    Most homes I have seen have a 200 amp main breaker. Normal usage is far less than this. An emergancy power outage would lower the demand even more, down to mayb 10-30 amps @ 240 per home. OK that's 240amps at 240 ( I think it's a bit low but anyway). So you need a piece of 4/0 cable coming from your car IF it can produce 240.

    So, What voltage are we talking about? 7 or 8 homes use 400 or 500 amps at 240.

    Print media is becoming less prevalent, but that doesn't mean less communication. What it does mean is we will look more to the web and sites like this for our information. I think this is a huge opportunity for the owners of this site to step up. What DZ.com does it does well, but it needs to do more. For those who wrote for skydiving it is time not to rest your pen, but to publish elsewhere. When I visit this site constantly wish for more magazine style content. Hopefully we will see the void filled by this site or another.

    I think the fact that the fight is related to an instructional scenario on the DZ adds complexity to that decision. One of your instructors (I realize not really one of yours TK) interjected when a non-coach was coaching and omitted a safety related component of the skill. This lead to the assault. The staff member's piss poor technique (chiming in from across the room) didn't help, and the fact that the novice was a woman may have been an aggravating factor. Are you still sure this is none of your business. Do you want your instructors to take a 'not my job' attitude to safety concerns on the DZ due to intimidation.

    Right, so "keep drinking the koolaid" implys either that you're on drugs or that you are otherwise mentally imballanced, thereby playing the player rather than the ball. Not quite. It implies that you are in thrall to a charismatic leader and are unthinkingly following him. Jim Jones did not 'slip' poison into the Kool-aid. It was put in with the full knowledge of the adults as a method to get the children to drink it. The full investigation showed that many there balked in the end and were murdered by the leaders, but the original picture the world was given was one of complete sycophancy.

The holocaust did not justify wholesale killing of German citizens. War crimes in retaliation for war crimes are still war crimes.

    Does anyone really believe that Hillary's camp would not have dealt with this a year and a half ago. Just who are these shadowy back room types that have the power to thwart both the Clinton machine and the RNC? Obama the manchurian candidate for whom? The military industrial complex? The Council on Foreign Relations The Mob? The KGB? Who? I re-ask the question someone asked earlier; if Obama is a natural born American, what would that look like?

    Don't worry it will be north of the border for a few days yet. At the moment it is north of Alberta's northern border.

    The jet stream is currently about 1000 miles north of Denver. Enjoy it while it lasts. the JS is slated to start moving south tomorrow.

    1.Being the son of a British subject does not disqualify you if you were born in the US. 2. Even if he wasn't born in the US (he was) he was born to an American mother- case closed. 3. The government of Hawaii has stated that his birth record is there. I did not see the 'treatment' you are referring to as I tuned in just before the speech. I did see the leaders of several European nations decline to shake his hand during his last trip over there. That speaks volumes as to how reviled he is around the world. GWB violated the US constitution repeatedly throughout his tenure and is a war criminal. What is shameful is that he will not be prosecuted because no one wants to shake the tree that hard.

    I do not think you are ready to downsize until you have mastered what you have. If you want to swoop why don't you learn to swoop your Sabre? I disagree that the recovery arc is too short to learn to swoop. If you change to a Sabre 2 or a Safire 2 without downsizing that is fine, but if you downsize you are setting yourself back in your progression as now you will have to will if you have any brains devote a bunch of jumps to flying and landing your new canopy. Trying to learn to swoop on a canopy you are not familiar with is not the best idea.

    Since Google operates every hour of the year it amounts to 85.62 KW worldwide. That really isn't that much. It is the equivalent of about 71 toasters running.

    Unless someone removed it, that canopy should have a bridle attachment on it. Which would have voided the TSO.

    The plague exists in US now. I think an attack would be of limit value as the drugs are available and effective,...for now.
