  1. By looking at the results. If Christians vote Republican then it is arguable that they are voting against Democracy and in favor of short term economic gain. If you believe the second coming is over due how could you believe or vote otherwise? Same as if women don't overwhelmingly vote democrat then it's arguable that they don't care about agency or equality. Same as if young voters don't vote it's arguable that they don't give a shit about the things not on their smart phones. It will never be more obvious, in our lifetimes, then now. Tomorrow we'll learn if faith and self interest is more important than a functional democracy. Good luck to all.
  2. Good plan. I was being too parochial as usual. I'm thinking the op's proposition may have struck a chord. Not to proselytize but I'm still thinking they were spot on.
  3. As the original disconnected thinker, I made clear that I was giving the evil eye to all of the monotheistic religious. Locally, our monotheistic religious tend to be Christians and if you think Mike Pence or some of the newly let loose to speak their truths Pastors are any indication the now freely espoused end game is Christianity first and mans poorly contrived system of government second.
  4. Too late. You already are, just on the receiving end.
  5. Be brave. Say fuck it, go for broke, and don't think for a minute that the world is out of shitty lawyers for hire.
  6. Any Democrat who loses should scream fraud, stolen election, and refuse the concede. I am serious. Turn it into a complete shit show. Throw it to the courts. Refuse to leave. Force Republicans to argue that our elections are fair. Hit them hard with what they don't expect: a concerted effort at every level from dog catcher to US Senator. Now that would be worth watching.
  7. Sure, in the way that most folks believe in garbage service: a nicety not a necessity.
  8. Backwards is my speciality. I do hope my predictions are also ass backwards. If so I'll concede defeat with pleasure. In the meantime I'll continue prepping the Peoples Republic of Joe for splash next week.
  9. But the Catholics are truly organized like the communists, that’s reality. Also, it might be a rude awakening when the hoped for American theocracy turns out to be an anti religion autocracy. Unexpected consequences and all.
  10. If there were a scintilla of accountability in the ranks, but because of the unions there is not, I’d say promote from within and no outside applicants. Let the top job be awarded by the county commissioners or equivalent. Thanks to Covid we never see them except for sitting car to car shooting the shit. And good luck getting a property loss response.
  11. I think it’s just wonderful that Catholics don’t see that their church is organized just like the Chinese communist party.
  12. How is that not a blatant troll?
  13. To be more exact, I’m thinking of voters like him; voters who are drawn to fact free information, rumors based on what if’s or they did it first, or any thin conspiracy like moths to the light. They buy it on the first offer and parade it publicly as if it was some hard won truth. And, astonishingly, they are about to be the winning team.
  14. For me the solution was atheism and the consequent freedom to choose based upon provable facts. Unfortunately for democracy mine is the minority view in America. I suspect the majority are about to receive the government they believe they want. Ironically the result will make me a little more free: free to not care as much or at all. As a white male I’ll be in the protected class. I’ll lose no agency, equality or opportunity. As for all of the groups that will be gifted even more eroded circumstances, well they must have had damn good reasons for not voting or voting as they chose.
  15. Except as a way to erode democracy. The monotheistic religious pine for their King; forms of government designed by people are simple vehicles not the end game. And that’s why we are already screwed.
  16. You also have a vote: the most distressing bit in my opinion.
  17. Baloney. You are locked into a belief system. Enjoy the winter.
  18. Well, you're right sadly. Sadder is that you are so imbued in your beliefs; you think you have it wired. But you are just a guy who was a good target in a likely locality. Truly you are just a mobik, an expendable thing to be consumed when the time comes. Pat yourself on the back while you can but your time is coming.
  19. Counterpointing airdvr is like choosing which big toe should be scraped free of toe jam first: it's pointless. He pretends to have an affinity for other viewpoints but then reverts to conspiracy theory nonsense at the first opportunity. But don't forget that the discontinuities, failures to grasp the truth of our circumstance, and the consequent insight into the mind of a right wing Ohio real estate agent adds scope and flavor to our discourse. A real win, win.
  20. So I googled it and, in addition to some interesting pop-up's, fucknancy.com is available. Anybody looking for a recession proof gig should think about it.
  21. They grow out of cow patties for free. Who needs a law?
  22. Might I recommend the Glenfarclas 25? Best value in fine aged scotch there is, in my opinion.
  23. Help me out here, but didn't we already prove that? Like back in the 70's?
  24. And yet they'll all just soldier on believing the falsehoods and that we're all blind.
  25. They're there, seems to me. I'll continue hoping I'm wrong for a few more day's but when I'm not it will officially be the era of no longer giving a shit.
