the first day I jumped the 210, there was no wind. I think my landings would've been better if there'd been wind. seven jumps this last weekend, and only one standup. sigh.

you wouldn't expect to go through breakpads that fast. there's definitely something wrong with the design. my car has 80,000 miles on it, and I've had to do the breaks twice.

sounds like she's having to replace the rotors and all.

I'm sorry, but if its hot outside and I'm wearing board shorts and a tank top, that doesn't give anyone the right to say anything rude, whether I'm wearing a bra or not. I think the peek-a-boo nipples is going too far, though.

I'd say the bonehead helmets offer pretty good protection. My AFF instructor had a collision with the tail of a plane while wearing his bonehead camera helmet, and walked away from it. From what he told me, pretty big dent in the plane, and a crack in the helmet.

hoping you mean FDR or REAGAN... FDR is Roosevelt. I say keep FDR, because he did so much work with march of dimes. its appropriate.

I LOVE my bonehead Guner. very quiet, two audible pockets, and overall a good quality helmet.

dude, we jump out of planes! we're not "all there in the head" either! LOL.

there are several lawyers ON these boards, and one of them answered her question. Women are always asking medical questions in the womens' forum, and we've got a couple of doctors and a midwife or two who usually answer. There is a wealth of information available on these boards. Skydiving is not the sum of all we are, and people here have diverse talents and education. There's no harm in asking, and if she hadn't gotten a satisfactory answer, I'm sure she'd have gone elsewhere.

nothing wrong with asking friends for guidance/information. As you can see, reliable information was provided. I think she picked a pretty good place to start asking.

lol... KELLY! what about me?! You've already got Claus! Leave a few for the rest of us! I'm in california, in easy driving distance from Perris, Elsinore and San Diego.

awww. thanks! as for what took me so long, I honestly didn't have any pictures of myself, other than the goth one and the kenpo one. I went to film school, so at family gatherings and all that, someone's always going "give the camera to Kris! she takes good pictures!" so, as a result, I have many pictures of family and friends, but am actually in almost none! so, yesterday, I set a camera on my dresser, set the autotimer, sat down on my bed, and took a picture because I wanted an avatar.

I haven't done a hop n pop yet.

spandex. the hackey was just shoved about halfway inside it, so I couldn't get a real good grip. Pretty sure it happened in the plane, cause it wasn't that way when I did my gear check.
-
ok.... one kenpo uniform pic by request. this is the only one I've got, and its from a year or so ago. The guy in the pic with me is one of my instructors.

I did a tandem first, and would HIGHLY recommend it. Freefall is such an alien environment that its sensory overload at first. I don't think I'd have passed my AFF 1 if I hadn't done a tandem and at least been prepared for the way freefall felt.

took the pic a few mins ago, and cropped it. what do ya think? keep or find another pic?

but you're going to end up with no schools in areas where people can't afford to pay for them. how do you propose to solve that issue?

couldn't find any info on Colshicin, but is this the stuff you mean? Colchicine (KOL-chi-seen) is used to prevent or treat attacks of gout (also called gouty arthritis). People with gout have too much uric acid in their blood and joints. An attack of gout occurs when uric acid causes inflammation (pain, redness, swelling, and heat) in a joint. Colchicine does not cure gout or take the place of other medicines that lower the amount of uric acid in the body. It prevents or relieves gout attacks by reducing inflammation. Colchicine is not an ordinary pain reliever and will not relieve most kinds of pain. Colchicine may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor. Colchicine may be used in 2 ways. Most people take small amounts of it regularly for a long time (months or even years) to prevent severe attacks or other problems caused by inflammation. Other people take large amounts of colchicine during a short period of time (several hours) only when the medicine is needed to relieve an attack that is occurring. The chance of serious side effects is much lower with the first (preventive) kind of treatment. Because some of colchicine's side effects can be very serious, you should discuss with your doctor the good that this medicine can do as well as the risks of using it. Make sure you understand exactly how you are to use it, and follow the instructions carefully, to lessen the chance of unwanted effects.

you've had a couple of instructors post to this thread... My personal observations: I've seen some instructors at perris swoop the heck out of canopies loaded at 1.1:1 what they told me about swooping (not that I want to do it anytime soon, I was just asking out of curiosity) was to learn on a larger canopy, because you're less likely to die that way.

in many private schools teachers salaries are lower than in public schools. teachers are willing to take the pay cut because they get a better working environment.
