JerryBaumchen replied to JoeWeber's topic in Speakers Corner
Hi airdvr, And when the Warren Comm. finished their work, LBJ signed 'something' so that no one alive at that time could ever see it. That includes me. Do you think LBJ was a conspirator? Jerry Baumchen -

Hi Keith, Re: I am looking for a leader that can work toward unifying both parties. I like to be optimistic, but I wonder if there is one. I'll continue to stay hopeful. Possibly Gavin Newsom or Paul Ryan. That's one from each major party with, IMO, neither from the extremes. I am fairly certain that both are planning on a run for POTUS. Anybody else with a suggestion or two? Jerry Baumchen

Powerful speech by Biden on the assault on Democracy
JerryBaumchen replied to JoeWeber's topic in Speakers Corner
Hi Phil, In your video, he says that he knows more about wind than anybody. Well, that along with hot air, I agree. Jerry Baumchen PS) I think his 'wind' & my 'wind' are rather different. PPS) What a total fucking idiot. -
Powerful speech by Biden on the assault on Democracy
JerryBaumchen replied to JoeWeber's topic in Speakers Corner
Hi Don, Well, that is not how Donald Trump sees it. He says most of the glass was outside & that means it was a break-out. I mean, he is the expert on everything, right? Jerry Baumchen PS) If I could be a decent on-screen reader, I would not have to do all of these edits. Sheeese. -

Hi folks, SPOILER: If you plan on reading this book you might not want to read any further. I just finished reading this latest John Grisham book. I know I am old, but I like to think my reading comprehension is still working OK. Near the end of [ I think ] Chap 52, Sherrif Fats shoots himself out on a dock. Later in the book, he is freezing in Maine & then even later is doing time somewhere. Anyone have a thought or two? Jerry Baumchen

Hi Wendy, Pres. Jimmie Carter pardoned all the draft dodgers that went to Canada. At first, I was sort of irked about his doing this. Later, I came to accept it. I see no reason for not doing the same for Jane Fonda, I mean, who wants to have what they at 17 did in the back seat of their dad's Chevy, hang over their head for the rest of their life? IMO Jane has more than atoned for what she did. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Sky, As one who have never used or been a part of Twitter, I think it is time to get some popcorn going & sit back and watch what happens. At least the entertainment is free. Jerry Baumchen

Hi jakee, Back in 1964 ( I think it was then ), due to crap like this, the military took over ( a coup ) and ran the country until about the late 80's ( I think it was then ). Could happen again. Jerry Baumchen

Hi folks, A little more info on this subject: Ringleader of Trump-aligned election officials nears Nevada takeover - POLITICO He has called for eliminating mail voting, curtailing early voting and pushing for hand counts of ballots — despite evidence that the practice is more error-prone than using machines — and could generally make it more difficult to vote in the state. And, back in 2020, Michael Flynn wanted the military to confiscate all election ballot counting machines. Looks like they are trying to get there one way or the other. The people of this country must step & vote so these things do not happen. Jerry Baumchen

Another upside down thing to affirm our pretentiousness
JerryBaumchen replied to JoeWeber's topic in Speakers Corner
Hi folks, I probably should stay out of this one; but, we all know how it is. There is a lot of 'art' that I think is garbage. Others think differently. So what!!!!!!! We are all individuals with our own likes, dislikes, etc. I have never told anyone that I think his wife is ugly. Jerry Baumchen PS) My all-time favorite painting is Twilight in the Wilderness: Twilight in the Wilderness - Wikipedia The original is in the Cleveland Museum of Art, in Cleveland, OH; I have seen it there. A copy of it hangs over the fireplace in my Family Room. -
Hi John, I am 82 yrs old. I have travelled in Asia, South America, Europe [ including some eastern European countries ], Mexico, Canada & 44 of the US states. I have never needed a gun, or any other type of weapon, to protect myself. It is clearly phooey! for anyone that looks into it. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Bill, Then why are you quoting from what Pres. Biden said in 2021? Either you are 'focused on the current world' or you are not. You cannot have it both ways. Jerry Baumchen PS) Re: Trump is gone If only.

Hi Bill, IMO the bigger problem is how widespread it is. They see what they want to see. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Bill, In 1966, the Bureau of Land Management had preliminary drawings of a large pipeline to carry water from the mouth of the Columbia River to southern California. Who knows, they might still have them. Jerry Baumchen
