bit. I recall about 6 years ago, when I got laid off that I worked at a car dealership for a week. I remember a coe-worker getting annoyed because a sale of his was lost. He blamed the loan officer. He said that when the customer is Mexican the loan officer sends the loan rate through the roof. I know that many will be quick to question the customer's credit rating but at the time when I was working there atleast, we (the sales people) were the ones to initially run the credit reports, so we saw the credit scores first. For that reason this other sales person was making his observation after having seen the credit scores of his individual clients. Taking all this into account, I quesion how much do I know about this guy who cuts my lawn. I know that if I call him he comes. When his schedule was not working for me because it conflicted with my skydiving, he started coming at 8 am Sunday mornings never late. For that reason, I find it hard to believe that this guys credit score is so low that it warrants a 19.9% interest rate. So why is he getting stuck with it. Well, my last name is Rodriguez and although I am actually Cuban of Spanish descent the typical Anglo-America is too stupid to tell the difference. None-the-less, wether its a car loan or a mortgage, I don't know anybody who gets better rates than I do. You can say its because, I don't have have an accent when I speak, but my parents do and they always get good rates as well. I guess looking at the whole issue, I think it has more to the loan officer trying to get the most money that he can out of purchaser, and not necessarily disliking any certian group. But the reality is that different groups are more prone to not understanding the system. Anyway, I did my part by recomending that he go to his bank and see what interest rate they could offer and told him if he needed any further assistance to call me. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.
  8. Are you asserting that Japan and China are Southeast Asia? --------------------------------------- Yes, if you don't belive that look on a Map of Asia. Northeast Asia is all Russia. Actually I don't find myself having any difficulty communicating. I work with man Indians and interact regularly with Koreans, Chinese, Vietnamese and I am sure there are more that I won't enumerate. I like to refer to people as what they are specifically. That is to say, when I talk to a Mexican I would not refer to him as an Amerindian, certainly I wouldn't call him Hispanic. I would just say he is a Mexican. If somebody is from Belarus or Ukraine, I would not call him or her Russian. I believe that if you are going to classify a group it should be based on something. Just as you wouldn't arbitrarily take a Haitian and a German and suddenly starting putting them together in a group. I wouldn't put the French with the Haitians eithers. Or the Domincans with the Spanish. In this case, I wouldn't put the Chinese with the Indians or the Pakistanis, which is what the Asian classification would do. As I have said previously, in my opinion its stupid to take a continent and arbitrarilly exclude countries in that Continent, and refer to everybody else as that adjective of that continent. The reality is that the Southeast Asians have physical characteristics in Common and that is why when they became known as Orientals, it stuck. Regardless of how much you or anybody else wants to do away with that, you can't. You can get U.S. citizens to fear being politically incorrect, but the rest of the world will continue to laugh at you. To stick to the topic at hand anyway. I agree that the African-American title is indeed stupid as well. But not necessarily for the same reasons that have been stated. Jamaica may not be in the African CONTINENT, but its clear that the black people in Jamaica came from the Congo (in Africa) as slave to the Caribean Island of Jamaica. Its also clear that all Black people in the world descend from Africa. However, not all people in the CONTINENT of Africa are black. Morroco, Tunisia, Algeria, Lybia and Egypt come to mind. I won't name the Europeans who immigrated to the Union of South Africa, because its quite clear that they did just that and that their blood lines are clearly not African of any type. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.

  10. Its funny that you linked this because I let it go that day becuase I didn't want to keep going back and forth. None the less, I think your arguements were completely spinning circles going no where. If Oriental can refer to objects from Southeast Asia, it would be logical to assume that it refers to people from Southeast Asia too. When you can find me an advertisement for an Oriental rug that was not built in a Southeast Asian country, then your arguement might make sense. For the record once again, India is not in Southeast Asia, and is therefore not Oriental. Below here is an expert that addresses the same issue. Its funny how it mentions the views in Europe verses the U.S. I was I in my birth country of Spain last week and was in what they referred to the Oriental Square. Its funny how everybody there was from Southeast Asia and none of them seemed to feel as if they were offended by being referred to as Orientals. Any below is the exerpt and here is the link if you wish to go to the page for more info. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asians Orientals and the Orient The term "Oriental" (from the Latin word for "Eastern")[32] was originally used in Europe in reference to the Near East. It was later extended to the rest of Asia, but came to refer to Northeast Asians and Southeast Asians in the 19th and 20th century US,[33] where most Asians were Chinese (and later Japanese and Filipino). By the late 20th century, the term had gathered associations in North America with older attitudes now seen as outmoded, and was replaced with the term "Asian" as part of the updating of language concerning social identities,[34] which critics have derided as political correctness.[35] In Europe however use of the term oriental for a east Asian has no negative connotations attached and is commonly used since here 'Asian' is taking to mean a South Asian. 11. For years I worked out and dieted religiously. Now, I just diet when my jeans are fitting to tight, which is typically accompanied by a 5-10 pound increase on the scale. I don't think I am wiser now or was wiser previously when I was more obsessed with it. Part of me wants to get motivated and surpass my previous bench press record 275 for 10 reps or 365 for 1. The other part of me questions wether I feel like putting the required effort this time around, specially since being in my mid thirties makes it harder. I think right now learning how to hang-glide and performing a loop sounds more like a burning desire I have. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.
  12. I highly doubt that. The only time that might happen is if you start your diet and start exercising for the first time in your life and with that have pretty much zero muscles. Obviously if you have no muscles to start from you have no muscles to work with. But I agree that when you first start working out you will notice the quickest muscle increase. However, another thing that is often over looked is that at first your muscles will get stronger without growing. Because normally all the muscle fibers are not being used. As one begins to workout they will start to use more of their muscle fibers and when they get to the point that they can't just use more fibers, the fibers will start to grow. So I agree that its delusional, when people who have never worked out before after a month are attributing weight gain to muscle gain. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.
  13. There is not enough information provided to give an absolute answer. It depends on your starting point. Also you will never loose all fat and no muscle. There will always be a ratio from which your goal is to minimize the muscle loss. As for supplements that help you preserve muscle mass there really is only steroids or HGH. However, without the right amount of food at the right time, you can do a lot. How difficult it will be to loose an insignificant amount of muscle mass while loosing bodyfat depends on what percentage of bodyfat you are at initially and your leptin levels. The biggest problem explaining this is that people normally don't know what their bodyfat levels are at. And even worse than that, is that there are a ton of places out there which can give you a bogus bodyfat level because their tests are useless. The only real accurate bodyfat test requires that you be submerged underwater. Any experienced body builder can get a pretty good guess at what your bodyfat levels are by just looking at your abs. If they are barely outlined you should be about 12%. By 10% most men's abs are clearly outlined. Most of the pictures on the bodybuilding magazines where the guys look shredded are taken at competitions in a condition that they can't realistically keep for more than a week. There they are ranging from 2-6% bodyfat at those competitions. The closer you come to competition level bodyfat the more you need to worry about tricks to keep from loosing muscle. Some of these tricks included cheating your diet once every couple of weeks on the weekend by overeating by possibly 500-1000 calories for a couple of days. This will restart your Leptin levels, which controls the ratio of bodyfat to muscle that is lost. But now back to reality and what matters. The averagae American Male is carrying around over 20% bodyfat. If you can't look in the mirror and count out your six pack you are definately over 12%. If you can't pull your skin in that area down slightly with your thumbs and then count out your six pack the you are probably over 14%. Finally if that is the case you could just keep your caloric intake down to 1800 daily ( that is the minimum for males) and you will not need to worry about anything else. Your muscle loss will be insignificant. If you want to exercise then that can help slightly. But if like most people you believe that because you exercised that you could eat more, then it will most likely cause more harm than good. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.

  15. I am glad to hear that my post may be helpful. I have never flown a Katana. If I did I would most likely lengthen my brake lines, as I have done with just about every other canopy I have flown (Thats just my preference). In any case, for that reason, it would not be right for me to give you specifics as to how low you should pull your toggles down during your flare, the recovery arc or any specific part of the landing. I will however say that I am certain that with the proper technique, (notice I said with the proper technique) a Katana loaded at 1.6 can be landed at any density altitude with little or no run out steps at all, while still maximizing your swoop distance. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.
  16. As you're sliding and slowing down, your canopy is holding up less and less of your weight, so you're also lowering the stall speed of the canopy. This is giving you "more canopy" to work with. Absoloutely. However, my point was that you still had to touch down at the same speed. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.
  17. You wouldn't have to jump at a high altitude dz. Perris Valley is at about 1400 MSL. It often gets over 100F there. Look at the link I provided earlier and see what happens to the Density altitude there if you have a day with the temperature at 104 F, barometric pressure of 29.82 and dew point of 75. It already has you at a density altitude of over 5000. Yes, I am saying that if you take it easy and start your turn on the high side on your first couple of jumps in the day, to get used to your altitude lost in your dive, the only problem you will be left to deal with it the lessened flare power/lift. Some people think that by coming in really fast you can resolve this issue, because more speed will equal more lift. But that is only part of the story. Yes more speed, with Bernoulis principle (you can google that if you want) will give you more lift. However you can't walk or run away from your landing at 50-75 MPH. No person can run that fast. So after doing that nice pretty high speed approach your canopy will need to start slowing down, until it gets to a speed where you can realistically touch down. If you can run really fast, you might be able to get away with touching down at 15-17 MPH and running like bloody hell to avoid falling foward. If you have mastered the skill of sliding in, you can touch down faster and just not start running until you have slowed down enough that you will be able to keep up with it. Regardless, I don't believe anybody is touching down while they are still moving over 45MPH and starting to slide it in from that point. Now lets picture two different senarios. You start to dive you canopy and get it going somewhere between 80 and 105 MPH. You start your swoop somewhere between 70 and 85. As you go through your swoop you loose your speed and when you've slowed down to maybe 35, you touch down and started to slide it in. As you're sliding in, you are slowing down more, your canopy is loosing its flare power/lift. Your goal is to be comfortable on your own by the time you canopy lost all its lift. Now lets think about it differently, you fy that canopy straight in, the foward speed ofcourse is going to vary on your wingloading. But lets say for this example you are at 2.5. Your foward speed with no turns might be 45, you pull double fronts and get your foward speed up to 60. By the time you let up your front risers, level out and start your swoop, you're going 50. You still can't touch down or you will face plant. You have to slow down until you find yourself in the same situation as you were in the previous example, with the same lift/flare power to work with. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.
  18. Most pardons are done during the last hours. I expect his list to be a doozy. Clinton pardoned 456. W. Bush so far is up to 157. Clinton pardoned 140 in his last hours as president. So judging by that I am pretty sure and willing to place a wager on Clinton's list will be significantly larger. However, what I find funniest/most hypocritical is how Clinton supporters will still make this a topic of discussion. I guess the Clinton supporters are banking on the general population being to stupid to research the facts. Its a pitty that this kind of strategy works. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.
  19. More humidity means less lift or a higher density altitude. Here is a calculator you can use to plug in number and see how it changes http://wahiduddin.net/calc/calc_da.htm You won't see an entry specifically for humidity but you see one for dew point which pretty much comes back to humidity. If the difference between the dew point and ground air temperature divided by 3.5 (talking fahrenheight ofcourse) is a good prediction for where visible moisture (clouds) will form. All that being said temperature has a far greater effect on density altitude than humidity. Also with regards to concerns for density altitude, its true that you should take it into account, for where you start your turn. However, if anybody thinks that they always start their turn at 710 and now they are consciously going to start it at 730 feet instead because density altitude is higher, then they are kidding themselves, because nobody is that accurate, with the point at which they start their turn. You could be that accurate as you approach the gates but that is with the minor modifications you make along the way. You are too high turn slower, you are (a little bit) too low turn faster, you came ouf of your turn too high hand on double fronts a little be longer, you are short of the entrance gates, pull a little be less on the double fronts. All these different inputs will make a much bigger difference than 20 vertical feet. In the end if you are making you approach with a safety margin, your biggest concern with a higher density altitude is that your canopy will have less lift. It will tend to have a higher air speed which will give you more lift, but your speed to lift ratio will be smaller. This essentially means that if you feel comfortable with the lift you get at standard temperature (59 F/ 29.92/0 MSL) with a 100 squarefoot canopy, in a (59F/29.92/5000 MSL), you probably will feel about the same level of comfort on touch down with a 110-120 squarefoot canopy. The 10-20% loss of live for 5K is my best guess from my experience. If you feel compelled to get and exact ratio, I am sure you can google it. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. 20. What does that mean? 21. I had been meaning to respond, but everytime I got going my manager came around with a new task. Anyway a short response is this. I don't have time to google it but this is my interpretation of what the the Orient really covers. Southeast Asia. There is no denying that the people who live in this area have a different shape to their eyes, which is easily spotted. If anybody ever told me that India was in Southeast Asia, I would asssume they never looked at a map of Asia or that they didn't know their North, South, East or West. That is typical but not exclusive to Americans. Anyhow, if somebody wants to say they are from Southeast Asia instead of Oriental, that is fine with me. But saying Asian just sound stupid to me. For that matter you may as well just say I am a person and don't want to be identified with and group or region, which to me would suggest feeling inadequate about yourself. But you can all make of that what you wish. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.
  22. Well, I can't call you 'Asian" for reasons already described, unless we can all choose our names. While we are choosing how we prefer to be addressed, I would like to choose a specific term just to be fair. In my group, I want to include Spanish, Samoans and Jewish people. I know that those of you who know me might think I am Catholic and may wonder what the hell Spaniards, Sumoans and Jews have in common? Aha, but by tagging all these people together we can all claim to be 'God's chosen people'. After all, people from Russia, Iran and Taiwan don't have a whole lot in common either, but you can call them all "Asian". So just for political correctness, and only if you choose to adhere ofcourse, Please feel free to refer to us as "Gods chosen people", from now on. Thanks, If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.
  23. because it's ignorant? btw it's not oriental. Orientals are rugs. WE prefer to be called asians if you must choose one word to describe us all. This is one of my pet peeve. You see, I could say the same thing about "Spanish". I could claim that "Spanish" should be used to describe music, sausage, cheese, wine, etc. Then I could turn around and say I prefer European. But the fact is that European includes, French, Italian, Swedish, Norwegian, etc... I could just as well demand that you use the term Spaniard. But, the bottom line is that because I am comfortable in who I am, I won't try to hide behind a more general group. Calling people from the Orient "Asian" makes no sense to me at all. The majority of Asian countries are not in the Orient and the people in most Asian countries do not look like the people that come to mind when somebody describes an "Oriental". To name just a few examples, Russia, India, Armenia, Banladesh, Afganistan, Butan, Iran, etc... If there is another term that specifically describes people from the Orient (without encompassing billions of other people), I will have no problem using that term. For this reason, I get the feeling that this is more about people feeling inadequate about themselves, which is a pitty. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.
  24. I haven't met him but would bet, from what I have read here that he was probably born in the 60's, maybe the late 50's, but it really doesn't matter. What matters is that his statement is untrue, at least in the blanket sense. There were a lot of irresponsible drug-using long haired, hippies in the 60's and a lot of them died before growing up. A lot of them never changed and ended up homeless, blaming the responible population for there own screw-ups. Some changed for the better. But the most forgotten fact is that everybody was not a screw-up. There were the good young conservatives that focused on preparing for their future, so that THEY could provide for THEIR families to come. Not everbody was staging protests, doing drugs and destroying private property. In reality the same can be said for today's youth. Although at times, it seems like they are all stupid, if you look hard enough you will see that is not the case. Btw. as a disclaimer, I graduated high school in 91. I would like to think that I still take an objective perspective on things. But for some reason I get the feeling that kids who graduated in the mid to late 90's always needed a little more extra help and were on average physically smaller and weaker. I get the same impression from the graduates of the 2000's, only to a higher degree. You can make of that what you will. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.
  25. LOL, because most of them live in landlocked countries! Just to name a few, feel free to correct me if I am wrong.
