First SC thread. Go easy. Carbon Footprint question
timmyfitz replied to ntrprnr's topic in Speakers Corner
The sea level would not change if you are only referring to sea ice. If you include ice that originates on land then your experiment would fail, as in sea level would rise. -
VB, your post are funny. You should tell your "friend" to quit getting drunk and posting online.

You don't have that much. You're not that important to me. It's not about me, it's about your integrity and your ability to answer questions rather than run and dodge. What do you think people opine when they see anyone with strong political beliefs that run from questions? It is just the internet, Lucky. You are fooling yourself if you believe that all that you write matters in the scheme of things. This is an obscure website with very limited audience. This is not CNN. You are not changing anyone's opinion or the world. I guess you just need some outlet to vent your rage.(along with many others )

How do you teach Emergancy Procedures (Cutting Away)
timmyfitz replied to TheRanchPROshop's topic in Instructors
Your arrogance aside, I am not lucky to be alive. I learned my EP's, practiced them over and over and when the time came to use them, I did it as I was taught and practiced. Wrong again. I had a student a few years ago that was taught the two hand method. He was drilled on it repeatedly during the first jump course I taught. He never did a single practice EP wrong. On his first jump that same day, he had a line over and used a two handed method to pull his reserve first then his cutaway. And as I described above, it's POSSIBLE to have an out of sequence pull using the two hand method. There is nothing black and white here. Only in your mind. That is an excellent reply. I now see why everyone should listen to your advice. With such a well thought out response, how could anyone not heed your warnings. When logic and reason fail lets try insults. There have been reasons given just none that you find acceptable. If anyone disagrees with you it is unacceptable. -
I have no problem looking in mine at any time. There is no greater joy than being at peace with oneself. Could have fooled me. Many of your post are the most angry sounding post here. I guess you have a different definition of what is meant by "being at peace with oneself".

How do you teach Emergancy Procedures (Cutting Away)
timmyfitz replied to TheRanchPROshop's topic in Instructors
It is a fact that it is possible? That's funny. It is also a simple fact that if you use the one handed method it is possible to not have an out of sequence procedure. FACT! Get over yourself. -
Dodge is a truck. billvon is a duck. Redirect is a way, For a lawyer to say, Go fuck yourself all day. (Sorry, I just couldn't help myself on that one. BTW, that's the royal "yourself" and not you specifically Divot.) Wow . . . So a mod can say go fuck yourself in a royal way and it isn't a PA - good to know. In his defense, after he told you to "Go fuck yourself all day", he did say it was the "royal yourself and not you specifically". So if your PA has a qualifier, it's OK. The rules do not apply to all.

This seems like a problem you caused as far as the reserve handle floating. The reserve handle shouldn't be pulled from the Velcro or the pocket until you are sure the cutaway is a success. I was taught one hand per handle starting at jump 16. Before that I was on a S.O.S. system. I have never had a problem in 9 cutaways. -
Apparently Mexico is upset with Arizona.

Of course you are right. How stupid can people be to copy and paste a story about Palin showing up at a restaurant without a reservation (and getting pissed at her for not having a reservation) even though NO reservation were needed. Oh wait, that was you, Quade. Gotta hate those people that copy and paste. -
Not quite true. The oil and gas industry is not BP. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/37759828/ns/disaster_in_the_gulf/ But..... http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE64420A20100505

You mean like giving someone a banning for quoting what a mod posted himself? Or like Bill starting a post about one of the posters here? The rules only apply to some, not to those in power. (sound familiar)

Questions about AFF with no experience
timmyfitz replied to boomerang's topic in Safety and Training
AFF level one price includes ground school. If you fail level one, you will not be paying full price(which includes the ground school) to repeat the jump, just the cost of the jump (which may or may not be cheaper than a tandem). -
2200' foot lose under a slow speed mal (compared to a bag lock and such)....lucky you pulled high. Deploying at 5000 feet does not mean in the saddle by 5000 feet.

Pro's and Con's Ohio vs. California DZ's
timmyfitz replied to jump2live's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Are all of the planes back Flying? Did the FAA find any serious/safety violations with the DZ or the aircraft? If the answer is no then whatever point you are trying to make is moot. -
Examining rumor of Cypres failure - Cochstedt 2008 dummy test
timmyfitz replied to pchapman's topic in Gear and Rigging
Why presume his was safe? Um, because that's what he implied. Where did he imply that? I know plenty of "pastures" with houses all around them. -
Am I wrong? What should I do or have done?
timmyfitz replied to AdamUSN's topic in Safety and Training
not much winds at altitude? groundspeed of 40? which was it? can't be both I read it as two separate situations. "I do not think that there was much for winds at altitude so the separation should have been 5 or so seconds." "I have been spotting with groundspeed 40 miles an hour and when you look out the people are still below the plane" Just not worded well. -
Poor Tracking Skills in Europe ??
timmyfitz replied to kkeenan's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Did you really write that VB? You may want to reread some of your old obvious expert post. -
So what they are trying to say is that stupid people don't know they are stupid because they are stupid.
