Not saying that is the case, or that it isn't the case, just that it makes the defendant look bad.

nobody on the board has said he was guilty! and we can't possibly hear his side, because he didn't bother to show up in court and explain his side. all I've seen anyone say was that, given the current information here on the board, there MAY have been a justifiable reason for a suit.

IF there was gross negligence happening, as alleged in the suit, IT WAS ABSOLUTELY THE RIGHT THING TO SUE. however, IF there was a main/reserve entanglement, suing was the wrong option. However, he was sued, and that's a fact. Not showing up in your own defense is foolish.

Also, is there any way this was a default judgement stemming from the defendant's failure to appear? I vote issues too, not parties. I'm registered democrat. I like the republican party's economics, but I don't like the social restrictions the party so often advocates. I dislike the democratic party's economics (I think most social programs ought to be paid for through private charity), but I do like the freedom of personal choice advocated by the party. From my perspective, individual freedom outweighs economics, so I registered democrat.

the best thing to do is to make sure you can be there for your kids as they recover from the incident. you can't do that in jail.
