Skydiving: Burning Fossil Fuels for the Fun of It.
n23x replied to tdog's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Dig out the paraglider. How much gas does it cost to hike to the top launch all day long? Plus you don't have to deal with the general landing douchebaggery at MH. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC -
1.) Dinosaurs eat plants. 2.) Hide near plant. 3.) Bonk dinosaur on head with stick. 4.) Eat dinosaur. It's THAT EASY! What complications could occur?! Don't complain about the fidelity of my model! .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC

*Increased* taxes - punitive measure on spending?
n23x replied to mnealtx's topic in Speakers Corner
You can't talk about spending without also examining sources of income, either earned or credited. What is it, exactly, that you are looking for the other parties in this discussion to say (or not say). Absolutely terrible. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC -

Marc, We've seen instances where mainland disease labs have been identified as the point of origin for outbreaks. Here's one. As mentioned earlier, cross-contamination is a good example of this within the agricultural sector. It's not intentional, but can occur despite your best efforts. If you know that there is some possibility of local contamination around/outside of your lab, doesn't it seem like a smarter idea to put another safeguard in place, rather than put the lab in closer proximity to animals relied on for food? As for the jobs issue, what kind of jobs do you think a lab will bring to KS or elsewhere? Will they be blue collar/white collar? How does the benefit to the state (in terms of fresh jobs/incoming capital, etc) compare to the increased risk (given the proximity to livestock)? .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC

Will This Get the Left Anti Evangelicals Panties In a Bundle?

Jump on it all you want, it still: 1.) Has no relevance to the topic at hand. 2.) Is a silly thing to complain about (which I assume you'll continue because you have nothing to contribute w/r/t point 1). .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC -

Yep, the kind of klansman that is open and tolerant to nearly all walks of life, except those backwards morons who are too stupid to think for themselves, and attempt to push their uneducated agenda on others. I hope my hood is rainbow colored, or at least something sparkly and rad. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC -

Did I say: christian conservative == fundamentalist hillbilly Or did you make that leap? I think you made that leap. Would I want someone who is morally/religiously against abortion (and states that they intend pursue criminalization of abortions when elected) to become president? Absolutely not. Would I vote for someone who was morally/religiously against abortion (but states that it is a woman's right to choose)? Probably, if I liked their position on other issues. See a difference? (Probably not, I suspect) .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC -

Nobody said being Christian or any other faith is a bad thing. This applies to liberals, conserveratives, hell, probably even Canadians (hi skirt). The extent a political candidate will apply their faith-specific beliefs to their political agenda is potentially a concern, for me. Obama's faith does not pose a concern to me in terms of him doing a good job in office. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC -

Boo hoo, who gives a fuck. "Oh no, he went to church there, so certainly he agrees with every single thing Rev. Wright ever said." Right? Wrong. 1.) Who cares, that has absolutely zero relevance to what we're talking about. You can call black people whatever word you feel like. 2.) When did I call mountain people hillbillies? Try to pay attention. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC -

Everon said it best. We don't care if Obama is a Christian. We'd care if he was some fundamentalist hillbilly, but he doesn't really seem to be one, does he? Are monetary gifts the only way to support the troops? You shouldn't expect cookies, or for someone to fix your car or take care of your wife. You shouldn't expect generosity for doing your job. You should be pleasantly suprised when people do nice things for you. "Looking a gift horse in the mouth...?" .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC

Sean Bell, Trent Benefield and Joseph Guzman were boy scouts

Acquittals in Sean Bell's shooting spark outrage
n23x replied to CameraNewbie's topic in Speakers Corner
Are they back in jail? Having a criminal record doesn't take away all of your credibility, just like being a cop doesn't make you infallible. This is not a good argument. "He was armed with a car/pen/bag of skittles". Of course one can perpetrate violent acts with any number of household items. Police have to be better at assessing the actual risk to their own life, and even better at making the decision to use deadly force. This event seems to demonstrate that a poor decision process occured, and resulted in a death. I stand by my statement. If you are a person who may use deadly force in the field, you should be comfortable, accurate, and reliable when using it, even in high stress environments. A big component of an officer's job involves confronting people who have been doing something wrong, and correcting that. It's a high risk, high stress job, so yes, I expect them to be able to do all aspects of their job. I'd love to stay and continue this battle of wits, but unfortunately, you're not equipped. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC
