  1. So that means that any ice left now is impermanent? Makes sense, unless permanent means a maximum amount of time instead of, well, permanent.
  2. Sure, but just knowing that all of the war hawks who weren't satisfied containing Saddam with what was a working no fly zone, after arming him to fight Iran, were made happy by our reckless invasion is reward enough. Better yet, when we are forced to lay down our guns and ideals because we only know how to "fight them over there", not in Topeka, we'll all be dead. So, not a problem.
  3. I smoked my last bowl over 45 years ago. I think it took maybe a week before I realized how impossibly boring hard stoners can be. It's not complete and utter bullshit, it's complete and utter brain fog.
  4. Never mind. I stopped watching when the video went weirdo. I'l go stand in the corner with Brent.
  5. What are you seeing that I do not? I don't see impact damage to the tips or a bent blade.
  6. Probably no RC people are receiving direct subsidies from the government. But is a direct connection necessary? Maybe the money is being spent in one place and affecting RC flyers somewhere else. Possible, I suppose.
  7. I told Theresa about this as soon as you broke the story. Since that very moment she's been sewing shut my pockets. When will it all ever stop?
  8. A difference without a distinction, in my opinion. We need to quit subsidizing peoples toy airplanes to the tune of billions. So, is Kallend getting the money in cash or Chinese airplanes? Is he trading US math to the Chinese on the side? The whole thing seems a bit smarmy, I think.
  9. But it's understandable, right? After all, their parents were taught that hiding under a school desk was useful during a nuclear attack. To your larger point, the problem is the illusion that these things are manageable as a matter of societal policy that promotes more personal protection over mitigating the risk. We do not need bullet proof school back packs or school bus windows, we need bullet proof policies that promote an ethos that guns are the problem. We do not need to vilify guns; we need to not glorify guns. Perhaps, following the lead of cigarettes advertising, the box should have pictures of shooting victims not smiling hunters. True or not, we've allowed ourselves to be trained that cars aren't the problem, speeding in school zones is the problem. As far as I know there is no mention of either in the Constitution but we've worked that out reasonably. We can do the same with guns if the never give an inch crowd could just see giving an inch before it's their kid.
  10. There is no reason to get pissed off, generally, the sane understand the problem: the glorification of guns in America. Guy's like Brent with his silly non-points, like posting a picture of AR-15's and Ammo and observing that they don't auto load and kill kids, are the problem. The Second Amendment isn't the problem, either. Again, it's where we are at culturally. The First Amendment is not perfectly worded either but no one is claiming that screaming fire in a theater is protected speech. No. Our American gun problem is caused by our media, mostly, which preys on some people's selfishness and ignorance. If you believe the world is inherently dangerous then you likely think being armed is critical to survival. If you think the world is mostly a decent place to live if you just avoid some dangerous spots then you probably think it's dumb to carry a gun. In either case, you ought to scrutinize why you think the world is as you believe it is when so many others see it differently. And then honestly test your view.
  11. What goes around comes around?
  12. Makes sense. Had he betrayed his nation this might never have happened.
  13. Certainly the sympathy you feel towards washing machines is completely understandable. I feel the same way about 8 Ball Tables. Surely not taxing isn't directly equatable to spending. But not taxing one thing and taxing another, within a complex taxing system, to get the spending money for another thing does sort of makes thing cloudy.
  14. You're sorta OK, I guess, but we don't help our case by threatening death, especially by firearms, in such reactionary company. While I'm there, the same goes with Trump grade name calling.
  15. It's called a denial of intelligent conversation attack.
  16. Per procedure, you’ve veered off course again, making hash of a point to deflect away from the hard truth. Think paying it forward, looking for a return later. Some people plant seeds, some rob fruit.
  17. You’re not the problem—individually. But people exactly like you are definitely the problem. Just like ESG or anything else that can make a positive difference, someone needs to start the evolution. But you can’t because you could never risk losing something in pursuit of something important fearing that others didn’t follow your lead. In your way of thinking that would be the ultimate bad outcome: a loss with only an ethical gain to show for your efforts.
  18. As ever, you are projecting. Your ethos is getting yours whilst the getting is good. The idea that someone might act in a manner that is in some degree adverse to their situation is anathema to your world view. Tobacco stocks are winners historically but I wouldn’t own a share, would you? Do you or have you? Same with your gun addiction. There could never be too many school shootings or any other societal offense to where you’d give an inch. And it’s not because of a strongly held constitutional principle, no matter your claims to the contrary. It’s because you like your guns and what is good for you is what is most important. It’s how you roll. Others roll differently but for you it’s just another unintelligible language you never took time to understand.
  19. But you aren’t saying anything. You could easily have said cutting food stamps is a bad idea. Why in your view is a UBI a bad idea? What would you do otherwise? Are the current suite of offerings too little or too much?
  20. What you believe is propaganda. The age was attributed to Russian Defense Minister Shoigu. If anything he’s low balling to hide the fact that they are grabbing any pot bellied grandpa who can’t run fast enough.
  21. Of course you do, it's called confirmation bias. Where's Greta? Oh, who knows, somewhere getting carried away.
  22. de·moc·ra·cy /dəˈmäkrəsē/ noun a system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives. Close enough for anyone running on a Guinea Pigs wheel. Similarly, you might argue that an assault rifle isn't a rifle or that hydrocarbons aren't carbons. Wait, scratch the last one.
  23. What I enjoyed was that of the 20 examples a full 50% were Texans: Fireworks, Condoms, even a Tattoo, gotta the Lone Star State.
  24. Pakistan has has offered to give 44 T-80UD tanks to Ukraine in exchange for western financial support. Okay, they're assholes. With that out of the way, I say start negotiations at USD $5M per with a willingness to support loan guarantees. The enemy of my enemy and all of that, seems to me. These are perfect for Ukraine: "modern" Russian hardware with diesel engines they already know how operate and maintain. Do the deal, I say.
  25. And your second response, whilst she was playing rope-a-dope with you, was "Of course". A near preternatural ability to step on ones own wee-wee isn't actually a virtue, you know . At least you caught yourself this time.
