Bill - correct me if I am wrong - but didn't you do a study showing that an agressive policy on line set replacements, and brake line maintenance also helped lower the amount of lineovers you were getting on the EZ canopies? Pretty much the same here. I was glad to have the extra alti on my spinning mal - had me under my reserve by 1100-1200. I think the lowest I have ever started to pull is around 1800-1900 after a very zooish bigway with terrible tracking seperation. I didn't do it for reasons of freedom of speech, indecency, etc - it was more along the lines of a radio war. This goes back about 10 years when Stern was on/off/on/off in Chicago due to a variety of politics, contracts and on/off air fighting. Plus I was paid decent money for what I did (hey, I was a broke college student). Now is something different - now it is a matter of big government making decisions of free speech due to a sensationalized, over-hyped moment that most of the country laughed at and wasn't offended by. I'll draw a comparison - often after a skydiver goes in and the media jumps all over it you tend to get some official that wants to impose laws, rules, etc....then the moment passes and no one cares anymore. You have a bunch of politicians in an election year making a big deal out of nothing and trying to make an example out of an easy target. No love lost between the two of us...I helped get him off the air in Chicago and he named me in a lawsuit. I find his show lacking of talent and any real entertainment value for radio. Not trying to hijack this thread - but logic would say that a good portion of this country wants him on the air. One of the largest syndicated shows in the country, one of the largest listener bases in the country, some of the highest billable advertisments in syndication, ranks tops in most markets he is in - including the #1 radio market in the country, a successful movie, a couple successful books, and a TV show. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me....
