  3. Hi Wendy, Re: D-37, cancelled by USPA. That’d be an interesting story! I was thinking the same thing. Re: Nate Pond was D-69 I seem to remember his son was D-6969. Re: I wonder why he’s not on the list. That list has a number of voids. The best jumper in the early 60's was Dick Fortenberry, D-38; he is also not there. Who knows how the list was put together. 7. Hi John, It looks to me like Trump knifed him in the back: Trump, in a social media post, said: “I greatly appreciate the recent efforts of Matt Gaetz in seeking approval to be Attorney General. He was doing very well but, at the same time, did not want to be a distraction for the Administration, for which he has much respect. Matt has a wonderful future, and I look forward to watching all of the great things he will do!” Not a word of support for Gaetz. 12. Hi 698, What I find 'gutless' are those people who would not show their support for Trump until after he won on 5 Nov. IMO it is the 'gutless' who will not stand up & be counted. Dietrich Bonhoeffer - Wikipedia Jerry Baumchen
  13. Hi John, That are not the only ones: US business leaders and analysts have warned that the loss of labor and tax revenue could severely damage the economy. 18. Hi folks, Re: The largest percentage changes in manufacturing jobs were in Nevada (up 14%), Utah (up 11%), and Arizona and Florida (each up 9%). The largest raw numbers of new manufacturing jobs were in Texas (up 48,200), Florida (up 35,100) and Georgia (up 22,900). And: Southern states such as Alabama and Mississippi also have seen more automotive jobs as manufacturers have taken advantage of lower costs and state “right-to-work” laws that weaken unions. Manufacturing already has made a comeback • Oregon Capital Chronicle Some good - some not so good. Thoughts???????? Jerry Baumchen
  19. Hi Joe, I am sure that there is. I was only trying to comment on some results of a 75% reduction in the federal work-force. Most people in this country have no idea on just how that would effect them. Jerry Baumchen
  20. Hi Joe, It would not be your pilot's license on the line. Jerry Baumchen
  21. Hi folks, Trump/Musk have made statements about reducing the number of federal gov't employees by 75%. I spent 34 yrs working for the federal gov't. I worked for one agency for 30 yrs. I often said that if we could reduce the workforce by a chosen 30%, we could be +100% more efficient. I am not opposed to some reduction. 1) You own a home in Florida. A hurricane comes along and wipes you and all of your neighbors out; your house is flattened. FEMA comes in to help. However, they cannot do the job because they are now staffed at 25% of the necessary work-force. Aren't you glad that you voted for Trump? 2) You have built a nice retirement home out in the boonies. This where your wife & you have chosen to spend your golden yrs. A wild-fire comes along on the adjacent federally-owned land. It is closing in on your house. In comes the federal forest-fire fighters. However, they are staffed at 25% of the necessary work-force. Your house is lost. Aren't you glad that you voted for Trump? 3) You are a DZO and your airplane is at 13,000 ft with a full load of tandem students. The pilot keys the mike to contact ATC. No one answers. He tries again, same no result. The pilot has to land with his full load of customers. Aren't you glad that you voted for Trump? And, that is just a beginning. Jerry Baumchen
  22.
