It hasn't stopped snowing for two days now.

Sounds like you need airlift and nothing else; no coaching, no people to jump with, etc. Lodi is the cheapest and the most likely to have an aircraft ready when you are.

King Abdullah; American OCCUPATION of Iraq illegal

Why on earth would we do that? There's no oil in Nebraska. -
CNN just reported that that episode along with the rest of season one is coming out on DVD.

Bryan Burke - SDAZ 270 Policy notes
Andrewwhyte replied to billvon's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Yeah, I'm sure the airspeed guys are absolutely chuffed that thet can't do 270's or more . But who pays the jump tickets? Thier new syncronised 90's will be quite impressive. Airspeed always get their own pass when training. -

Of course Airspeed get their own pass when they are training. -

Perhaps you should read their posts again. When they say that it isn't economically viable, and that swooping, like classic accuarcy, is not encouraged makes it sound like if you want to ask for a low pass you might as well ask them to cut off their right arm. -

Again you are reading into this things that are not there. No one has said there will be no more low passes on regular Eloy jump days; read what Bryan, Betsy and Larry wrote again. -
Okanogan Sunshine Boogy in Vernon?
Andrewwhyte replied to Ktownbret's topic in Events & Places to Jump
July long weekend has Alberta provincials again this year. This would detract from your attendance and limit your aircraft availability. The KPOW otter is committed. If you decide to use that weekend you would be advised to keep your aspirations (and exposure) lower and see how it goes the first year. -
Skydive Arizona Landing Policy

Betsy, can you clarify how this new policy affects the pond area. Thanx -
Bryan Burke - SDAZ 270 Policy notes
Andrewwhyte replied to billvon's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Wrong on both counts. Bryan said no turns over 180 in the two main landing areas. When i was there this winter the swooping pond was not considered part of the north area. Unless I am reading this wrong 270s, 360s, 720s etc. will be tolerated in that area as long as the maneuvers do not impact upon the north landing area traffic pattern. Brian also said plane loads of low passes are not economical and single low passes are not practical when more than two aircraft are in the air. Is this any different than it has always been? I do have a question for Betsy. When logistics allow for low passes, are high performance landings still restricted to the pond area or are they allowed in the north landing area for those on the h/p pass? -
The lessons from history are stark. Win the war, you're a hero. Lose the war you can expect your own to turn on you. So now the question, is the coalition losing the war? Yes they are. Bush says they can win if people are patient; he may or may not be right. The problem is that when he started the war the terms of victory were oversold to the public. Now announcing new goalposts is the only thing W can do, but less and less of the public are buying it. If the US troops pull out and a stable, moderately respectful of human rights, western friendly regime (democratic optional) is not in place, The US will have lost another war.

Spend an afternoon with "Ansel Adams:California" and you will have a list of must sees longer than your time budget.

His big problem was he just couldn't fall down after the knock out punch; Klitschko hit him about four more times after he was done.

This is just another example of why we need chainsaw controls. Ya, ya I know, Chainsaws don't kill people,...

Washington seems to me to be the school with the most notable rep. If you can't handle the rain coast though, then you gotta go. Clearly Colorado has the (outdoor) lifestyle edge. Oh ya,... TUNNEL!

Rob Hutchison formerly of Winnipeg Skydivers announced tonight that The dropzone at the old Didsbury DZ site will open on Saturday May 5 with jumping all day followed by a Cinco de Mayo fiesta hosted by the Calgary Parachute Club. Everyone in the Calgary area, let's come out and re-baptize the old DZ right. There may even be some adult beverages served; who knows?

Right on! Take them and run.

I ran out of gas in my driveway a couple of months ago in Casa Grande. So, with my Gerry Can I set out to the gas bar about 2 miles away. I was walking along, not hitch-hiking or anything, when this lady drove by. A couple of minutes later she pulls up on my side of the street and offers me a ride. She gave me a ride to the gas station and back to my car. She was originally from Guatemala but had been in the US for sixteen years. I couldn't help but think that if she was a white lady and I was an hispanic guy, I would have walked the whole way.

The authorization required is to confirm that installing the product will not interfere with the certificated system. It doesn't matter whether or not the opener will work, it only matters that it will not cause a problem.

Fuck! Are you really defending airline baggage handling departments? Or do you just have a 'potshot on sight' policy wrt John?

In the 2006-2007 Alberta budget health care expenditures were estimated at ~8.3B $Cdn for ~3.5million people. It works out to ~2500/capita/anum. At 1$CDN= $0.86 that is about $2150.00 per year. For that we have elective surgery waiting lists of months and even years. Non critical, necessary treatment (you know early stage cancer) has shorter waiting lists, but they can still be lethal. Last week a woman was flown to Montana to give birth due to a lack of neo-natal beds in Calgary (or anywhere else in Alberta). Remember our healthcare prices are way less than yours for virtually any treatment or drug. Some sort of blanket coverage needs to come to the US, but the 'everyone in the same boat' system is collapsing here. BTW Most of us also have some sort of private secondary coverage for prescriptions, semi-private rooms, dental etc. Those costs would be over and above the gov's estimates.
