Hi folks, Talk about the understatement of the year: told citizens to prepare for hard times As if things were not 'hard' enough already. Kim Jong-un warns of North Korea crisis similar to deadly 90s famine - BBC News Jerry Baumchen

Hi Sky, Re: You tell the gullible that it will trickle down. I always find it amazing how short our memories are. Anyone remember Reagan's TrickleDown Economy? It's a farce; was then & is now. Yet the fools continue to believe it. Jerry Baumchen PS) David Stockman got sent to the 'outhouse' for telling Reagan it was not working; remember that?

Hi Ken, The removal of funds is not automatic; it must be exercised. It is a choice to be made by the feds. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Joe, As I have said for many years, the sex you get from marriage is the most expensive there is. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Bill, Re: she "violated the rules of professional conduct for attorneys." By now, everyone probably knows my son is an attorney. When we get together we often talk about how attorneys get themselves into trouble; always some fun discussions. Disclaimer: I am a Registered Professional Engineer and about once a year I get a newsletter from California ( where I am registered ) and almost every issue has some info about what some engineers have done to lose their license(s) or have their license(s) suspended. Hi heels, Looks like Greenberg was a friend in name only: Key figure in Matt Gaetz probe likely cooperating with federal prosecutors - POLITICO Jerry Baumchen PS) It is always amazing to see what potential years in prison make a person do.

Hi Bill, Maybe this is the 'normal' he is referring to: Former NFL player Phillip Adams kills 5 people, then himself in South Carolina: Report - oregonlive.com Jerry Baumchen

Hi air, Re: The coroner initially disagreed. No different than this: Earlier in the thread I recanted my statement that Floyd absolutely died of an OD. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Keith, Back in the 70's, during the gasoline shortage, the feds said that the states had to lower the speed limit to 55 MPH on federal highways. Some states balked; Montana & Nevada primarily. So, the feds said we'll just keep your federal highway money. Montana lowered their speed limit at exactly midnight of the very last day. Funny how money talks, Jerry Baumchen

Hi folks, Re: promoting the successful policies of the Trump Administration May be somewhat difficult to find any. Mike Pence lines up allies, a precursor to a possible run for president in 2024 - oregonlive.com Going to be fun to watch this one play out. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Bill, And on par as to what Hi Bill, Right on par as to what Sidney Powell is now saying to defend herself. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Keith, If you had made it in the form of a question, I would be OK with it. However, you made it a statement; which you know nothing about.* Jerry Baumchen * Maybe he does not even drink coffee; I know I'm trying to cut back.

Hi Keith, That is uncalled for. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Joe, IMO it's also 'nice' to believe in Santa Claus & the Tooth Fairy. Jerry Baumchen

Hi air, Generally, this is the difference between first degree murder* vs manslaughter. The laws of each state differ & and I am not familiar with the laws of MN. Jerry Baumchen * Generally, first degree murder usually means premeditated; you planned to kill the victim.

Hi Bill, I have an orange in my frig. Maybe in Westerley would bring an apple we could compare. Let's see: They both fit in my hand. They both are about the same volume. They both can be eaten without cooking. They weigh about the same. I'm thinking we are on to something here. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Ken, A suggestion; tell your TI's that you will identify ( to your tandem students ) which have had the vax vs those who have refused. The potential loss of income might be the tipping point. Jerry Baumchen PS) I know which ones I would choose.

Hi folks, Re: The FBI learned of Bru’s presence largely through tips, according to the affidavit. And he thought they were his friends: Man arrested in Vancouver accused of storming U.S. Capitol and entering Senate Gallery on Jan. 6 - oregonlive.com Jerry Baumchen

Hi hang, In your link it says: Now, the Para Commander is a round chute with back panels lower on the stringers than the front to allow more maneuverability and forward gliding than just a round chute. The particular model was an eighteen-footer Somehow, I doubt that this guy was a jumper. Reminds me of some of the people I've met over the years in bars and their stories. Jerry Baumchen PS) The ParaCommander has a skirt that is built higher up in the front than on the rear. I have never known of an 18 ft P/C, much less the 15 ft model he mentions elsewhere.

Hi Joe, Re: we do not bring a representative cross section of the country into our military. While it has been nearly 60 yrs since I got out, I have to 'somewhat' disagree when one considers the commissioned officer staff also. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Keith, Re: At some point, Jerry had an "awakening" and went from rep to dem Just for the record, I want from Rep to independent. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Wendy, While I think I understand your concern, most of us pay to renew our Driver's License & our passport. Of course, I also carry my Voter's Registration card & I did not pay anything for that. One would hope that any 'costs' are within reason. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Keith, This is what gets me. 'Some' people complain that a vax record/document is just another way to watch us.* Like you, I carried all of those documents while in the military; and never thought anything of it. Today, I have my Driver's License with me all of the time; and some other documents, as well. And, when I travel, my passport goes with me. Too much paranoia me thinks. Jerry Baumchen * if anyone does not want to be 'watched,' they should simply discard their cell phone. Oops, that's blasphemy is it not? ETA: I voted Good Idea.
