The whole issue seems to be dying off already, just what CBS would want.

Dan Rather "memo's" report was fair and balanced
Mirage63 replied to Mirage63's topic in Speakers Corner
I may stand somewhat corrected, there does seem to be some reporting by other sources. "A detailed comparison by The Washington Post of memos obtained by CBS News with authenticated documents on Bush's National Guard service reveals dozens of inconsistencies, ranging from conflicting military terminology to different word-processing techniques." I am not including Fox only because some people here would discredit anything they say (maybe right, maybe wrong) Home at lunch today, there does seem to be more on the T.V. about the whole thing. One point that seems to be coming out is that CBS and Dan Rather will stick by the story no matter what because that is easier - and in the end will be less damaging - than saying more information has come forword and here's the new information. Sad when the spin becomes more important than the facts. -
Dan Rather "memo's" report was fair and balanced
Mirage63 replied to Mirage63's topic in Speakers Corner
I know the term "fair and balanced" will set some of the folks off here, that's not my point. There seems to be enough other sources that have come out that there is some chance that the memo's are forgeries. Has anyone caught anything from NBC addressing the chance that the memo's may be forgeries? I don't believe that this will be tied back to J.K. but I do believe that it makes Dan Rather look like a very poor reporter. Where were was the other side of the story? -
And yes, I'm a liberal. When people call all liberals liars, stupid, dupes, or anything else, they're talking about me. Wendy W. Wendy, I've always read your responses because they have seemed to be fair and informative - but could you agree that sometimes the conservaitives get call liars, stupid, dupes? I mean in general both groups have there supporters here, neither is "better" than the other.

Just thought some of you might like to see this: "New York: For the first time since the Presidential race became a two person contest last spring, there is a clear leader, the latest TIME poll shows. If the 2004 election for President were held today, 52% of likely voters surveyed would vote for President George W. Bush, 41% would vote for Democratic nominee John Kerry, and 3% would vote for Ralph Nader, according to a new TIME poll conducted from Aug. 31 to Sept. 2. Poll results are available on TIME.com and will appear in the upcoming issue of TIME magazine, on newsstands Monday, Sept. 6. " Way to early but it's fun to share the love

The "talking heads" said that was because most of the people had made up there minds and the convention wouldn't make a difference. Maybe Maybe not

While I respect Indian Larry's accomplishments and his passion for motorcycling I really think he exercised poor judgement as well. I have a friend that has been a professional motorcycle stunt man for as long as, if not longer than, Indian Larry and was saved on many occasions by his helmet and leathers. LOL- I must be feeling froggy today but...... to ride with or without a helmet is (to me) like jumping. I jump with a helmet, ride my motorcycle with a helmet. But if you have an accident on a motorcycle non-riders aren't going to say. "Oh but at least he was wearing a helmet" Most are going to call you dumb for RIDING. Yes he might still be here if he had worn a helmet but, better yet he sure would have been here if he hadn't gotten on the bike. Once you step out of the norm (bike, scuba, flying, jumping) you have placed yourself in danger. He may have placed himself in more than YOU would by not wearing a helmet, but you already place yourself in more than 99% of the people by skydiving. Maybe a neat way to say it is, don't throw bricks in a glass house!

Your comment is out of line. Why's that? He was doing stunts without a helmet... you're telling me that was smart? Your telling me that jumping out of an airplane is smart, with or without a helmet???? You do realize that can die jumping and still have done EVERYTHING right? Your comment lackes reflection

Here's my wisdom: ANYONE BUT BUSH. But Kallend, you told me that you have never voted for anyone during there second term - so in effect what you really mean is not just Bush but NOBODY twice!
-
Why isn't this in the main stream news?
-
No he didn't. He looked like he was upset, that he believed what he was saying and that he was offended at the direction that the party he has been a part of his whole life has headed. A much more important speaker than Ron Regan.

LOL 1. Your already on it 2. IT IS THE SUNSET JUMP But here's a solution so we don't have to break any legs. You guys get as many people to sign up for the sunset dive, (FF) we (RW) will get as many as we can to sign up. Who ever has the most get's the Otter, the other the KA. That should make everybody happy. -

How about all the rw people who are interested, we have a 10 way speed star comp? Rumor is Kevin Murphy might show up - you could hit him full on and not move him an inch. -
Hey Kallend, You going to be at POP's this year? If so I'm going to apply some "Physics" to that little old head. Hope to see you there Fortson
