Hi folks, Some hope on the horizon: And they often prevailed in court . . . to unravel executive orders and directives from the most powerful elected leader in the world. Democratic attorneys general prep for role as last line of defense in Trump era • Oregon Capital Chronicle Jerry Baumchen

Hi 698, What I find 'gutless' are those people who would not show their support for Trump until after he won on 5 Nov. IMO it is the 'gutless' who will not stand up & be counted. Dietrich Bonhoeffer - Wikipedia Jerry Baumchen -
Hi John, That are not the only ones: US business leaders and analysts have warned that the loss of labor and tax revenue could severely damage the economy. What Donald Trump’s mass deportation plans could mean for the US economy | Semafor Think Joe 6-Pack will still be glad he voted for Trump? Jerry Baumchen PS) Let us not forget that one of Trump's instructors at Wharton said that Trump was the dumbest student he ever had.

Hi folks, Re: The largest percentage changes in manufacturing jobs were in Nevada (up 14%), Utah (up 11%), and Arizona and Florida (each up 9%). The largest raw numbers of new manufacturing jobs were in Texas (up 48,200), Florida (up 35,100) and Georgia (up 22,900). And: Southern states such as Alabama and Mississippi also have seen more automotive jobs as manufacturers have taken advantage of lower costs and state “right-to-work” laws that weaken unions. Manufacturing already has made a comeback • Oregon Capital Chronicle Some good - some not so good. Thoughts???????? Jerry Baumchen

Hi Joe, I am sure that there is. I was only trying to comment on some results of a 75% reduction in the federal work-force. Most people in this country have no idea on just how that would effect them. Jerry Baumchen

Hi folks, Trump/Musk have made statements about reducing the number of federal gov't employees by 75%. I spent 34 yrs working for the federal gov't. I worked for one agency for 30 yrs. I often said that if we could reduce the workforce by a chosen 30%, we could be +100% more efficient. I am not opposed to some reduction. 1) You own a home in Florida. A hurricane comes along and wipes you and all of your neighbors out; your house is flattened. FEMA comes in to help. However, they cannot do the job because they are now staffed at 25% of the necessary work-force. Aren't you glad that you voted for Trump? 2) You have built a nice retirement home out in the boonies. This where your wife & you have chosen to spend your golden yrs. A wild-fire comes along on the adjacent federally-owned land. It is closing in on your house. In comes the federal forest-fire fighters. However, they are staffed at 25% of the necessary work-force. Your house is lost. Aren't you glad that you voted for Trump? 3) You are a DZO and your airplane is at 13,000 ft with a full load of tandem students. The pilot keys the mike to contact ATC. No one answers. He tries again, same no result. The pilot has to land with his full load of customers. Aren't you glad that you voted for Trump? And, that is just a beginning. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Bill, And, my add-ons to that list: Gretchen Whitmer - Gov of Michigan Jay Inslee - Gov of Washington Bob Ferguson - incoming Gov of Washington Gavin Newsom - Gov of California Sherrod Brown - outgoing Sen from Ohio Ron Wyden - Sen from Oregon I think I could from here to New Years and my list would not be complete. Hi Bill, This is exactly it; we all get some form of federal largesse. The test will be how people will handle the reductions. Jerry Baumchen -

Hi 698, Those institutions did not vote for anyone. They are not what I was referring to -> the voters. Jerry Baumchen PS) If Trump/Musk get this reducing the federal gov't going quickly, what do you think the mid-term elections will look like? -
Hi Joe, Now, sir; you are talking blasphemy. The only debt that I have ever had was the two houses that I financed. Not one car payment, ever. It is not easy; but, like not borrowing money to get a college degree, it can be accomplished. Jerry Baumchen

Hi John, Last nite I was reading where Musk intends to reduce the fed gov't by 75%. Trump has stated that he will lower federal spending. That ox goring is going to happen to a LOT of people. I wonder how many people who voted for Trump get some kind of federal gov't largesse. Most people simply do not know that they are getting it. Jerry Baumchen -
