If you need to get the wing loads closer it may be better than some people upsize instead of others downsizing. Or can a CReW expert on a 126 not fly a 160?
-
Wouldn't be a bad idea in my opinion. However, the state seems to have got in on the act. If you don't get married in a church, then marriage is nothing more than a contract between two people. In my opinion, both are just plain wrong. But if I must pick a difference then I am afraid that I can only come up with what has been said already, the problems if siblings reproduce.

Unconcious might kill you. When concious I have no idea because I have no idea of your experience. If you are staying with the hornet 170 you jump I suggest you go bigger with the reserve. If you downsize your main I still suggest you go bigger with your reserve. A big reserve does no harm right

I have addressed your question. It's just that I don't believe gays or siblings should be allowed to marry. It's nothing to do with discrimination, it's to do with gays, just as siblings, do not fullfil the requirents for marraige ( the joining together of a man and a women in holy matrimony). And siblings do co-habit.
-
The best part of my marraige was the day we got..... divorced.
-
I will probaly get flamed for this but... A man and a women can get married, period. No exceptions, that is the definition of marraige. Now if two people want to co-habit that's fine, no matter what sex they are. If there are financial advantages to being married, you either give the advantages to people who co-habit or remove them all together.

I was starting to believe it as well

Exit weight 171 lbs PD 265 for 14 jumps PD 235 for 33 jumps Springo 160 for 200 jumps Stiletto 135 for 200 jumps Vengeance 120 for 400 jumps Swopping about between Nitro 88, Vengeance 120, VX 99, Blade 88 for 250 jumps Finally settled for a velocity 90 for the last 40 jumps and hopefully the next 1000 jumps. I don't recommend this, it's just what I did.

I think what faulknerwn said in an earlier post was rather interesting. It matched very well to what happened when I did a CReW course 2 years ago. I was new to CReW and had about 300 jumps. At the time I was jumping a stiletto 135. My exit weight is 171 lbs. What type of canopy was I given? A PD lightning 160. My instructor was jumping what he normally jumps and our wing loads certainly did not match. But this was no problem. We did not need matching wing loads, it was after all a course and not competition. Whether a larger canopy would have helped the person who was injured is speculation, but I am sure it would not have made things worse. There is simpley no justification for putting someone with low jump numbers on a high wing loading.

This is not a reply just something to add. I think the best solution is that someone that really understand the seperation issues uses the tools and presentation material from Kallend (He has already said it's ree to use). This person tries to educate everyone on the dropzone as to what really counts for exit seperation. Before the first jump of the day, a few of the people in the know work out a reasonable exit seperation based on weather reports. This is revised once the pilot has assesed the wind using GPS. This is further revised during the day as the weather and winds dictate. I was asked only last weekend by a jumper how long should he wait after I jumped. I had to bite my lip to stop my self laughing. You see we were jumping from a C182 at 5000ft. The winds at 5000ft were about 20kts, dropping to 8 kts on the ground. We were all exiting solo. I told the guy to leave 7 seconds The way I see it, once you understand what is going on, unless you are operating large turbines, you can always err on the side of saftey. You have lots of space to play with. If you are operating large turbines, then you should have a bunch of people capable of informing the less knowledgable about the exit timing.
-
Not true, just up the the IAS at exit to 100 kts It's is of course no use at all for working out exit seperation.

How do you erase the the tape?

I voted less than 24hrs. It was a video of two idiots jumping while wearing blue plastic noses. Another guy jumped with an inflated condom attached to his helmet Just don't ask..... -
Practicing rear riser manoeuvres at altitude
velo90 replied to conor's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
On one jump last weekend I pulled straight after exiting at 5,000ft and started practicing, 90° front riser turn, then rear riser input. You can feel what the canopy is doing even if you cannot see exactly how it planes out. Anyway, continued the front then rear pactice, then came in to land.... I was so tired will all the effort up high, I just flared and landed normally One thing though, I don't like playing about with the risers and toogles with gloves on. I want to be able to feel what I am holding. -
Are you referring to a specific canopy? In my experience tail rolling is only helps to keep the pack job together.

And now what VonSanta said vonSanta does something that is admirable, he thinks about what he is going to say before he says it. Even though he would like to say how he did things, he doesn't. I hope vonSanta one day becomes an instructor himself.

Re: [Martini] Opening High for Bad Spots

Excellent quiz Kallend You tell a nice stroy as well, I really liked the guy messing with his booties. It's rather sad that 550 ft did not pop into peoples head straight away. But there again, unless you forget about the ground you will let all the references to the ground in your story affect how you answer. What's more, unless you ignore the ground, you never see all the other useful hints in your story. -
I haven't yet seen an emoticon representing "tearing my hair out" . Cool idea?

Who gives a shit. No one is going to shoot me for stealing their Chicken Mc'nuggets

Errr , Kallend is as near as we get to Isaac Newton here, trust him. -
I know, it's hard, been there and done that. Draw something on paper and then pretend your are landing at 3000ft. That's where you need separation, not on the ground. Does this help?
-
Smart ass I will be in Thailand in soon. Hope you left a good impression Edited for slpeing
-
Shit I forgot about that By the way, your avatar scares me
-
No devils advocate, my dropzone where we have plenty of outs, pull high if you are hosed. But there again, we understand at least someting about separation, so it's not a problem. If it makes you happier, we don't have multiple jump planes either.
-
Because I will now go to bed and in less than 12 hours be jumping again.
