  1. My Neptune Update: Roger from Alti-2 called me this morning. They were able to simulate the error I had last weekend. It was a problem with the algorithm that handles switching the unit from ground mode to aircraft mode. From what Roger told me, v1.7 (and later) code does not share this issue. I will have a Neptune (with clear-blue case, thanks, Rog!) waiting for me on Friday with v1.8 code which will also fix a backlight issue and (if it's ready in time) should also have the MPH reading instead of Ft/s in the logbook. I really have to commend Roger and his team. For a 4-person company, they have really been bending over backwards to meet our needs in a positive manner and productively respond to criticism/requests. The only other suggestion that I forgot to mention to him would be this: When updating the webpage with new code revisions for download, it would be nice if they would also include a change-list which would show what was corrected from one revision to the next. I can't wait to play with my Neptune this weekend.
  2. Or even normal windblast. That would have to be one helluva powerful motor with a rather heavy weight on the end to get your attention in freefall. And with that would come a rather large size. In short, I don't think you're going to see one that vibrates any time soon. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
  3. I've had sushi in a coastal state and in a landlocked state. There are two restaurants here I really trust for the good stuff. One has salmon and tuna that will simply melt in your mouth. And on that note, I now know where I'm having lunch tomorrow. Yummmy. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
  4. You have to have your own clothes but you get a daily stipend you can spend on Thunderbird or Mad Dog 20/20. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
  5. Hey, when I see "perky" I think "mmm...perky", as in the fairer sex. No harm meant, Perkins.
  6. For $15 an hour...in New York? Umm...nope. I get $50K+ here in Oklahoma for doing the same thing. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
  7. BK-lounge? Nah, I was going to supersize her saki while we munched sushi. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
  8. Yup, definitely I-40. C'mon, Lisa. I'll buy ya' dinner. And if you're really good, I'll even supersize it for ya'! Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Heh. Here's the link to the hoax info: http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/jdbgmgr.exe.file.hoax.html Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Pre-Amelio had its moments as well... Job's deal with the devil (Gates), their lack of licensing their IP to 3rd party vendors, how Woz was pretty much run under the tires of the corporate machine at the end... Don't get me wrong, I think Apple currently makes some fantastic (of not insanely pricey) products. I couldn't live without my iPod.

That's a hoax. Don't delete that file. It's the Windows Java debugger. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

  14. I'd still make sure his doc okays it. I took a flight back home from a business trip a couple of years back with what I thought was only a little minor congestion. I had to be carried off of the airplane because of the amount of pain I was in. I was lucky I didn't do any serious damage. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
  15. That comes down to the canopy and your rigger. I have a version 2.0 Tempo 210 in my Mirage (M4 size) which is supposed to hold a PD-160R. It looks perfect. It feels like a brick, but it'll work when I need it to. Myaney: You're best be would be to contact RWS and get their opinion on it or take it to a knowledgable rigger. As for the reserve canopies, I have rides on both a Raven and a PD. I'll take a PD any day. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
  16. The display on my Neptune blew me away when I saw it in freefall. Huge and easy to read. We'll see how the rest of it comes together when I get mine back with v1.8 code in it in a couple of days. For analogs, the Altimaster 2 is hard to beat. It's larger and would be better suited for mounting on a chest strap, but it has a large easy to read face. Also, the FT-50 is very nice as well. Absolutely Kick Ass, Brittany!!!
  19. I use Croakies to keep them on my noggin. I really don't want to take the chance of having a $150+ pair of sunglasses come out from underneath my Mindwarp. I'll even jump in them without a helmet. They stay in place really well when snugged down, but I still have a velcro loop on the top of my jumpsuit that I run through the loop on the Croakies...just in case. After last weeks virus hijinx, we ran a script that automatically ran the RPC patch on every NT, 2K, & XP machine connected to any of our domains during the middle of the night and then rebooted them. For the ones not on the domains, we mapped in and just turned off DCOM in the registry. Oh, and we finally got all un-used ports blocked. 21. My Oakley Minute's broke last weekend after almost two years of hard abuse. I would have really liked to replace them with a pair of Gatorz but they just don't fit my face right. Looks like I'll be hitting the store and getting another pair of Oakley's tomorrow. The Minute's are great for keeping the wind out whether I'm doing RW or FF and I'll probably check out the Juliet's as well. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
  22. Happy b-day, Mary! Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
  23. Agreed. I just got finished reading it myself and I am much happier with the operational information.
  24. Sometimes you can clear a lineover by going into deep brakes on a canopy. If you're lucky, the brake line will slide off of the top of the canopy. My personal rule in case of a lineover is to try to clear it once. If the canopy is wildly unstable then I will chop. If it is flying somewhat stable (by adding opposite toggle, etc...) and I have the altitude and a near place to land, I will try to cut the brake line with my hook knife and land with rear risers. 25. That's exactly what you want to do. Besides, if you're going to have the possibility of a two-out situation there's nothing better to have than a round to go with that square. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
