Just relax and wait for the course. Don't risk practicing without supervision, you might pratice incorrectly and then have to spend extra time unlearning the stuff you've praticed. If you want to read something, read this: http://www.uspa.org/SIM.aspx Go jump! Owned by Remi #?

How to prepare for a hot air ballon jump
labrys replied to artemis's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
As I've already said, taking your take-off and deployment altituges into consideration is necessary for any jump with an AAD and has nothing at all do do with being in a balloon vs any other aircraft. Owned by Remi #? -
I've only ever had one dream about skydiving. I was doing a static line jump from our Cessna. (I'd never done a static line jump at that point). I was standing outside the plane waiting to get on last and the damned thing took off. I was already hooked up so it towed me down the runway. At about 200 feet I panic and cut away. The next thing I know the DZO and one of the instructors are standing next to me taking off my gear and running away :-) I realized I was dead so I decided to take a walk around. There was a huge party / bonfire going on right down the road. I settled in, grabbed a beer and felt content. Then I woke up. Owned by Remi #?

How to prepare for a hot air ballon jump
labrys replied to artemis's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Fair enough, but that situation has nothing at all to do with it being a balloon jump and everything to do with your take off and opening altitudes, which apply to all jumps with an AAD, not just balloons. Owned by Remi #? -
About Security Equipment in Skydiving... Pease help me...
labrys replied to sdy's topic in Safety and Training
Okay... I'll try to provide a more constructive, serious answer to that question: I really wish that my dropzone would talk a lot less about abstention and a little more about birth control. They act as though condoms don't even exist. Owned by Remi #? -

1:4:0 Taught the FJC Saturday and Sunday so not much time to jump but.... the 4 I got were awesome. 1 Mr Potato Head with a friend for his 100th 1 First 4-way with a wet-ink A license grad 2 Completely humbling but yet "I might really be able to do this if I keep practicing" AFF course preparation jumps. But the best part was a jump I didn't get to do. I had an FJC student last Saturday that got weathered out. She came back and waited all day Sunday but the winds were too gusty to let her go. She came back today and was finally able to go. I talked to her after she amped down a bit (from a really near perfect level 1) and asked her what her favorite part of the jump was expecting the standard "when my chute opened, etc" answer. Her answer was so cool... She said that her favorite part was the fact that she felt that childlike joy of discovering something new for the first time in her adult life. I thought that was an inspiring answer. I'm rambling...... Sorry. Bye Owned by Remi #?

I sure hope that your "wink" means that you understand that you can only get water from a well that's dug where water exists and that food will only grow in soil that can support the growth of food. If not, I'm going to dinner somewhere else. Owned by Remi #?

Renumbering Jumps in Alti-track and Jump-Track?
labrys replied to TheCapt's topic in Gear and Rigging
Maybe you should send it in for a check then. If it isn't recording h-n-p jumps then something is wrong with it. Owned by Remi #? -
Okay then. If power and money are often the ulterior motives behind "religious wars" please explain what's "Not entirely correct" about money and power being the motivating factors behind war...in your opinion. What wasn't correct? You objected... and then you agreed. Which is it? Owned by Remi #?

Religion and power and sometimes money can be the same things. Do you believe that the Crusades were fought because the Christians really wanted to convert Muslims and save the holy lands or because the Christians wanted the resources (money) and power (control over trade routes) available in the Middle East? The higher powers in the church may have convinced some gullible religious soldiers to fight for them though. I think he did leave out access to food and water as a major factor in many past wars though. Owned by Remi #?

I guess that depends on how much attention you pay to your training, where you learn, and who teaches you. I was taught from the very beginning that tension knots were one of the most common malfunctions and what to do to help avoid creating them. Owned by Remi #?
