  1. As long as they're doing either tandems or coach jumps, I guess they'd be okay. personally, I feel a little weird if even one weekend goes by when I haven't jumped. Two weeks is scary. Three weeks, I'm doing a coach jump, even though technically, I'm still current.
  2. nope. you're not stuck. DirecTV offers satellite internet. Check into it. They will bundle it with satellite TV. The sat internet is usually a bit more expensive than a cable modem, but sat tv is usually cheaper, so it may work to your advantage.
  3. your questions would be easier to answer if you gave more specifics. what are you trying to do with the site?
  4. I don't think intelligence is as important as diplomacy, when it comes to running a country.
  5. in about a month (when I have spare cash) I'm going to get some canopy coaching.
  6. its amazing how much they understand... my mom's friend had an african grey. we were over for thanksgiving, and the bird was flying about, landed on Mariana's shoulder while she was checking the turkey. the bird made this clucking sound and said "oooh, lookit that poor bird!"
  7. I did practice with them up high, but its hard to be comfortable on a brand new canopy after only four jumps on it. I'd have landed the spectre 210 I'd been previously jumping with rear risers, I think. I'd had a lot of practice time with that canopy, and felt comfortable with it. My instructors advised me that a 190 would be better for me at this point, and I have taken their advice.
  8. I've got some friends coming out to do tandems, and I'm just going to see if I can exit right before them.... backflip out of the skyvan and wave byebye while they're staring over the edge. hehehehe
  9. call the tunnel in orlando, or perris valley in california. make an appointment. buy a plane ticket.
  10. um... I'd jump with ya, but I'd never be able to match your fall rate! LOL. I'd have to learn how to freefly a lot better!
  11. OMG WHAT A CUTIE!!!!! She's got a good arch too.
  12. Personally, I think I'm going to head over to a good friend's place sometime soon, shoot pool, and drink a lot of booze. There's just something about doing something stupid after a breakup that makes you feel better.
  13. I'm not comfortable with it simply because I've never done it before. On the 210 I'd been jumping, I think I'd have been okay. my landings on the 190 have been 100 times better than on the larger canopies, and I was advised by my instructors that the 190 was the right canopy for me at this time. I'm going to be getting some canopy coaching very soon. For the time being, I'm wingloading the 190 at .8 and am comfortable with my canopy. I just haven't had a lot of chances to practice with rear risers.
  14. toggles were unstowed. I could fly straight and turn left, but the right toggle was stuck. I've practiced with rear risers, but since this is only my fifth or so jump on a 190 canopy (was jumping a 210 before) and my landings are pretty bad to begin with, I didn't feel comfortable with a rear riser landing.
  15. break-ups suck. that's about all there is to it.
  16. send a PM to Screwbag and ask him. He's done some wonderful helmet painting.
  17. well, this is from a martial arts perspective rather than a skydiving perspective, but it sounds like one leg is stronger than the other. you're using equal force to push down on the air, but since one is stronger, that leg pushes more, and you spin. I see something similar when my martial arts students are working on their kicks. Get on a leg weight machine at the gym and see how much you can lift with each leg individually to see if there is a difference. Then, make an effort to work the weaker leg.
  18. dunno bout Frog, but when I brought it down behind my head on my next jump, I had trouble seeing my alti too.
  19. I'll be at Elsinore on saturday.
  20. broke up with my boyfriend yesterday. therefore, I probably won't be getting any for a while.
  21. I asked... I'll bug them again.
