I'm sure for most (NOT MEANT TO BE RACIST) black kids it isn't hard to obtain real weed due to it being the culture, and the fact that source of most weed is from African Americans in this city not sure if its because they are the growers or the dealers, but that is who is behind the major busts that happen. Until recently it was legal in Louisiana to buy it at gas stations, but you can still find it very easy under the names mojo, or cloud 9, etc which leads to kids and early 20's to use it instead of the more illegal and harder to get actual weed. We are getting in the Baton Rouge metro area probably 20 calls a week with someone suffering from actual emergencies, and not just anxiety etc. Another issue is that the government is having a hard time keeping it under control. You cant just make the drug name MOJO illegal so they use the actual chemical names. Well once its on the list the makers of this toxic shit are changing the chemical make up just enough to not meet the definitions, and its back out on the streets with the same effects. TLDR weed is not harmful but illegal and harder to get so its pushing kids away:MOJO is super toxic, easy to get, and only slightly illegal so thats what they are doing now.

Just because your not in a combat role your still over there and subject to snipers and IED's which is what killed majority of soldiers over there anyways, so they are not out of harms way by any means. Not to mention the suicide trainees that sneak in as a committed security force members to only blow up us soldiers, and other personnel that are doing the training.

Cops cant take that chance that your NOT a serial killer either. I treat all cops as the nice good ones until I find out otherwise then I respond in kind. Social media is a huge tool to hit directly at the heart of your problem with local government especially if a tax is coming up. There are a few times we have had this work great! One was a motorcycle cop acting an ass to a homeowner who's barn was on fire, and he would not let him pass his "roadblock" to get to his animals that were now on the loose, he even gave him a ticket for disobeying an officer, and as soon as it hit the city's Facebook it got taken care of REAL FAST!

If you have any notion that I want the "Patriot" act renewed, you truly know nothing about me nor my politics. Ok I took it as you were pissed at him for even trying a "silly fillibuster". Even if it was just publicity for himself, or just a silly stall tactic it still made TONS of news and brought MILLIONS of people to read about whats going on, which is a good thing in my book to try to end this thing. Look at how successful a simple heads up link is on a place like reddit.com over things like net neutrality, cooperate monopolies, shitty companies like comcast, etc. A link about whats going on behind the curtain is seen by millions of users, and the word spreads, emails, phone calls, and letters are written, and it generally has a favorable measurable impact on the topic that was brought to everyone's attention. If even something like that was the only thing accomplished by this filibuster, or any of them its a win in my opinion.

I read that if he was able to go to 12:01 it would allow another day of discussion, which is what he wanted. Technically he could have the floor until 1 or 2 am iirc, but all that was needed to allow it was for him to talk till 12:01 for the second day of talks to automatically kick in.
