I meant the quadrupling of committed crimes and was not clear. And if you want to trust that Trump doesn't believe he can declare martial law go for it.
-
Even if the numbers did make sense they are a distraction from masked ICE agents in battle gear raiding Italian restaurants during dinner hour on the off chance the dishwasher might be undocumented and then calling in the Army because local citizens are pissed about it. It’s all manufactured bullshit to excuse eventual martial law and it’s obvious. The entire mess could hardly be more ridiculous.

Will you pick my cantaloupes?
-
Quadrupled from what? Enough to justify using our armed forces to quell citizen discontent?

Read it and listen to it and weep. They're just itching to kill a US citizen. https://www.rawstory.com/tom-homan-protests/

Seems likely. Who knows, maybe something galvanizing like the Kent State shootings will happen. It's a sad thought but that might be what it takes to wake up some republican politicians.

They won’t go. Old people never know when it’s time to quit. Like when they were shutting down DZ.com, for example.

It’s all about the money, everywhere, all of the time.

Like everyone else the Olympics are thinking TACO before 2028. But wouldn't that be wonderful if both events simply cancelled. Sure the ban ostensibly doesn't include athletes and certain visa holders etc. but who sane could trust Ice Barbie not to sick her hounds on a few friends and family types. I wouldn't risk it. Iran has already qualified for the 2026 World Cup. Hopefully they'll change the team name to The Bombs.

Maybe when we see the top Dem's doing something a bit more impactful than observing how deplorable it is that our democracy is being ransacked and get at least a simple tell from the Supreme Court that they realize how horribly bad they fucked up interest will increase.

Was that $100K an uninsured loss? I confess that a lot of the damage from natural disasters that we all pay for seems somewhat self inflicted. My boat is insured and if it sinks I will receive the insured amount minus deductibles. To stay insured I need to be outside of described hurricane/cyclone areas between certain dates. If I don't want that limitation I can find another insurer, pay a huge risk premium, or self insure. There isn't any government slush fund to bail me out which seems reasonable to me.

Excellent piece.

That's a data point, useful in the current situation. Maybe you have not owned businesses but often you do need to take a long view; in fact many corporations that currently make no money trade on the stock market. What you never want is a schizophrenic, ignoramus of a president whipsawing the markets and suppliers you rely on forcing you into accepting losses that outside interests think you should ignore.

Don't burn your fajitas celebrating, they had a ready made appeal filed nearly instantaneously and failing there they still have their lapdogs at the Supreme Court.

Decades? I dunno, the last mob with reptilian brains ruled for 160 million years.

I can help. The thinking inside the mainstream media is that talking about problems only makes them worse.
-
It’s also where policy starts. Are you thinking a small apartment, a room off a common area, or a dorm bed? What is basic food? Three meals prepared in a cafeteria or food vouchers. I’m not picking at you. I truly want to know what is being considered when I hear about a basic income being a solution.
-
I need to better understand what level of living this "Basic Income" provides before I can answer.
-
Absolutely not, especially the .1T to upgrade his new flying whorehouse to Presidential standards.
-
And people pass sand bags to stop the rising waters, too, but I don't think it's comparable to what will motivate someone to work when pay is a given. Now might they help out organizing queues if they weren't obligated to stay for their daily pay? I don't doubt that at all.

Reported that Trump posted on Truth Social: "What Vladimir Putin doesn’t realize is that if it weren’t for me, lots of really bad things would have already happened to Russia, and I mean REALLY BAD," Trump wrote. "He’s playing with fire!" A plain admission that he's been helping our greatest enemy all along.
-
I'm going to need a bit of reprogramming before I'll be willing to believe that people who are given all they need to survive will work out of the goodness of their hearts or to benefit the greater good.
-
And who can even guess how many under the table spiffs Trump will get for himself or his princeling buddies.

One possibility is finding away to negate any tax advantage, if there is a visible deduction on their US returns. Maybe simply have a tax schedule that heavily estimates what the cost would be in the US and add the difference to their returns as gross income to be taxed. I think using our own tax system to incentivize companies selling into the US market might be better than clumsy tariffs.

Poor tongue in cheek, I guess.
