    I missed this part on the first pass. Let's examine what might happen and why these folks oppose it. TJ's gets built in this neighborhood and slowly the area gets revitalized. It becomes the latest "hip inner-city neighborhood" and all the 30 somethings suddenly think it's a cool address. Since none of the black folks own a home the benefit would go to the white landlords. Rents would increase and the blacks couldn't afford to live there anymore because Section 8 housing would be gone. The activists don't want it because their political power base would be gone.     I'd give it a month. Then I'd make sure you had downsized to a reasonable 1.9 wing load, and begin to immediately try swooping. After you have made 20 or 30 attempts at swooping you could take a canopy course, but by then you probably won't need it. Make sure you have your go-pro turned on. Please don't dent the planet.     I think it's simply a case of a manufacturer having a signed contract with terms that protect it from loss if the order gets cancelled midway through production.     A typical semi with the 250hp engine you said two Teslas would blow away may be generating 1000 hp of torque, which is substantially higher than the tesla, which like most car engines, is more about top speed (HP) than pushing ability (torque). As I clearly noted, the electric has the advantage of having all of its torque available at a standstill, but it still needs to be enough to push the load, or it will need gearing (or more torque) too. The primary point was that comparing HP figures was fairly stupid. I'll bet the more torque required the more quickly the batteries will drain. Perhaps in the future when there is battery technology that would support big rigs. I don't see us stringing electrical lines on the interstates all across the county anytime soon.
