Bill, please, stop with this crap that the no gun folks can eviscerate at will. I am certain we agree that responsibly kept firearms in the homes of trained users is acceptable. We also agree that home defense weapons are a reasonable reaction to the real world around us. Trying to get past that is like trying to explain the difference between statistics and art. Give them their day.

How did they know it was loud enough? What if whom they were speaking to was hard of hearing? For that matter, what constitutes a crowd in whatever country you are in or came from? The parsing here gets ridiculous sometimes.

It must be measured to avoid escalation beyond what the Ukrainians, or NATO, can endure. We're still boiling frogs. Let's give them the tools to take back the Crimea and toss a few fuck you's onto the nearby motherland and see how that goes first. Don't forget, Russia is an impoverished and fully ignorant of world affairs third world country outside of Moscow and St. Petersburg. No hell NATO can visit there will bother Putin one iota.

If naught else, the war in Ukraine is a stark reminder of how Russians fight war. Human life, their own soldiers or their opponents civilians, matters not if they think killing either confers an advantage. If there was no other reason, that is reason enough to force them to stop their unwarranted aggression. I say let's give the Ukrainians NATO's longer range missiles, such as our ATACMS, and the freedom to use them as they see fit.

I'm not sure it makes sense to conflate Walmart shootings with personal defense shootings or to lump all personal defense shootings together. I personally am opposed to open and concealed carry , pistol or long gun, as a matter of constitutional right. I do think that having a dedicated personal defense shotgun in a home of adults is a good plan for individuals skilled in the weapons use. I also think that regulation of firearms is good policy and the confiscation and destruction of war looking weapons would be acceptable but that would not include shotguns and bolt action rifles with 3-5 shot magazines. So I would segregate all instances where someone with a dedicated home defense or other shotgun or a bolt action hunting rifle was successful in a home invasion situation from all other instances.

Maybe a bus ticket to Chicago would be more successful. It's the same reason you can't get a decent hoagy at Jersey Mike's: no one really wants the job. Ironically, all of the truly qualified candidates are being put to death, or close, when maybe they should be offered jobs.

I don't think the Klingons, Romulans, Borg, or even the Vulcans, were woke. For that matter, I'm not sure it can be claimed that Velociraptors or Yellow Jackets can be defined as woke. SC Moderators and we Liberal silly kids are sort of woke, I guess, so we have that.

Don't be so pedestrian. He paid X, if it loses value to a fraction of X he has a write down. If the thing that is left has political or some other monetary value to Musk it might be a win.
