  1. Perhaps you should elaborate on your qualifications to make such a distinction. I'm sure we'll all (1) be terribly impressed and (2) recognize that you were right all along. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC
  2. So not enough mutual respect to read and respond to her posts, but enough that where she jumps is important? Just say, "I was talking out of my ass", and get on with it. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC
  3. A fat, ugly catholic! Say it ain't so. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC
  4. "It has to happen", but it's not a priority. Gotcha. You know, just whenever. That totally does not sound dumb. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC
  5. So... and then... It is a priority, or it isn't a priority? Like I said, you sound like a man with strong convictions, buy a plane ticket, justice is on your side! .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC
  6. You sound like a man with strong convictions. Buy yourself a plane ticket and "go get 'em". .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC
  7. Agreed 100%. The taser is NOT a compliance tool. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC

  9. Take it outside, no gymnastics/yoga poses required! .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC
  10. When you originally said: Perhaps when you're getting appointed to a higher position, you have someone dig back through taxes, dealings, whatever, to find any issues such that you can resolve them so the public doesn't get pissed at you. So, (1) just because he resolved this before this before the confirmation hearings doesn't mean he was "hiding it away" as you ASSume, and (2) it was for a service provided by a friend, not like he was scamming $100k's from the public or some incredibly shady dealing. Perhaps it is you that should "batten down the tard-hatch"? .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC
  11. So, he brought it up, and he took care of it, including interest. What are you more mad about, that your guy isn't in office anymore, or you couldn't afford to pay off a >100k$ self-induced IRS goof? .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC
  12. I've read quite a few about the conversions as well, and I suppose I can see positives to both sides. I have only shot/broken down DI, so I guess I can't really comment other than what I've read, and was curious to hear if people played with them really liked them that much more. Cleaner, cooler?, improved reliability, and adjustability? Worth the additional cost? .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC
  13. Fun Thread! (I've been looking at various uppers for a while, it'll be fun to hear some opinions) Mike, what's your reasoning for the piston upper? .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC
  14. (1) Perhaps there was a reason he was part time. And (2) You couldn't find anybody on your own continent whom you view as a moral compass? Case closed, you guys got me convinced! .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC
  15. That's not really correct though, is it? If the company has the financial incentive, they'd spring for the tests (which, to be honest don't really sound that prohibitive for product testing). The law directly restricts how a company distributes its individual product. It indirectly affects the availability of the guns that the company deems "additional market not worth additional testing", but not ALL guns. To be honest, I can't say I view this issue much different from smog tests. If the cost of testing was really prohibitive, then I might change my stance. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC
  16. It's been a while since I've sat through a church service, but my times have changed! Keep it classy, Chuck. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC
  17. You're right Marc! Having a baby IS a responsibility, and without all forms of family planning, contraceptives, and the infrequent abortion, more people are forced to accept a responsibility that they might not be able to handle. Once again, you bitch about responsibility without really having a complete understanding of it. But really, I expect nothing less. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC

  19. Marc, You bitch about social wellfare, and then bitch about family planning, and then bitch about abortions. Do you think any of the above 3 things are related!? Seriously? Just to be clear, it is stupid to force people to have children when they don't want to. It is unfair to the child to be born into such a situation, and unfair to the parents who may not be in a position to raise the child. You might even argue that it is unfair to the "fiscal responsibles" who may provide indirect support via wellfare! You argue responsibilities, yet (1) the choice of whether or not someone else decides to have a baby has NO effect on you, and (2) depending on the scenario, the more responsible decision might be to... not fire out a kid! .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC
  20. Elaborate on "full scope of making a bad decision"? When you say this: You are effectively saying: "You decided to have sex, so you HAVE to have the baby". It's making someone do something they either didn't want to do, or didn't intend to do, for a perceived transgression (in this case, sex). That is the definition of punishment! .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC
  21. I tend to agree with you! I think a decent amount of LEOs are out to do the right thing, and (at least locally) I have had mainly professional, friendly interactions with them. I also think that cops are subject to a more stressful environment, but expect that (as that is their chosen profession) they will train mentally and physically to operate well in that environment. The one thing that I think most of the people tend to disagree on is the punishment for LEOs who screw up big time. As professionals, they are held to a higher societal standard, a position of trust. The public needs to be able to feel confident, and that they can trust, people in that position. I would advocate stiffer penalties to demonstrate that corrupt behavior is neither rewarded, or covered up, or even just ignored. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC
  22. No, it's not our position to control the importance of a someone else's decision. We should provide as much legitimate unbiased information w/r/t parental planning, such that she can make an informed decision that best suits her specific situation. The differences between the male and female responsibilities (post-conception) makes this a stupid statement. Being forced to bear an unwanted child is a stupid punishment for... "playing with fire". .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC
  23. Weak. It is sad that you guys are wetting your pants about this. Feel proud knowing that fear allowed you to override your sense of right and wrong. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC
  24. The torture and subsequent murder of un-tried people sounds a lot like something a terrorist would do, doesn't it? It is important for the US to demonstrate that we are willing to hold ourselves to a higher standard. That means upholding human rights, providing swift and just trials, and being "better than the other guy". Doing dick shit like waterboarding and saying it's not torture, or trying to justify torture by questioning patriotism or suggesting it's worth the "win" is foolish and generates more enemies for the US. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC
  25. yep, mmmmhmmmm. (it's hard to impersonate slingblade via text) I heard BHO hasn't even READ the Constitution! Part of acting like an adult, or "a man", can involve publicly expressing your distaste. Not towing the line. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC
