No it wasn't. It was a quote from a cop who was explaining to me just how far I could probably take it and still not be charged. He was schooling me on shot selection when I told him I picked up the Beretta Tactical for home defense. He thought it best to make the first two or three buckshot and the last two rifled slugs in case the motherfuckers were escaping in their car.

My understanding, which as usual is irrelevant to the topic at hand, is that it was a private community with private roads. I live on such a thing; the county road ends and the paved private road begins. That's where the private road, no trespassing and stay the fuck out signs, are conspicuously posted. Of course all asshole realtors, Jehovah's Witnesses and now civil rights protestors I guess, remain privileged to ignore such requests.

Nope. You leave it on the floor beside the bed and just a bit under. The round is in the receiver and ready. Then you simply need to press the receiver release to make that very distinctive sound, that, in a quiet house is like no other, pick it up and point it at the bedroom door. You are now ready to spray 5 loads of nine .32 caliber Buckshot balls at whomever comes through the door and around the corner. And you will have a chance of success even if you spent the night scarfing Fajitas and getting hammered on beers over at Bigun's place.

That's a foolish thing to say and you must know it. Unless you are a complete moron you do not give up cover if you expect to be in a gunfight. The idiot trespassers were only trespassing. Going outside to brandish stupid, useless weapons was plain dumb if the homeowners were, as was claimed, afraid. It's utter nonsense. They were not afraid. They reeked of being in white privilege control. Furthermore the overall context of this nationwide rebellion was basically peaceful anger. No torches, no pitch forks, no one being dragged from their beds for execution. Job one in threat negotiation is to avoid escalation. Next you sell the idea of peace. Unless, that is, you crave the idea of confrontation.

Home defense, not yard defense. I might also have pointed out that it's a jackass move to defend your home with a pistol or an AR-15. In bed, in the middle of the night it's the sound of the receiver on an automatic shotgun slamming a round home that set's the tone. And, even better, no imagined marksmanship necessary. Like speakers corner, theres no accuracy required to play.

“A U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) spokeswoman said on Friday agents had been deployed to Portland to support a newly launched U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) unit, tasked with enforcing last month’s executive order from Republican President Donald Trump to protect federal monuments and buildings.” Immigration and Customs Enforcement and DHS’s Federal Protective Service are also reportedly involved. An unnamed “senior DHS official” defended the arrests, which have been described as renditions since videos have shown the security forces do not announce a reason for detainment, do not identify themselves, and do not read Miranda rights." I do believe a lot of folks, on hearing they were going to a rendition, might imagine they were going to hear happy children singing songs. Certainly they would not imagine that, without their rights being explained, they were about to be tossed into a Black Maria, with no opportunity to call their lawyer and then spirited away into the night to a unknown location where there were definitely no happy children singing songs. Nonetheless, that is apparently where we are in America today. Thanks, patriots.

Bullshit, and mixed up bullshit at that. Wendy observed that the protesters shouldn't have been there and I, and most others here, definitely agree. But to your point, if you were afraid and demonstrating a deterrent to an attack wouldn't it be smarter to be behind a wall with a shotgun out the window rather than standing on nicely mown grass in front of who knows how many enemies? So no, they weren't afraid. They were being AR-15 loving, gun nut assholes displaying rich, white privilege. They were escalating a situation and vastly increasing the chances that someone would get shot for what at that point was trespassing. Seriously, WTF is it with the idea that defending your home should also include chasing the motherfuckers down the driveway and firing rifled slugs through their rear window? You really need to get your head straight before you pull a gun on your UPS driver and drop him because your 75 year old nervous system can no longer tell how hard you are pulling on the trigger.

So the way it's taught is never point a gun in the direction of someone you do not intend to shoot. To my eye he's set-up nicely to put one through her tits. If you prefer to think letting one loose just behind her without looking is better somehow, that's fine. Either way he just failed Good Guy with a Gun 101.

Ah, it's not so bad. Just put on your beats headset and close your eyes and you won't know we're there.
-
Thank you. That really helped. And now, let's get back to fighting for his right to vote.
-
Why? What's it take to get you Canadians excited? Puppy kicking? Drunk driving in school zones? Cancelling winter? I'm to where I think it's perfectly appropriate to wish ill on ignorant assholes in positions of power that are selfishly putting others at risk.
-
It's not kicking him when he's down, it's simply observing it wasn't an injustice anymore than if he'd lost his money because he believed keeping it in his armpits was smart.
-
Do you reckon he was praying he wouldn't get it before he got it or was he maybe distracted by praying for winning lottery numbers?
-
So Green New Deal equals Magical thinking. Agreed, just to get that out of the way. So were you around when President Kennedy proposed putting a man on the moon? Did you call bullshit based on existing technology?
-
Yes you do, just as I do. I have black and red presents in my stocking for calling Ron d---------. But he is. And others here have subsequently noted the same in more acceptable ways. Whatever. Oh, this old world Keeps spinning round It's a wonder tall trees Ain't layin' down There comes a time

Um, you might have attacked an honest heathen.

I know you're mad at me for filling in the pond and banning 270's and greater but I'll always have a slot for someone with such impeccable credentials.
-
Are you salivating? Will you need permission to kill "unreasonable liberals" like you did those unreasonable communists? Don't worry gramps, when you start waving your pistol at us we'll all just line up and march to the pits.

There IS a problem with global warming... it stopped in 1998

I seem to recall at one of his lectures he displayed the Ouroborus. Fitting. -
In fairness to Phil, Fox News is more than a bit excessive. What they spew spreads wide and far beyond only those who watch the show. One day early, two weeks I think, into the pandemic I was on lockdown at anchor in Sint Maarten. One morning on the VHF net we used for daily info some dipshit announced that President Trump discovered that Hydroxychloroquine was the cure and it would all be over soon. Turns out he heard it on SSB Radio from somebody somewhere that heard it on Fox News. Fox is a pox.
