Yup, the etrex vista is what I purchased the first time around... 1) it is bulky and not easy to mount. 2) It is way inferior to the newer generation GPSes...interms of acquisition and maintaining a signal in the airplane. 3) The newer uints are cheaper than the Vista Cx? point 2 is so important. Kris.

I would strongly recommend buying a later generation GPS. Specifically an edge 205 for jumps from the airplane and an edge 305 for BASE jumpers. On BASE jumps, the 205 seems to read wrong altitude in the 'Bowl' but reads correct altitude once enough distance has been covered from the area where GPS signals get reflected. Mostly the error seems to be with the altitude....however we did a two way and comparing the readings from the other pilots 305(barometric alti) and my 205 will be a good test of GPS based altitude accuracy. Kris.

I have a Multiple entry visa to Italy until 27 Oct 2006 and want to take advantage of it to fly with Yuri or simply be a spectator...if anyone wants to split costs for a car(I cannot rent one) between 12th and 19th Oct and travel to Italy...Please let me know. I would love to make this trip. Kris.

I feel like I am taking off when I exit. The GPS says(error in the bowl) that my glide for the first 20 secs is almost 5 to 1 (see attached..exit altitude is 1438 m) . Anyway, next time I'll jump with the barometric alti GPS and that should sort this problem out. For me, if the exit is good, there is no perceptible 'fall' so to speak it just takes time to build up speed. Even this is only about 8-10 secs. Kris.

I got a copy in Norway. Great editing and nice jumps. I have watched it like a zillion times...and still keep watching it. Kris.

tall and lanky is definately good....tall and lanky with long legs is even better ...for wingsuits anyway. Or maybe I just say it because I have long legs . Try not to look at vertical fall rate so much. Think about distance as well. A GPS is a good investment....the down side is if you fly well...you will fly alone a lot. Kris.

Yeah, it would be nice to watch the video. Kudos to the VKB guys for posting GPS data. Even though it shows what someone posted here as 3km to be false. It also looks like if flown a bit slower(less steep?) there is more glide to come from the suit. Travelling 150 mph plus must be pretty nice too. Kris.

You really should not even be asking that question...and it is also besides the point(I have answered it below anyway). I have seen how Richard's Acro fits him....Here are initial pictures of the V1. See how perfectly the suit fits. Can a customer not expect that a suit fits like that or is a cm off from you guys? It is not the position of the crotch....it is the fact that the leg wing area is reduced (a lot..the leg wing area is 25% less for a 4 inch difference in inseam length) on a suit that has an effect on performance. You are trying to spread your legs and stretch a leg wing not from the point at which you naturally spread your legs(the crotch) from, but from a point much lower....not the most comfortable thing to do. It is like spreading your legs with your pants 4 inches below your crotch. I emailed Robi and told him this suit fits better than the first V2 but is about 2 inches off at the torso. It looked like 2 inches off initially, it is more like 4 inches as you can see from the pics. Robi knows my measurements exactly because me and him are so close in measurements....according to him. I am 2 cm longer in the legs and 2.7 cm shorter in the torso measurement. Some guy that was taught how to make suits at the birdman factory by Robi made me two perfect suits(GTI and S3). How come three suits (V1, the V2 that was sent back and the current one) all fit me badly? The measurement sent for the body was 26.5 inches for the V2. Why was the body off by almost 8 inches the first time and is off by 4plus inches now? All I want is to put this behind me and have fun flying a suit that fits me properly. I still have my Phantom and will enjoy flying it. Kris.

All good points. Let's not confuse the issue here. I will post another reply to the gearing up questions. I don't want this suit because it does not fit. I have one big suit only. That is the V2(and yes if it fits properly it is the best suit that money can buy). As far as currency goes absolutely agree. I don't want to spend the money jumping(and getting current) on a suit that does not fit(already wasted plenty of time and money jumping the V1). This suit will work well for someone that is the same height(shoulder to floor) as me but a longer torso. I will be happier with a suit that is made to fit my measurements even if it is not the 'best performance suit' in the market. Kris.

That must be it, Jason. I am a muppet with no junk.......No wonder then Arai....I have no choice but to fondle myself . Kris.
-
Does the suit not fit me? There is fit(a) and then there is fit(b). a) The first one is when the length of the suits is correct for you. If you are in the market for a cheap used suit, that is when you settle for something like the one I recieved. b) The suit fits you like a glove. It is made for you. It should fit you exactly. I have long legs and a short torso...this is an advantage because a 4 inch increase in the inseam measurement means that the legwing will be 25% bigger in area. Want to know how a proper fitting suit will look like? Take a look at how Robi's suits fit him or better yet look at the Max_pf video and see how Max's suit fits him. Want to see what a custom suit should not look like? Take a look at the attached pics. You may have noticed that instructions in the advertisement that I have posted. The suit will fit a person that has a much longer torso than me and the same shoulder to floor. Kris.

Why are the links on the back of the shoe? Kris.

You're probably right dude. Atleast, I am no sheep . Kris.

Even if it does not have Bluetooth? I use an Edge 205 or an Edge 305. Kris.

I am not sure if this is true but someone said that when we were doing wingsuit formations at Skydive Deland 2004 the ATC(Daytona Beach?) was picking us up. Kris.

Heard about your(and Alex's) awesome tracks....Way cool!! So you guys didn't eat at all after 'the cook' left? Kris.

Guys the issue has been solved it was happening due to how the MLW sat in regards to the inlet. It is a reproducible issue and also an entirely avoidable one. Yo! Doug, Try this....just pull one of the wings up more under the MLW(when you do this you will notice the inlet will look like the right inlet looked in the pics I posted) and go jump. No, I was not doing this on purpose...it happened on all three times I wore the suit and the rig(I tend to do the chest strap on the loose side for wingsuits(it is still pretty tight but ...), luckily someone was standing behind me to check if the video was pointed correctly at the inlet and noticed that the suit was sitting uneavenly. The problem was that the right inlet arm wing was getting pulled under the MLW just enough so that the inlet opening would shut when the arms wings were extended(this is visible in the pics I posted before). All it took was someone standing behind me while I was wearing the rig to notice and we knew on the ground that we fixed the problem. This was a user issue but can happen to anyone. Infact the PF guys should thank me for identifying and solving this problem. . It happened once its going to happen again. Kris.

Thanks James. I will be sending you the pics as you requested this evening. The position in the pic you have mentioned is an unnatural position(I mentioned this in both my posts )....I was just trying to get a pic so that inlets are visible from the same level. Guys, James contacted me while he was on vacation and advised me that he had to relearn flying the V2 after doing a lot of Phantom jumps(at the comps). While I don't think that it should be a struggle to just get the wing inflated consistently...it seems a reasonable thing to do to try a few more jumps maybe even stick the xacti on my helmet so that it has a view of the right inlet while inflight. That should give more input as to whether its a suit issue or a pilot issue. I cannot jump during the week and it may take me a couple of weeks to even put a jump(this sunday looks jumpable...fingers crossed)) on the suit. I will update this post with my findings either way. Kris.

I cannot answer that question decause I have not jumped either airplane but the 305(same as 205 with barometric altimeter) worked very well in a Beaver. Back on topic.... Please post an MP3 and GPS data like Yuri suggested. It would be very interesting to see as well as hear from jumpers that use this system how it is working for them. If I had a GPS 10 I would definately give this a try but I own too many GPSes and will not buy another . Kris.

Hi, I think PF has a few extra measurements like body. I am almost exactly like you in measurements. I am 2 cm shorter, my body measurement is 4 inches shorter and the inseam is about 3/4 inch longer. I don't know if my suit would fit you but your suit would fit me. Kris.
-
No, I am just saying that some people might have bigger arm wings. Whay are you saying that most lift comes from the leg wing? Kris.
-
measured between which points? Sorry, just like it is measured for a wingsuit(from the point where the four seams of the trousers meet to the point where a round neck t-shirt would meet the neck). If I remember correctly, you have long legs and a shorter(relative to legs) torso. Kris.

For £40 more you can get an Edge 205. It is a fine unit and there are no hassles with satelite acquisition. I own a Foretrex 201 and edge 205....can't even be bothered to use the 201. However if you are patient it does work. I have one for sale . Kris.

What is your Torso length(body measurement) and Inseam? Just trying to find my body double . Scott, an average small arm length of 70 cm seems big. I compared some small, medium and large size shirts and the arm lengths did not vary that much. I can wear a medium or a large and the arm length is not 6-7cm big. Kris.
