    As much as I proudly wear the "gun nut" title ACME has bestwed upon me, that's not why it bothered me of rhte movie. The tobacco lawsuit situation laid a real life foundation for the book to follow. No such foundation existed for firearms other than issues in hollywood head-cases.     Just to bring this thread closer to its beginnings, I am now the proud owner of my first revolver (not my first firearm). It is a Taurus 650 CIA stainless steel. It is sweet.     See, that's where you and I are differing. I believe rights should be viewed as widely as possible, whereas you seem to think they should be read as strictly as possible.     You are right, not EVERY democrat has been an enemy of the second amendment; Zell Miller comes to mind. However, most democrats are actively hostile towards your right to keep and bear, or they don't care enough to go against the party line. Kerry has been a perfect voting close of Ted Kennedy.     Well, that does seem to be one of the major thoughts behind that amendmend to your constitution. Off course, you immediately have to follow it with some silly rant about gun owners and violence. OK, try to keep up here. That is one of many thoughts behind the second amendment. However, what on this green earth makes you think that anyone thinks that should be the first answer to bad government? I'm asking you why you think an huge portion of our population is hungry for violence? Otherwise why would the first answer to a problem be marching on the capital and opening fire? Let me spell it out for you. The amendment exists to ensure a last chance in the worst case scenario. It does not exist to encourage violence.
