I suppose if they mine the Straits of Hormuz the price of oil might go up, might there be a few beneficiaries in that space? I don't think Russia uses the Straits. We do to ship gas to India, I think, but I will never believe this was anything more than dick swinging by President Hurt Feelings.

Well there is that whole preponderance of the evidence thing we use for everything else. Sure, for the feels, but beliefs can be a predictor of behaviors. If I were to tell you that someone set off an explosive vest on a bus or someone else shot a doctor in a parking basement you wouldn't take long in correctly guessing their religions or certain features of the victims beliefs. Good on you, but totally beside the point, too, especially knowing that most people haven't the slightest clue how the nature of existence lies in complete conflict with the stories they've been told and come to believe as, well, the Gospel.

I don't think most folks learn to be Trans or Black nor do they have later options. They also don't have a text that offers guidance and penalties for certain behaviors.

Because his silly parade didn't show him to be the tough guy he's not, he is now demanding the evacuation of Tehran, flying a wing of re-fuelers to the middle east, and admitting it was us and our technology that gave Israel the advantage in battle just after denying the same like yesterday. The problem is that it's what Lee and other R's truly believe. They say it out loud as if it's an immutable truth. It's time to cease calling it the Republican Party. Instead they should be known as the Autocracy Party. The media needs to adopt the change to get it snowballing.

My point is that we need to refrain from self back patting and straw grasping over these demonstrations. It's a great start, sure, but comparing the crowds to Trumps parade crowd is as fruitless as when we compared his inauguration crowd to Obama's. He's back. We need way more than a small percentage of non-Trump voters showing up one day out of 365 to get any message to Republicans.

Governor Pritzker openly encouraged protest and Chicago, Illinois is blue and has a fond history of protest to support No Kings. Do you think there was a single No Kings assembly that would give Trump second thoughts? He doesn't even have first thoughts.
