I am shocked but by no means disagree. Can't even think of arguing with you ....about wingsuit flying anyway . Kris.
-
Thanks for that Yuri

Hey...I think he added triangles to the leg wing to make it more like the S-3s leg wing..I don't think he added anything below the wing line if you know what I am talking about ..its not in the classifieds anymore....I say S-3s because I remember reading it in the ad. But I could be mistaken. Kris.
-
Sam '980' on here also had a few mods done to his S-3. Don't know about extra cells though. Kris.

Sam modified his S-3s leg wing and arm wings. The leg wing like the S-3s legwing...can't remember if he added an extra cell. May be he will read this post and respond. As for what suit to get...if indeed you can get the S1 converted to an S3 for cheap, that's a deal that cannot be beat. And depending on how you and your friends are built, you may be able to flock with them and hold your own in a race. That will save you a lot of money towards buying a V2(or the next version) later. Kris.

That is a 7 to 1 glide ratio . You probably are stating two distinct facts. The slowest vertical speed and the fastest horizontal speed. That is definately possible. Combine the two and the result is a number that is considered unrealistic. Kris.

Go for the 205. the altitude data from the 305 will be noisy due to pressure variations from the GPS(barometer) moving in and out of a clear airstream. If you read the BASE forum there is a thread BASE GPS Calculations. There are some charts that compare the 305 readings to the 205's readings from a 2-way BASE jump. Kris.

James, Can't think of better words to describe the ITW. Some of this stuff is better spoken offline so I am sending you a PM. I promise no more talk about my crotch . Kris.
-
I can't go back in time and not jump from the ITW. Ofcourse if any of the Italian BASE jumpers feel that I am not welcome there. I will respect that. Kris. P.S: Sorry Tracey. This is my last post to this thread.
-
And what about alluding that someone is overweight? I apologize for that Ian. Didn't think you would feel so bad about it that you complained to your friends. Sorry. Kris.

Time to bring this BS to an end once and for all. Take all the very experienced BASE jumpers you mention and imagine their DADDY when it comes to wingsuit flying. Yes. Robibird...was kind enough to send me a message and warn me of the dangers of WS BASE at low BASE experience levels after he heard of my jumps last September. In his note he also suggested the way forward. My approach has been to follow that advise with caution. So when people like you try to give advise that is not asked for...I will have to do the obvious. Kris.
-
Ian, Firstly, D is not my mentor...the only advise I would take from him is on how to workout....and you could definately use some of his advise on that as well. Please spare me the you seem like a nice guy BS. You don't know me. I don't care to know you or your politics. Let's just leave it at that. The original post was made in ernest. I posted what I knew from being there when it happened. Neither was I being insincere or a smartass when I made the second post. But you cannot even acknowledge that possibility. I don't really have any more energy to spend on useless conversations with you...mate. Kris.

You can use the free website www.motionbased.com. It is free to all Garmin edge owners. Kris.

I guess you are referring to my first post. I mearly wrote what I saw. Do you see me teaching/preaching?
-
Pictures of the charts...self explanatory.
-
Exactly what I did Gus. Just let the people that are better at talking do the talking. And think about myself. Everyone has their opinions as to what is dangerous and what is not. I know what you refer to when you ask this question. Go back one year and you think I said the same thing to James...you do not know the full story. I don't think there is any point in me explaining things either....you've already made up your mind. Besides my writing skills suck. Kris.

It was a Sabre 170, d-bag, collapsible PC....I was there when the dude got back to his Car. An experienced jumper (1000 plus jumps) tried to tell the dude very nicely that it was a bad idea and got the shrug and the "yeah, I know" ...sneer...from the dude. The 2 sec delay was another dude with what looked like proper BASE gear or atleast a BASE canopy and a BASE PC. We were having a coffee at the bar when we saw these guys jump...only saw the landing of the Sabre and the second guy open so high it looked wrong immediately. Kris.
-
Where did he land? What is the consensus on what caused the PC to go back into the burble? Was it a lazy throw? Was he using a Big WS with a BASE pouch? Kris.

Got my friends GPS log today. This was from a two way from the ITW. I jumped an edge 205 and he jumped an edge 305(barometric alti). After some analysis like distance(both horizontal and vertical) between the two gpses and map overlay during the logging period the conclusion is that the GPSes were accurate(within usual error tolerances). The 205 data was much smoother than the data from the edge 305. Since the barometer was mounted on his helmet, this is not surprising at all. On another jump(solo during which the head does not move much after exit) from his logs...the barometric GPS data was quite good except for one point where the reading on immediate points(one sec interval) was the same(possibly when he looked up to check his flight path). The opening points seemed to be quite accurate based on the map overlay. Kris.

I heard the story from workout boy....it was amusing. Would have loved to see your reaction after that jump. Anyhow, if you two fly again let us know how it goes. My money is on workout boy...atleast in the forward speed department. No offense, I have seen the GPS logs from his BASE jumps. He will be much quicker in the higher altitudes
-
Wishing the jumper a quick recovery. kris.

Can people that have jumped Non barometric GPSes please share thoughts on the accuracy with regards to altitude measurements close to the wall and away from the wall. Can you also post which GPS you use if, even if you use one with a barometer. Kris.

Does your dropzone allow wingsuit night jumps?
KrisFlyZ replied to VectorBoy's topic in Wing Suit Flying
