::golf clap:: Zero for zero. And how many children have you adopted Rick? Or, perhaps a more fair question: "What contributions do you make to foster or help underpriviledged/unwanted children?" Or is 'life' no longer your concern once it's outside of a woman's body? Keep it classy. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC

And then: 1.) Hilarious. 2.) Her opinion was influenced by things she heard but cannot cite as legitimate references, just as you claimed a couple of posts ago. Sounds pretty similar in my mind to, "he'll take care of black people over all people", or whatever you were raving about. And to confirm, you are or are not the guy in that sweet youtube video? .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC -

Provide the data you're using, that way we all have common ground to work with. If you don't have supporting data, then I don't really need to debunk your theory, do I? .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC -

Decisions in what regard? (1) Arg Pro references maintenance and stockpile. For storage, contamination, and maintenance issues I'd agree 100%. But the question arises, "to what extent does an individual engineer understand the complete scope of the project they're working on, vs. the understood scope of the USNSS/USNMS"? Exactly. When you decide to be a 'badass skydiver' and leave your shit all over the house as a demonstration of your awesomeness, you should recognize that other people are going to come into contact with it from time to time. Learn to check your gear, and, more specifically, be responsible for your gear. Maybe you should do something nice for your roomie, instead of nagging on dz.com. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC

So... 1.) The 40-80k$ figure you threw out was a complete load of crap. 2.) What's the duration required to achieve the median teacher salary? Looking around, I see: from: here. But go ahead and continue to talk about how cushy teaching positions are, and how teachers are the cause of poor education. 51k$/year after 15 years of employment does not sound good to me at all. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC

Say your mom croaked, and then the mortician took a picture of her with a dog bone in her mouth. Is it still as classy? It was just a posed picture, intended to provide some fun for his buddies. So, just to be sure: The matrimonial bond is so important that it should be shielded from same-sex couples, but if you fuck up and dump your wife (for better or... what?) saying sorry handles the bill? Craptacular. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC

Lets start a campaign to keep Religion out of Politics!!
n23x replied to shropshire's topic in Speakers Corner
This is a hard one: I absolutely am interested in a politician's personal views. However, I am more specifically interested in: 1.) To what extent they 'practice what they preach' ('Do as I say, not as I do' tends to piss me off something royal). 2.) To what extent they are able to separate their religious views that might be considered outliers for a majority of the general public. In writing, the above 2 comments sound both similar, and contradictory, but let me elaborate. For point 1, I am interested in their 'personal' (read: not as a public servent) actions. Examples: Those who demand the importance of heterosexual marriages, but who themselves have several divorces, problems with infidelity, or participate in homosexual acts. Likewise, those who complain about drugs, but abuse prescription drugs. Additionally, those that even consider abortion rights when it suits them, but take up the cause for 'every life, even those 1 minute post-conception'. For point 2, I am interested in how well they can isolate portions of their religion that aren't applicable to the majority. Is eating red meat on friday bad? What about being in the same room as your wife when she's on her period? Some religious rules are a little extreme, and perhaps shouldn't be applied to the general public, but that public servent, in private, should absolutely be able to decide to not eat that red meat, agreed?. I think people, athiest and thiest, can agree to certain moral standards. Stealing is bad. Killing is bad. To what extent we agree on these will always vary, however. For instance, I know many who are 100% against abortion, who believe life starts at conception, and yet have (what I believe to be) reduced moral qualms with taking lives in Iraq. Not to say that they are indifferent about those human lives, just that there is a disparity in the importance of those lives taken in war, vs. those aborted. Conversely, it does me, personally, no harm to stop a ball of cells, or even a small mass from turning into a baby, but I become far more irate at the thought of lost civilian and military lives over in Iraq. Ultimately, I think the general backlash against religion within the realm of politics has more to do with perceived disingenuous behavior, more than anything else. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC -
Hahahaha, agreed. Also, they're called Sons of Anarchy, but they're all montaged in front of a huge American flag? WTF? I watched some of it, and some of it was good, and I definately like Ron Perlman. It could grow on me I suppose. On a different note, if anybody has been watching Breaking Bad, that just gets more and more enjoyable to watch. Watching the chemist blow out the dealer's place for beating the shit out of the kid was awesome. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! After reading that, I couldn't help but think of my favorite scene from Trailerpark Boys: Ricky: The thing with me is that I AM smart and I’m smelf, I’m self smarted, basically, by myself, basically from nature and smoking drugs and doing different things I’ve self… s… like self learned myself. And that’s the whole difference I guess is that I don’t need the books or the schooling type things. I just get everything on my own and because of that I’m alive right now. I mean if I had read more books or tried to go on to collage and different things like that I’d be dead right now because people say books and collage are for to be make you smarter, but they can also be for to be make you dead, which is what could have happened to me. My brain doesn’t use enough oxygen because I don’t have the whole thing filled with different stuff and if it was full, it’s only part full, and that’s why I’m alive right now. The guards are giving me here, you know, read this book, try to get smarter but I’m like, alright, I’ll pretend to read it but I’m not going to really read it cause my brain will be more full and if I have another heart attack I’m going to die... I just wanna get out of here now and spend time with Lucy and Trinity and get my family going again. Basically that’s all that matters to me. They come to visit me a couple times in jail for the first time ever which is awesome, Lucy seems to be really digging me and looking really good and I just wanna get out of here and see them, exercise a bit, maybe eat better and try to quit smoking. I’m going to quit smoking cigarettes first, and then, you know, work off the dope or whatever eventually, although I don’t know. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC

And the problem with a person showing their dissatisfaction for the leadership and actions of their country is what, then? 1.) You produce no compelling arguements for me to respond to. 2.) Of course, Jefferey. Sexual intercourse is generally a requirement for procreation, so I believe nobody here is suprised at your above statement. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC

Excellent first response, "Just because". Those are certainly polite things to do. I imagine one might do them a lot if they are in polite company. Brilliant! Is it possible that one might be able to express their gratitude to soldiers in other means? Doesn't matter if you don't jerk off to the flag everytime someone else does it? Unless they were drafted, they did it for a paycheck, or their own sense of honor. Bravo for them. Respect can be shown in many ways. Don't make the mistake of thinking that if a person doesn't do exactly as you do, they're disrespectful, or a piece of shit, or a 'self absorbed punk'. Politely, people like you will stand up and rally for 'patriotism' and 'respect' without seeing the true situation for vets around here. I am not proud of what my country's recent actions. I want my friends coming back to be happy, and healthy, and to not be fucked up for the remainder of their lives. I'll be patriotic by helping them out, and you be patriotic by standing still. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC

Perhaps you could explain why it's such a big deal if someone else chooses to not salute the flag, or stand for our national anthem? What does their response have anything to do with your patriotism? Further more, to what extent should one expect fellow citizens to participate in 'patriotic behavior'? This Much? I, myself, have no problem with it either way. If you want to salute, place your hand over your heart, stand on one leg, remain seated, wear american flag boxers, whatever. Thinking everybody should do it, if for no other reason than they 'owe it' to somebody else, just isn't a very good reason for me. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC
