Hi folks, Slowly, but surely, they are beginning to see the light: “So I’d rather take my chances with a president whose competence I doubt and whose policies I dislike than one whose character I detest,” he said. NYT's Bret Stephens explains why he's backing Kamala Harris over Donald Trump We can only hope that there is a lot more of them come 5 Nov. Jerry Baumchen

Hi folks, There is no limit to what this SOB will do: “But they say it’s the most…I think Iwo Jima is right there. They took a lot of bullets putting up the flag.” Trump compares image of Butler assassination attempt to Iwo Jima photo So, what do all of you Trumpers think of this? I'm listening, Jerry Baumchen

GOP Talking Points The cruder the better
JerryBaumchen replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner
Hi Phil, Think he will institute Pecker Measuring Contests if he gets back into office? I wonder how Trump would do. He is a real man in his mind only. As most 'real men' are. Jerry Baumchen PS) Just how in the hell does anyone who professes to be a Christian support this dufus? -
Hi folks, I would expect nothing less from today's GOP: The farmers targeted by false claims over Kamala Harris advert Jerry Baumchen

Hi Nigel, Re: It makes me wonder what the outcome of severe water shortages would be in major cities. My understanding is that an adult human can go about 30 days without food; and, about 3-4 days without water. Re: Unfortunately business and their cosy relationship with politicians exacerbate the problem. Nothing new in that. Re: I think there is lots we can do to help at a personal level. But, would it actually make a difference? IMO the solutions need to be on a global scale if humanity is to survive. I am doubtful. Jerry Baumchen

Hi tk, Indeed. Jerry Baumchen

Hi folks, IMO this is a direct result of our breeding ourselves into oblivion: For the first time in human history, we are pushing the global water cycle out of balance Global water cycle off balance for ‘first time in human history,’ threatening half the planet’s food production (msn.com) While I will not be around to suffer from it; it is possible that my grandchildren will. Thoughts? Jerry Baumchen

Hi Nigel, I think you are right. On another note: It does seem as though the Trump campaign cannot keep from continuing to lie to us: Fox News did not disclose that the female audience it selected for the event was packed with local Republican supporters and the network edited its broadcast to remove some of their vocal advocacy of Trump. Hi Nigel, Re: Men are in crisis and scared. Re: Trump has proven to be good at connecting at an emotional level with younger men. Not to be putting words in your mouth; but, my thinking is that these are men without a formal education. When I graduated high school in 1958, a 18-yr old could find lots of jobs on offer. They were of the manual labor type; but, they were there. IMO this is not the case anymore; at least, not here in the US. I think these are the 'men' that are attracted to Trump. For some mistaken reason, they seem to think that he is going to bring back those jobs that are now gone for good. IMO what they fail to grasp is that, of all major politicians, Trump is the one who cares the least about them. Just some thoughts, Jerry Baumchen PS) Re: Suicide is the leading cause of death in men under 45 (in Australia). Could you provide some insight on this? My best friend in life immigrated to Australia in 1971; he had a degree in Marine Biology. He could not find much work in his field & ended being an airplane mechanic. In 2004, at age 61, he took his own life.
